Usually the difference btw one way and return is not that much so it will be wise to buy return.

If any issues arise at the POE (which I doubt for students especially) u are covered as u already have ur return ticket.

NB: Return tickets have validity of 11 months I guess and can be extended further after that for a fee which will work out cheaper than buying one way when/if going back to Nigeria after studies

In the meantime, Email your School for an Extension if u don't receive ur Visa latest on Friday this week.
They may give u up to 10-days EXTENSION. But I believe ur Visa will be out soon......

I did my biometrics since 19th December and I paid for priority visa, I haven't received any collection mail and it's still at the DMC, one lady that did hers with me same day got a collection message yesterday....

i was going to share my person timeline once i am free ,...........but the person did biometric on 16th for priority and got passport back yesterday Jan 6th . however what i noticed was that the letter from UKVI is dated Dec 23 so while it was processed in 5 working days , they took their time to send it to the applicant . May that why you havent receive a response back ...........

Has anyone who applied using standard application around late November or early December got their Visa..I did my biometrics since the 25th of November but no collection mail till date, I called them on the 18th of December and the call center rep. told me a decision hasn't been made but my application would be escalated, my school would be resuming in 2weeks time and I haven't made plans yet...

Only UKVI can say when we will get visa,it varies, from 24 hours to one week, have u received update yet? Try tracking ur application.

You are wrong. If issues arise at POE, it's a free ride back to your country which God forbid is anybody's portion here.
