It's actually true but it's an accident. Iranian anti aircraft systems were activated in the event of any attempted strike on Iran by US warplanes as the operation on US bases was ongoing. That was the same time Ukrainian plane took off, Iranian anti aircraft missile may have thought it was a US warplane and then fired at it or miscalculation may also mean that the Iranians intentionally fired at the plane thinking it was US aircraft. This has always been my fear, that miscalculation could pose grave danger to unintended civilian infrastructure in the middle east. Iran should try and improve communication between their aviation industry and their military branches in order to prevent such event from reoccurring in future.

The owners/operators of the airline must share the blame too. At this very turbulent time, they decided to pass a plane over Iran, knowing how hostile those guys are. Why not pass the plane through another route, or cancel the flight and tell the passengers your safety concerns.

I could be a possibility otherwise, why is Iranian authorities quick to say they will not give the plane's black box to Boeing? Why not allow the Ukrainian government to make the statement since the ill-fated airliner belongs to it?

The black box is useless to them.....Only a few countries in the world (France, Germany and the US) possess the expertise to analyse the contents.....hence, it's useless to them.

The question now is what will the various countries of the victims involved do about this grave error?
