This is what I noticed in this business: some other domainers especially foreigners buy good names that are very cheap and resale or list them for higher prices in xxxx or more because some of them knows where and how to sell it in few years or less.
Some even hold it for years especially when the name is very attractive and good.
Now the issue is, we at this end want quick sales, looking for cheapest registrar here and there forgetting about holding names for years, there by after the names are not attracting customers after a year, we are either slammed with heavy renewal fees or got it dropped because of renewal fees . To me manybof us are not into name investments cos of many factors but looking for quick flipping.
Personal suggestion: look for registrar that has wild range of premium networks like afternic affiliates and are very cheap to buy and renew. Let's say If u registered a name for $5 and renew is $16, u have paid almost 21$ or let it drop if u are slammed with heavy renewal fee and most of the time they force to to pay for whois at higher price exposing you out and many other benefits stripped off your domain name just as the case of netsol someone complained recently. How can you slam $30 something on .com that has around 3 months to expire? And auto renew when the person not ready? What a clever thief!.
What about registering for 8$ and renew for same price after a year. You will see that it's easier to renew that time especially when I see that it carries same terms and conditions like whois protection and so on. And wait for his grace to push it to the right customers at the right time.

Outside of SH, there are other Brandable Marketplaces, some with higher acceptance rate compared to SH. But unlike SH, they do not accept unregistered names.
Someone who has the funds can register them and submit to these marketplaces.

I once submitted T/o/k/e/n/f/l/e/e/t to SH and it was rejected. A couple of weeks later I saw the name on the "recently published" domains on Namepros. Someone had submitted it to Brand Bucket, and it was approved!

Also, someone could tweak the names and try again with SH.
Worst case scenario, take it as a lesson on what not to submit to SH

So.. This thread still dey . Well done guys. Wow, people like us ventured into domainning then, didn't make a single sale, then went MIA.

If I want to get back now, I don't even know where to start from. And I hate that part of scrapping for those deleted and expired names. Hardly can one find a diamond in there. But I would not mind premium names to hold for at least 6 months or so.

Lol, no tools bro just Google and expireddomains(With some brandable knowledge gathered over time) . A short popular keyword + vue is good for branding. But the suffix (vue) doesn't always rhyme well with most words thus in rare occasions it does. However on the case of canna it combined well and with the dot org already developed is an advantage. Hence it's a good brandable term.

Between you don't need any tool to know a domain's worth all you need is the right knowledge. That's why research and more research is paramount.

I often approve the fast transfer request mail sent to me by their partnering registrars, especially netsol, but my listed names remain like this (see photo), saying no opt-in. Anyone knows Why? Thanks
