it's not just that, he does itto all the girls that comes his way, it's even making it look as if he's perfect that he can't make mistakes. Let him cut some slack and enjoy small let's give the story a twist cos if it continues like this it would become annoying.

Solomonbrown64 nice update

But I kinda agree with those that commented before me, Alex character is becoming annoying.. his quick to judge and easy to be annoyed.

Abeg make his character a bit fun and not all grumpy all the time.. if we all in this world act piously then this world won't be fun, just let Alex succumb to one or two temptation ( you know na)

Solomonbrown64, nice job you have been doing. Others before me have aired their views about the Alex character, with the commenter above me even requesting that you 'allow' him fall into one or two temptations... I wouldn't say that exactly. But....

If it isn't deliberate and purpose-driven (only you know where we're going to with this story), I will advise you loosen him up a bit. Right now, he's too uptight, temperamental and mostly rude. If the whole aim is to present him as a no-nonsense person, I think that aim is failing. He's rather beginning to appear haughty, inconsiderate and rash.

Laslas, na your story. Carry am anywhere you want.

NB: Before I forget, I also think you give too much away concerning the way situations might end in your stories. It's like seeing the end from the beginning. That could kill suspense. E.g.

He saw the girl walking towards him and decided she must become his next girlfriend. If only he knew that her boyfriend, only a few metres away, will stab him in the neck for his daring, he might never have said hello...

From the point of their meeting, no matter the twists and turns, the reader will simply be on the lookout for when the boyfriend will stab the guy in the neck. The conversation that will ensue between them suddenly becomes inconsequential; that the girl smiles and exchanges numbers with him won't matter; the reader will simply await that moment when the stabbing prophecy will be fulfilled.

All I want to say is that the author is trying to portray a different character from his other works, if he had written him as that character that falls into temptation in the first chapter, there would still be people who would call Alex a fool and all sorts of names.
I like how the author gave him self-restraint, nobody is above different types of temptations but there are people who don't fall easily or don't even fall at all. You'll never know the character and behaviours of everyone in the world but there are definitely people like Alex and the author is trying to portray these type of people in Alex, so just watch how the events unfold.

That's why I didn't join in the call to make him fall into temptation (if it doesn't suit the author's pre-envisaged outcome). There are many Alexes out there, with regards to resisting temptation (yours sincerely is probably one).

But the Alex here appears proud, inconsiderate and rude. I don't know if that is deliberate on the part of the author. If it is, no qualms. But if not, he should tweak Alex's responses a bit to make him disciplined, cultured and strict rather than rude and brash.

I noticed this too, and I think this is a defense mechanism against people, if you noticed almost everyone that sees him under rates him, for being too young or short or some other thing. So he behaves rude towards them for his own defense.

Yea. I have even seen this kind of behaviour in reality. A friend of mine easily get angry at ladies because for years he has been seen as a short, rash boy. So he easily judge and get angry at ladies these days.
