Sorry been up and about.

My brother, I lay no claim to being "close to the market" oh.

As a long term holder of Zenith, the last detailed attention I paid to it concerning the shareholding structure was in their last audited report.

The Chairman increased his holding to over 3 billion shares as the MD increased his from 5 million to 15 million shares.

As a result of my strategy for this stock, I don't bother about price movement unless the fundamentals change negatively.

Thanks brother for replying. Same thing was said by Godlylife. I guess I became lillylivered as I am deeply in the stock . Merry Christmas in advanced.

Zenith bank is a good stock for cash flow investors, it is consistent with dividend payments and dividends growth.

Dividend paid by Zenith bank quadrupled between 2006 and 2018. That means an investor who received a dividend of N1 million in 2006, got a dividend of N4 million in 2018 without increasing his or her holdings.

Jim Ovia actually got a dividend of N7.4billion after the deduction of Withholding Tax from his direct holdings.
In 2019
And another dividend of a little over N4 billion after the deduction of withholding tax from his indirect holdings ie stocks bought in the names of his companies.

Nothing can be more true sir.
Your nous of this market is undisputed.

The part in bold is the reason at an average purchase price of N16/share in my portfolio, I have watched Zenith gallivant to over N30 and back without selling.

I humorously used to say as Jim gets his fat pay cheque, I receive my little bit from same source. grin
Interestingly, that gives me fresh funds to play with in the market every March/April.

As for the interim dividend paid around every Sept/Oct, that always often takes care of Xmas expenses.
Wetin be my problem again?
[I no dey like write epistle; make una no vex jor] grin

Also if you check the stock picks i posted last week you will notice that they are doing well now as bids are high...Am currently checking on the volume of transactions on the banking stocks and it is relatively good and high...The time is right but remember to shine your eyes, keep your ears on ground for information and follow your investment properly..

NB: The mistake most people made especially in 2008 was that they didnt have any info on the company of the stock they were buying ( whether the company was healthy or not)...

A good business man/woman should try to know details about the company he or she is investing so as not to enter into a train carrying a time bomb..

Aways check the nigerian daily newspapers to keep yourself updated about the market...my 5kobo advise..

Please more contributions will be appreciated...
Thanks for this

One needs to be heavily invested in dividend-paying stocks to reap the benefit therein else...
