I don't think there is minimum.

Your dividends are credited to your trading account.

You decide whether to withdraw or trade with same.

Wow!
A working system.

Are the US stocks cheaper than Nigerian stocks? What are the advantages of buying US stocks?

Not at Meritrade platform. They always buy my stocks higher tham market highs. They want to drive me away.

It's a completely different kettle of fish compared to NSE.
Let me not be tempted to derail this thread.

You do share buy back if you think your shares are undervalued and the company has the financial resources to pursue the shares buy back.

Dangote cement is sitting on a huge cash of about N700 billion, so I believe the company has the resources for the exercise

Oga Emma, how did you arrive at 700bn, I’ve checked and couldn’t reach the same conclusion. Were there other items you considered outside the stated cash balance on the balance sheet?

The company claimed to have over N800 billion as their retained earnings.

The company made a profit after tax of N390 billion last year and paid dividend of about N270 billion

I have also been doing my research on them. It's REALLY completely different.

Please how soon can you start the thread because I intend to start trading early next year.

It would be nice if we you can start the thread by January so we can take advantage of the US stock market. Thanks.

UACN monthly kumo is too thick to cut through in just one rise. So it will need to make several lows sef. The rise you see now (in UACN) is nothing but a trap. You will learn it later.

Once it falls below 7, just use TA to know the right price to buy.

OK. we are observing. Let's see how the last 2 trading days go.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Northeastern: 2:48pm On Dec 29, 2019
@All, what is your assessment of the 2019 trading year. I am of the view that it is disappointing. The current administration lacks clear direction and foreign investors are not interested in what we have.

Most foreign funds were short on net basis for the year. With America doing well, funds will follow the letters of diversification and not the intent when investing in frontier and emerging markets. Why should I pursue less return with more risk?

There are many threads on the US market.

You guys can revive the one above. I find it most useful because it lays out how to go about investing in the US market with contributions from actual investors

Invest in businesses you know and understand in and out, invest in businesses you know their products, markets, competitors and management.

Invest in US stocks if you are very knowledgeable about the businesses of the stocks you are buying.

If not you are better off, buying Eurobonds and earn between 6% and 9.5% yield.

You are right. One might think this post suggests that it is easier to understand Nigerian businesses than Us businesses because of the locational difference since this is a Nigerian forum. However, it is easier to understand US businesses than ours. Using business research databases like S&P Netadvantage, Thompson One, Factset, Bloomberg, and a host of others would give you more information on US companies than the Nigerian companies on those platforms.

Nigerian companies are not on Yahoo finance but you can get the basic information on any US quoted company for free.

I tell you, information on US companies are readily available even on youtube...i was surprised researching on companies that pay dividend monthly in US unlike here where before you know anything the Nigerian managers would have finished the company. The tranparency in US companies is quite different from here...there are lots of hidden things going on here...so much inside job and hoarding of info..if not that some stocks still pay dividend here..we keep waiting for foreign portfolios to come before we see correct bull....nonsense,,,,HERE PRICES DO NOT MOVE BASED ON INFORMATION...A company will announce a fantastic result and the stock price will move deep south.....wonders happen here
