By the way, There's a NIMC capture centre inside the Passport centre , but the crowd is always more than those applying for passport sef. If you don't like stress, get it done somewhere less patronized.

Sometimes last month, I posted on this page on how to go about having my DOB corrected on my international passport. Funny how almost everyone ignored my post without offering to help including those that went through similar process to have theirs rectified.

Anyways, went to Abuja by flight last weekend and was very lucky to meet a kind gentleman to help put through. Spent Slightly over 300k (Correction fee, accommodation and flight fee etc) and I think it’s worth it. I just got my passport and everything is effected. You might spend less if you don’t have to lodge or travel by flight. My taste is kinda high so yours might be less.

Regardless, I got my passport within 2 weeks!

Goodluck to everyone!

This thread is tempting me to DIY my passport, buh I'm scared. I have been staring at the application page for about an hour now undecided
Don't waste more time. Follow the process here and get it done. Did my capturing at Ikoyi Office today. Process was straightforward.

My Ikoyi Passport experience

I made sure i had all the required documents and made payment online before embarking on my journey. I applied online on the 29th of November and my interview was fixed for 9th of December. Tried rescheduling the date online but the website was not cooperating so i was stuck with the date.
I got to ikoyi passport office around 10am. went straight to the court office within the compound and stamped my guarantors form. headed to servicom and was directed to a lady on the last cubicle (cant remember the unit). She went through my documents and gave me a new document to photocopy and fill. found my way out of the compound to do photocopy (this cost N50/page ). Came back with the filled form and a white file folder (as i was told here to buy) and she flung the file away. She brought out the "Federal Republic of Nigeria, Nigeria Immigration Service" file and put my documents in them and then she duly signed and directed me to another servicom desk where the lady also penned her signature where necessary and then sent me on my way to start verification.
Here, there are long cubicles with NIS officers behind the cubicle glasses. At the first attendant, there was just one NIS errand girl in front of me with a "white file" but before i could blink, there were upto 10 files that has been pushed to the NIS attendant from different errand officers through a hole on the glass. I also slid my file through the hole and got the shock of my life. The NIS officer dumped all the white files and attended to my file and gave it back to me.

I went through the stages without any issues until the last stage where the attendant requested i add the guarantor's valid i.d. I called my guarantor who sent me a picture of his drivers licence. I printed and attached to my file and returned the file which was duly endorsed.
At each stage, i was questioned on my how i know the guatantor, if you can confirm this if called, why we bear same names(coincidence durh ) and so on but i was ready for them.

I was directed to the capture room where i gave my file to another attendant and took a seat on the seat queue. I also got another shocker here as people without files i.e people who joined the queue while their errand officers did their verification for them were sent out of the capture room to wait outside..
It got to my turn, i did my capture and returned the file to the servicom desk.
In and out was not up to 3 hours.

Now waiting on my brand new official ePassport.

Worthy of note is that we were very few with the NIS file (i counted a total of 3) and we all got premium treatment.
We have all gotten used to doing things the wrong way that doing it the right way now seems foreign to us. I didn't pay an extra dime nor did anyone request. process was actually faster for the NIS file holders and above all, since i entered all my details myself online, my data would actually be correct
Thanks. Followed these steps today and did capturing successfully. Got to Ikoyi Office at 9:27, finished capturing and submitted back to servicom at 11:30. Just two brown folders in the capturing room, the rest were all white.

Hello house, thanks for the information you guys are filling us with. I have a question pls, my name is David James Damilola, (surname, first name and middle name) but on my birth and SOG certificates, it was written as David Damilola James, I've read how important it is that ur details are arranged and filled correctly when applying online, is this going to pose a problem at all? And if it will, is it during the online application or the interview/capturing?

Thanks.

Use your correct name but make sure that it reflects on your Age declaration (you can get affidavit from court) and NIN. It is also good that it refelcts also on your BVN.

My experience at Passport Section of Nigeria Immigration in Enugu
Thanks to all of you that contributed to this thread. I especially thank @playcharles and @offegas for their advice. I followed @playcharles example and have gotten mine also.

This is my experience in Enugu immigration office.
After reading through @playcharles narratives, I decided to follow the online route . I started the application online in my house and when I applied for 5 years passport, only the standard e-passport of 15,000 appeared. I continued and pay a total payment of 17,800 (600 being online processing fee).
I printed out all the necessary copies of application form, guarantor form, payment receipt, acknowledgement form and saw that my interview date was 5 days ahead of the day I applied.

The next day, I went to a friend and photocopied the data page of his international passport, driving license and NIN. He signed at the necessary places which included my two passports. I also photocopied my affidavit of age paper and LG identification letter and waited for the interview day.

On that day, I drove to Enugu state high court which is close to the Federal secretariat where the immigration office is situated and paid a sum of 200 (Two hundred naira) for the Commissioner of oats endorsement, bringing my total payment to N18000.
I moved straight to immigration office and told them that I had interview with them. They asked about my “helper” I simply told them that I applied online. I was directed to one office where I submitted my file ( I bought office file and enclosed all the forms inside it).

About 10 minutes later, the lady called and asked me to take my file to “account” and that is where a drama wanted to play itself but I was ready for anything. Immediately the guy saw my file, he almost hissed and said “self payment” and asked me to stamp it. I went outside and fortunately saw one of them who was selling 50 stamp, I bought one and stamp on the payment form and went back to the office.

The guy said “okay, the self payment guy, give us N100”, I wanted to ask why but gave him the one hundred naira and my file was given to me 10 minutes later. I went back to the first office where I was asked to fill two forms which were attached to my file and sent to the interview room. I was later called for the interview. Truly, the interviewer asked some funny questions and insisted that my forms were not properly filled, I stood my ground and almost read the entire paragraph for her. She quietly submitted my file for enrolment and I eventually did my biometrics.

