Hello, good people. Please permit me to ask a silly question. grin
For scanning documents and uploading them, in the creation of express entry profile for example, would it be suitable to use mobile scanning apps like Adobe scan? Or must I do it at a business centre? Has anyone successfully used any phone app to scan documents for Canadian immigration process?

Yes!

Many had used it and gave some positive review on both of the options, however I wouldn't advice any.

Firstly, the options of using app/phone produces snapshot that are somewhat unclear as would be if the scanned documents were to be done on a proper scanner - you can agree with me on this.

Also, the use of cybercafe would have been ok, but this option lacks important factors such as Convenience, Confidentiality of your documents and, above all, it is costly as time goes on - This you'll find out later.

Finally, my recommendation is for you to consider having the benefits of both - Purchase a low end, yet efficient 3-in-1 printer. Well, as said earlier, a low price that is just about the amount, plus a little more if you'll be printing, scanning at the shop. And, this will give you a clean, clear and stressless means of having your documents presentable.

Now the question is which printer can you get and where. I would suggest you do some Google search for online shops, get the price and head to local shops to buy. But, if you don't like stress, simply purchase online - what I did.

I got this fantastic printer off jumia, could be any online store just that they could deliver in 48hrs for the printer of choice and I was ok with the price. So ensure you do your proper window shopping. So, I got this all in one printer for around 13k, that can scan, print and photo copy, even print passport! And, guess what...it's has WiFi meaning I do all functions from my phone.

I think you should consider it; [copy-paste this on google>>> "pixma-ts3140" to view the printer. Please note I do not work for the seller nor the manufacturer and, neither do I earn a living from advertising the product. Recommendations are purely from my own experience. I am currently Post-ITA and, that is the option I am using for all my canny waka.

I hope this has been helpful, and I'll like to thank you for reading.

It's okay to use mobile scanning apps like CamScanner. If your phone has a high resolution camera, use that. If not, use someone else's. For the latter option, delete your documents after you must have acquired same, to protect your privacy. Don't bother about the watermark at the bottom of the documents. Mine were good for it and I have my PPR, like many others.

#beHopeful.

As you might have known now, that this race is not to the swift, just as it is not by your power or skill rather at the discretion of IRCC.

Nonetheless, should you have other means of upgrading your CRS Points - by all means, JUST DO IT. So that you can get sweet dreams.. grin

Viable options;
- Max IELTS if you haven't
- Go to school - Increase your degree - BCS, CIMA, MSc, PGD, PhD
- Learn french - Take TEF
- Sponsor a loyal sibling - Loyal! To get the sibling points.
- Collabo - Find person join body - if still single. Caution, don't take responsibility oo, infact make em pass IELTS First, gather POF, get better degree. You go fear marriage requirement nah...even IRCC dey learn. Lol grin grin lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

JUST DO WHATEVER LEGAL THAT YOU CAN DO TO ADD THOSE POINTS, just in case the younger generation start flooding the market.

I hope this has been helpful, and I'll like to thank you for reading.

Definitely it will by God's Grace; however, the first draw might be in the 470s, but subsequent draws(if biweekly draws or B2B draw continues), it will definitely hit the 460s. If you have other means to increase crs, please do..

Be hopeful...Shalom

Abeg no vex o, are you required to scan anything during Express entry profile creation? I'm asking cos I have created my profile and I can't remember ever been asked to submit a scanned copy of any of my documents. I'm beginning to doubt if I did the right thing. Kindly clarify pls...

Use Camscanner. It's very effective. There's no need to buy a printer. You could also use a cyber cafe but like someone said, the privacy of your documents maybe at stake. Just use Camscanner

Hello Helpful Liispa,

How will i know whether being a chartered member of CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply) will count as a second degree for me?

Also, i am not very clear about this PNP thingy, even though i have seen people use it alot on this thread. I will appreciate if you add your midas touch of teaching to help me understand it better.

Thanks sis

Hello again,

I don't have knowledge on the CIPS, you can use the search button to search through this thread and previous ones, or you can even contact WES to find out for sure if the membership will count as a positive evaluation. Its even better to contact WES so that you won't waste time and funds sending documents and not getting the required result.

For the PNP, to get all the information, I think there is a link on page 1 to the PNP thread where I think they will have more information. Basically, Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is a program where the provinces can nominate people for permanent residence. Some are Express Entry aligned (which when nominated, will give an extra 600 points to your CRS score) while others are not. Each province will have their unique requirements on how to apply for their PNP.

Hope this helps!

I have no choice than to keep hope alive. Who would have thought that days like these would come when the so called high CRS scores will be praying for ITA. One solid lesson I have learnt on this journey is that timing is extremely important in whatever one is doing. I learnt about EE in the era of 440s but was never interested until April this year and then scores soared. Wonderful!

As for IELTS, I doubt that I can write that exam again even though I didn't max out my writing. I have had enough IELTS prep trauma to last me a lifetime.

I have also claimed masters points for my LL.B, no pH.D yet. Actually learning French now but only just because I want to be able to understand the language, I have no plans for TEF and hopefully I won't need to write it. I don't like exams.

Fortunately abi Unfortunately ( I don't know which right now), I am that sibling that others will use to claim those coveted sibling points. I so so wish for a Canadian sibling, it's not easy to be a pioneer.

I don do my own collabo since oo but hubby is not on this journey with us. He no dey interested for now even though he is fully in support of the move for me and the kids. He is not even be bothered about doing his ECA or IELTS, if not I would have gained points from him.

I agree with you on doing whatever is legal to give yourself the best chances. This journey definitely needs one to go above and beyond. May God help us all.

Thank you very much, let me keep hoping for those B2B draws, I painfully lost five points in November...the other means of increasing CRS is hubby joining and that is far-fetched for now, we will see sha. Who knows I might finally convince him.

Please has any lawyer applied using NOC 4211 instead of 4112?
I am asking because though I am a qualified lawyer, I have been mostly doing research, drafting and solicitor's work since I was called to the bar. I rarely go to court except for this last position that has a lot of court appearances to it.
I find that my JD falls in-between the two NOC codes above. How do I make a choice? For now it's on 4211 but I have concerns.
