Amaju and NFF are about to press a self destruct button!!! at their only reasonable achievement since they took office. I don't know why we are sitting back and letting NFF and stakeholders selfish interest destroy our country. Which average foreign coach would accept this kind of terms with the qualifiers looming.

First of all you rewarded him no pay rise and now made sure his income was taxable which means he would be making a lot less now. Literally he is taking a pay-cut. We are not stupid as Nigerians because they would claim they offered him a new contract and he rejected when all this explodes in their face. This is pretty much a slave-contract!!

Why would they want to offset the dynamics of this team at such a crucial time, literally they would insert a local player clause in any new coach they hire. This is pretty much business as usual for stakeholders to sell players and as they move abroad, another local player is required and the cycle continue.

Why is our country like this, we seem to celebrate mediocrity, we let our selfish desires overcome the greater good. If the super eagles continue doing well, our young players would become hot cake for scouts just like Brazilian players.

I know Rohr has his limit as a coach, too be honest how do we afford a better coach with the kind of terrible climate we have in our football administration. No high quality coach with reputation can operate in Nigeria.

Rohr has brought a good sense of organisation to this team and the team if untampered would be really formidable at the world cup. I think the stakeholders feel we have talents now, and talent alone can get it done with very little influence from the coach, we can just hire any coach.they have a rude awakening lying in their wait.

I think we the fans need to start making this self serving, selfish, greedy kabals in the NFF accountable for their actions. I don't know how but we need to find a way to stop accepting mediocrity from our leaders as a nation and demand better transparency and excellence from our leaders.

So while every Nigerian pays taxes, Rohr should come and eat taxpayers money without paying his own tax? The NFF got that spot on. It is shameful that Rohr did not use to pay his taxes, come on, that means he is stealing from the government.

Again, there is no clause there that says he must insert a local player, just that his lists will be checked first and I think that too is spot on. Nobody is forcing any player on him, but when he decides to invite players from the Bulgarian Division 2 or wherever then he will be asked to defend that choice instead of just having a free hand and we all will say 'well, he is the coach'.

I don't know about the next person, but I think this is a standard contract. $55k no be beans, effectively all the low budget countries who would want to hire Rohr definitely cannot afford that. And with that salary, we can actually get someone better.

that was before not in modern football and for that deficiency to be overlooked by a coach in any top team in europe currently that means the player in particular is too good at what he does best.

modern football wouldn't have been fair to someone like jay jay if he played in this era. football nowadays is based more on tactical discipline and keeping the shape of the team's formation which makes it look more robotic unlike yesteryear when players are allowed the chance to express themselves. this is the reason why AMs of nowadays operates more like CMs and are now called CAMs.

even with the way football tactics is evolving the number 10 position may go to extinct soon
Dead, cold machine football. And it's all down to the the white man's obsession with efficiency.

If we know what is going on with the AITEO deal, then we can have a better picture of what is going on.

My guess, the AITEO deal is off the table and the NFF guys can not spend recklessly and tax free as it was before.

I also suspect that was why Rohr got owed.

If Rohr is not ready to stay in the country and help develop the game from within, I do not think he is worth that kind of money.

Call me anything but I dont agree with these maurinho like ideas. Guardiola at man city uses play makers. Creativity is important in football. Another brand of attacking football will defeat these ideas. Guardiolarism emphasis creativity and self expression kevincde bruyne is a play maker

We Africans should create our own original style of football. Efficiency or defensive discipline is overrated.

Effectively I don't think we can say he's not paying taxes. What it means is that the employer has effectively decided to bear his taxes, so in short his gross wages is more than $55K. Pinnick has already subtly indicated he doesn't want Rohr to continue. About getting some me better for $55K time will tell. This is a coach who has coached in Europe's elite leagues. In my opinion the man has performed very well, can he be better, most definitely. Offering a new contract which offers less take home pay and new restrictive conditions is nothing else but telling him to go to blazes!!! Afterall the NFF leadership can not kill themselves.

But I never liked tiki taka whose chief exponent is Gaurdiola.
Creativity in modern day football means ability to pass as in de bruynesque kind of creativity, no real flair.

If you ask me what I can call creativity I really cannot put my hands on it. I know it used to be there before but no more or less of it now

I have resigned myself to eating the bones called modern football.

A spark indeed. I'm loving his touchline inputs and screaming already

Of course and that's why the EPL is rated number 1 with La Liga, Seria A, Bundesliga and league one in that order

He does love Iwobi

Very strange but to me, 2 draws equals a loss as well point-wise
na the spark be that now. Lol

No doubt, im expecting Iwobi to be improved by season end and maybe, just maybe, double his prize tag. Pa Carlo can do that.

They wana control player selections again despite it being a large part of structure disorganization in th SE for the last 30yrs??

Who is pressing this reverse button please?

Rohr too should stay in Nigeria more now.

All these just shows the NFF no sabi draft simple contract, terms and conditions.

Like imagine the shifts, remodifications over the years......

Sad sad.

And wait, NFF aren't on their own Permanent site all these years? Sharing building with a federal ministry?

just when you think progress is ongoing for a while, we are given an expose of what happened months ago, the same time we thought progress was ongoing.

Dennerby will still talk. Cos i dunno why he was just so silent till he left.

We need a rule of sorts to make ex footballers control this federation more.

Let's just say you don't watch Kimmich regularly.

For starters, Kimmich, defensively, is better than Arnold by a country mile, defensively it is not even remotely close.

Then offensively, Arnold might be slightly better, mainly because Liverpool play to his strength and hardly operate through Robertson's side, I don't have the facts but I believe that Arnold touches the ball twice as many times as Robertson in a match. Then compare that with Kimmich, the guy playing on the other side is Alaba, in fact most of the attacks goes through Alaba when fit. You also know that Arnold is the primary freekick and corner kick taker for Liverpool, but when Alaba is playing, 7 times out of 10 he takes the short freekicks and even some distant ones because of the incredible power he can generate. Then for corner kicks, I have seen Thiago playing quite a few.

Long story short, I'd take Kimmich over Arnold but only because he is better defensively and still has the potential to be better or at worst level with Arnold offensively if you play to his strength [/quote

play to what strength. TAA is their strength boss. He is as big a weapon on Salah and Mane.

Who does Kimmich face in Germany? Stop this now.

I don't know about the next person, but I think this is a standard contract. $55k no be beans, effectively all the low budget countries who would want to hire Rohr definitely cannot afford that. And with that salary, we can actually get someone better.

See my brother, every country is different when it comes to taxes. NFF had some kinda loophole to attract him with no taxes. They could have adjusted his contract to include taxation in his overall income if that is what they want to do. I would like to ask you if you would continue to do your job if suddenly you get almost 50% pay cut... I feel that is insulting, you can't suddenly reduce someone's income without justifying it by his low performance. We know rohr doesn't have great performance but he does well and he is what we can afford for now...

You are paying for what you are getting, if you think we can get a reasonable coach that would live in naija when most of our players are abroad. We need to be reasonable with ourselves, that team is starting to brim with quality, it's even much harder this days for any local player to replace any of our first 20's..if you think it can be done, we need to start mentioning names that can be replaced.

My problem is the in-stability that might start to arise bringing in a new coach. I think the players we have now just need to gel better. You know our history in the Nigerian team, anytime we change coaches, they would claim they are building their own team and that breeds instability gradually.
