As far as i know, you don't need any authentication by any ministry for your attestation certificate. The Attestation certificate or birth certificate issued by the NPC is sufficient by itself.
Thanks @sharpman1 ,was almost getting worried on how to get it authenticated.. thanks for the advise..vless you

You dont need any authentication of any sort as far K1 Visa is concerned....unless the Embassy changed the rules which I'm not aware of.

I submitted my Attestation of Birth and Affidavit of Birth to the Embassy without any form of authentication and it was accepted.

@legitbachelor thanks so much for the advise and information.. God bless you

@brownesugar,

You do not need to authenticate the documents at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja.

The Letterhead and the official stamp imputed on the doc done at the NPC office is just okay.

Okay @select500.. thank you

When I did my medicals in September , there were some vaccines they didn’t give me because they said it wasn’t available in the country. Please do I go back there and ask them if it’s available now? Or I should just go with the result they gave me for my interview? And since they are now sending results to the embassy direct, hope it won’t be an issue when I go with mine.

Hello everyone, like they do on VJ. This is my timeline.

*24th June 2019* - my fiancee filed,

*3rd Oct 2019* - it got to NVC,

*29th Oct 2019* - I was asked to apply for the K1 cause they were ready to process,

*21st January 2020* interview.

*This is my own calculations, just checked my mails*

If you also have your interview scheduled for next year let's keep in touch. @LegitBachelor @djfrancis I've read through your updates and i must confess that you guys have been amazing. And also to many others that were approved. Thanks guys for the info. However, many of you had to create a new account for this. Haba! Joined 2019! Joined 2019. @ glorioussugar welcome back, same thing is applicable to me ,the didnt have two vaccines when i did my medicals but the doc there said i can do it here or when i get there, that my card should be with me when travelling..there is no need for concern and it wont poise a issue at the embassy(i believe that)..just prepare ahead for your interview and get your NPC birth certificate as advised by the elders above... are u slated for january too?cheers

Hi Guys, so I’ve been reviewing interview questions. There’s one that has me stumped.

Why are you getting married in the US?” OR “Why don’t you get married in Nigeria?

Please what’s the best way to answer this question? seems like a tricky question without a right answer. Would appreciate people who have been asked during their interviews to help out or anyone who has a helpful answer.

By the way, my response would have been: Because she has her whole family and job there and I do not intend to disrupt that.

Seems like an inadequate response to me though because I also have that here in naija.

Looking forward to helpful contributions.

If you have a big Nigerian wedding and pay the same as for a Nigerian wife, then the US government believe more, it is the real love and marriage.

If you marry in US, the government and even your American wife see as you don't want to make any effort, you are not valuing the American wife the same as a Nigerian one, even you could be or will marry traditionally a Nigerian woman and the American marriage is just the formality for you for to get your green card.

I would like to see 1-2 years from now all of you who arrive now to US. How many of you are still married to your American wife / husband and how many of you are cheating, travelling back to Nigeria to visit and how many of you have a traditional wife in Nigeria or will have.

If that's the truth then it's adequate. Theres nothing wrong with not trying to disrupt your fiance's family's schedule or sth. But if it's not the reuth, then tell them the truth. As long as the love you have for each other is legit then you have nothing to be worried about.

There is no one standard response to that question.

Mr Unknown sex, if dem show you way, you go fit do am? No negative vibe. Shift abeg! unknown sex. If you don't have a valid answer to the question why not just chill and look for a thread with your likes?

Back to the question @disguy1. It's simple. Like thoughtful people have said before, the VO/CO know the cultures in Nigeria. Simply put, I will tell them; "my fiancée wants a traditional wedding. And we both have agreed to do the traditional wedding and go the court afterwards. She wants to experience the Nigeria traditional wedding. And I believe sir and ma that you're conversant with the Nigeria culture that a traditional wedding must be held in the parents house of the wife-to-be. As our tradition stands to be, myself, family and few relatives will honour her greatest wish"

Although, this answer is applicable for male k1 applicants with a female USC. Where una don see traditional wedding wey na for the man house dem dey do am? She wants a traditional wedding, and we have agreed on a traditional wedding and later on go to the court.

For female K1, I will get back to you if something comes up.
