Sadly some insurance companies refuse to insure passengers and vehicles. .I still don't know why. |

This view remains the most valid I read on the Op's grieve. He was most concerned about blackmailing the Transport company that he shredded too much energy on them than looking inwards to doing what was actually right at the pointing time. He was chasing shadows while his relative was not even at the mercies of the shadows. NwaAmaikpe: |

Your post is the senseless post.. When will Nigerians wake up and demand better customer services from companies. GUO have the lives of 50 or so people in their hands and they cannot be on the side line.. They supposed to be the one carrying the whole thing in their head like afro. Releasing press statement, answering phone calls from enraged relatives in a nice and diplomatic way.. Not giving enraged relatives bad attitude and bad customer services. |

edoairways:You dey answer them mumu. How can you expect a transport company to pay the ransom demanded after passengers were kidnapped? |
| Re: My Brother Was Kidnapped And G.U.O Motors Is Silent by ukahrawah: 4:18pm On Dec 26, 2019 |
GUO or any other affected transport should not treat the victims or their relatives with disdain. Come on, we're talking about precious lives. Under such circumstance, their officials should quickly contact the police and keep updating the relatives on the steps being taken to address the situation. |

My luggage was returned complete. With twitter they know the whole world is seeing it at a go. |

Of course I will pay. The company should have insurance coverage. You need to travel out and see how things are done. Companies go bankrupt for this kind issues due to poor handling. edoairways: |

Same GUO transport company that wasted their passengers after colliding with a PMT bus 2 weeks ago along Benin ore highway, but claimed it was only the driver in the front that died while 2 others sustained injuries? Any accident resulting in the death of a driver must be a ghastly one, which could also have killed the passenger in the front seat...but they told Nigerians lies that only the driver died when the eyewitness reported that 18 passengers lost their lives in the 2 buses. I'm disappointed as them. I used to see them as an alternative to GIG which is on the verge of folding up but I was wrong |

Thank God he was rescued alive,Most of these transport company do not put their buses in good conditions b4 embarking on a journey,if the tyre was not bad d bus wont have stopped and this incident would have been averted. So sad! They should be sued . |

Some of these drivers and the office staffs now work in tandem with the kidnappers. We have heard of cases of the office staffs communicating details of the travel and bus movement to kidnappers. God will continue to deliver us from evil people. |

Ifakiland:Gbam! I'm amazed at the comments here. They are actually expecting GUO negotiate with kidnappers and pay the full ransom!! Seriously?? Where is that done? Pls people should try to be reasonable. The only liability for GUO is the injuries sustained by the guy. Negotiating with the kidnappers should have been strictly a police affair. |

NwaAmaikpe:..........you sincerely spoke my mind here ..., while we bless God for safely delivering the captives ..it is important to point out the fact that .the op needlessly dwelt so much on what he did at GUO office when you should be more concerned about getting your relation out of the kidnappers den by liasing directly with security agencues or better still trying wats of interphasing with the kidnappers on ransome discussions ... If you look at the travel ticket of these transport companies you will see that they literally bear no liability in cases like this .... But it's well ...God protect His own |

The responsibility of rescuing your relative lies wity the police and noone else... They should have just politely told u that they ve reported the case to the police and rescue effort is ongoing...As for payment, it is high time insurance is mandated for all interstate travellers....Insurance companies wud have bn the one addressing compensation except your relative ticks a "no insurance" box and didnt pay....It is high time we have a clear understanding of how a normal society should work....once they have complied with the necessary regulation regarding security(if govt lays down any)....then all your fight shud b witu security agents....remember their staff is also missing....U all are in it together and they are as powerless as U....I only fault them for their lack of empathy and not bn customer centric while routing u to the apt quarters.... |

Correcto:I'm not sure you understand the implications of what your saying. I'll really like to of companies that negotiate with and pay off kidnappers. Doing so will only make one a target . Americas motto of non negotiation with terrorists is not for fun. |
| Re: My Brother Was Kidnapped And G.U.O Motors Is Silent by tunjilana: 5:12pm On Dec 26, 2019 |
Correcto:it is not the company that will pay. it is the insurance company insuring the traveller through them....sadly insurance is optional here and many people dont pay....not sure the ticketers even talk about it again |

The transport company did badly with their attitude which is why the situation escalated. It was them who were supposed to call the police and not the independent relatives. Transport companies are supposed to have an administrative arm that deals with emergencies. So you were right to hold them responsible but unrealistic not to pursue an alternative pathway when you realised how lackadaisical they were being. If they had called you and said "the passengers have been kidnapped and we are currently working with the police; please come for an emergency meeting so we can discuss further" instead of being cagey when you reached the office, it could have been different. If they didnt collaborate with anybody to hijack their own bus, why were they hiding and concealing with Igbo ![]() |

NwaAmaikpe:Speaking plenty because it not your relation. Next will be yours don't worry. If they don't have flat tires the kidnapping won't take place. Why are they not acting as human when their passengers and driver was kidnapped? Instead they posting people front and back. When you spend a minute With kidnappers you will know how to appreciate every seconds of your life. Keep talking trash |

NwaAmaikpe:People are hailing you. I usually try to read your posts impartially; on this one I would say you are half right. He should have gotten in touch with the police sooner in a double-pronged approach with the "Press" stuff. But youre wrong to remove blame from GUO; nobody is asking them to fork out millions but they should at least be decent when dealing with distraught relatives. The way they tried to dismiss him was the reason he started all the television stuff so blaming him for his response is unfair. |

joyandfaith:Exactly. The money is not even the point but how they treated them. If its their own relative they wouldnt be acting like that |
| Re: My Brother Was Kidnapped And G.U.O Motors Is Silent by midnighter(f): 5:31pm On Dec 26, 2019 |
Influential101:Youre focusing on the wrong thing. Hes not the one whos supposed to be calling the police. Its the company who was supposed to do that and relay the information back to the families They dont have good customer care at all. Nobody expects them to bankrupt themselves due to kidnapping that wasnt their fault but they could at least be considerate since the incident happened while the person was in their care |