CONTD

Thanks so much for this.

I was at Sagamu passport office very early yesterday to make enquiry. I met a male officer (bleached with irritating skin) at the gate who prevented me from gaining access in to make my enquiry on how to go about it.

I didn't even go through this thread before I went there (I was just directed her from another thread) but I checked immigration website just to be prepared a bit.

On getting there, he asked if I am attached to a particular officer. I said no since I have none and no name.
I told him I want to make enquiry on how to go about fresh application, yet he didn't allow me go in.

He started his story of how to get it done
(collection within 3 days goes for 40k while 2-3weeks collection goes for 35k)

I asked him the standard collection time without fast tracking and he said 2months.

I told him of a friend that did hers last year with 25k. He asked for location but I refused to disclose it. I moved on to disclose what I have seen on immigration website but he counter it by saying: " are you minding govt? You don't know how their matter be? You don't know if they tell you this and that. na lie?"

I kept looking at him and eventually tried so much to persuade me to get it done for me.

I left and stood some miles away waiting to catch up with other that came for similar thing. I met another woman (appear learned) but was told that fast one is 45k while 2weeks is 40k.

But with what I am reading here now, I am happy we have people that are willing to do things right.

What I can deduce is that:

* A lot of Nigerians are thieves. They derive joy in exploiting their fellow brothers.

* A good no of people do not know they can kick start the process on their own while few that are aware are afraid of making mistake (the officer actually told me that I can miss the code that i will be given online)

My confusion now is how to go about the Guarantor form/document and what it is made up of?

Also NIN is not asterisked on the gen info page. Can the process be continued without supplying that info (for my mum as she isn't having the no)?
Can she proceed for "capturing and interview" after online application and payment without the NIN document as part of documents to go there with
Note: She will be doing it outside Lagos (Ogun state to be precise)

Finally, is there provision on the website to choose one's choice of state for the capturing and interview?

Thanks

Really thieves. Quoting price without any iota of shame. Imagine the amount 45 - 35 thousand. Just go the online route. Anyone that tries to discourage you just call him/her by name and warn the person to stear clear. They are always afraid when you call their name.

NIN is compulsory even though not astricks. I dont know about Ogun state but here in Enugu, almost all the UBA branches host the NIMC staff where enrollement is done daily and it is usually very fast. But I suspect that with JAMB applicants trooping on daily basis it will no longer be as fast.

Guarantor form is printed after your application and payment. Just go to the main page and click on "Guarantor form". Input your reference number and print out the 2 pages forms which bear the name of the applicant and take to your Guarantor.

There is no other code needed. Dont mind the staff.

Yes, you chose any state for your capturing. The caputring date also apears with the acknowldgement paper.

you dont go to the caputuring venue with NIN. It is not needed there only during the online application.

finally, dont allow any of the thieves to intimidate you. During the caputuring, look at the screen to note your collection date which is usually 6 days after the capturing. You may give them 10 ten days and then go and collect your passport.

Brother, how far you don collect bah.
I just took courage to DIY today, submitted my application, pay 25.5k in Gtbank, payment was confirmed within 3minutes and scheduled for capturing on the 7th January.
I pray the whole process be hassle free as shared by the good people here.
Between all NIS officers are claiming they can't deliver 32pages in reasonable time, not sure the reason for this. Somehow that scares me that the booklet might be scarce.

Thank you to everybody who contributed to this thread. I had a hitch free application and collection, all thanks to your guidance.

My experience at ikoyi centre

Applied online on the 29th of November , interview date was Monday, 9th December. Got there around 8:45am, an officer in servicecom asked who was helping me, I responded that I have my complete documents and i have been scheduled for an interview, she told me to wait till 9am, a colleague of hers heard our conversation and collected my documents, went through them and asked me to go to a business centre to arrange the documents in a file, one young man in the cafe helped me, gave me three forms to fill, arranged the documents in a file and wrote my details on it, he didnt ask for money or collect any when I asked for my bill.
I was directed to another officer in servicecom who repackaged my documents in an immigration file, told me to photocopy a form (50 naira)and fill it. Wrote down where I needed to get my file stamped and I proceeded, one stamp in servicecom, others in the 'long room' , the process was fast till it got to a man who asked me to sit and didnt collect my file, while some files were being passed to him, I maintained my calm, approached him two more times before he collected my file, other officers signed and then I was directed to the capturing room, which was also fast. I was given an enrollment slip with my collection date as friday, 12th December , three days after capturing.
I returned my file to servicecom, asked the lady if collection was possible on the 12th, she responded I should wait for two weeks, I finished the process by 10:15am.
I couldn't go for collection on the 12th, but today 13th december, I got there around 8:25am, met almost 30 people waiting for collection, I submitted my enrollment slip and waited, my name was called, i was given my passport, waited to activate it and signed for collection, I left ikoyi 9:25am with my enhanced passport.

My documents:

Original and photocopies of birth cert, state of origin, NIN.
Application form, payment slip, acknowledgement slip, filled and stamped guarantor's form and two passport photographs signed by my guarantor.

My Guarantor's documents:

Filled guarantor's form, all sections were filled
One passport, went with extra two. I was asked for it, even after seeing the one stamped on the form, though it was returned to me.
Photocopies of data page of passport(not expired) and driver's license.

Fees:
25k for passport
1k for sanaapay
1k for notary public stamp on guarantor's form, done in the court
Total 27k

Applied 29th Nov, captured 9th December, collected 13th December .

Once again, thank you all for your input and guidance, hope this helps someone too.
