That's his calling in life.

Lol

But in any case, Op can learn fashion design and dressmaking course by the side while she awaits jamb again.

If you are in Lagos and on the mainland. Call me! Intensive training on fashion.

it not the course it the job opportunities
Why should you spend four years of life only to be employed for a niggard pay as salary?

Irrespective of the course you study in the university, never set your mind to be a salary earner. Create opportunities with knowledge acquire.

Had a friend with the same issue, industrial chemistry two times, but then he tried the third time(which he said was his last) and he got pharmacy.

sir if I desire to offer biochemistry and I graduate and getting out I can't find a job in my field of study doesn't that make me useless.and I don't have the money to even think of abroad bottom line is I don't even know where biochemist end up working at
Please don't let yourself be deceived by anyone! Write JAMB again and this time, study harder and ensure you ace both JAMB and PUTME. You can do it! Don't settle for less!

Many people (including my humble self) have 2-1 degrees in biochemistry that are as useless as the letter 'p' in psychology.

Good evening everyone.

So I'm an aspiring medical student. I've been at home since 2016 till date. I wrote JAMB 4 Times. The first score was 196, second was 203, third was 210 and I worked harder and got 218 this year.

Yes it is not enough because I'm an average student hoping to study pharmacy in university of Uyo but I got my first admission from Obong University Uyo to study biochemistry and I agreed but honestly I hate the course. It has no relationship with what I want to do.

Now I'm scared of never getting to study what I really want.

Is there anyway I can study pharmacy because I can't do transfer and change my course?

Or do I write jamb again?
Your Jamb results is quiet low and you may find it difficult to cope with pharmacy.
If you are determined that's what you want, you need to study harder as pharmacy is not a joke.
Will advise you to change to food and nutrition, tourism and hospitality, or home economics

Medicine or Pharmacy? Oya choose one.........
FYI, u need like, sorry...u need love biochem ooo, cuz whether you finally get medicine or pharmacy u must stake biochem courses during your course of study. So I don't understand which one is "I hate biochem".
Well, my advice to you is that you learn to love biochem, enjoy it, work harder, write jamb, have a good score (250 and above) and then you'll be good for your course of choice.

Biochemistry graduate has zero place in Nigeria.
Don't study a course that would leave u handicapped after graduation.
Medical laboratory scientist has chased biochemist out of lab.
No research in Nigeria.
Do biochemistry at ur own risk or do it n go into self employment or politics good

Please stop wasting your time.
Do your JAMB again and pick one of the remote Northern university even for medicine.

My small advice (Kebbi, Zamfara, Yobe, Adamawa, Sokoto) certainly not Kaduna, Plateau, Nasarawa, Niger

I can't tell you what to do cuz you're the one to decide, but don't ever say you're average, even if people tell you that, don't believe them, you're limitless! .
Back to the discussion, can't you research about biochemistry and see how amazing it can be, but do what you love, your intuition will lead you to the right path. wink

Hey!!
I really know what you're going through! Trust!! I was in your shoes some years back but today am a 400 level medical student. The thing is I ought to be happy right?? Since am already in medicine. But am not!! Somehow I spent over 5 useful years of my life trying to get into medical school but when I got in, I was sitting, taking lectures and struggling for seat with people am over 6 years older than, they're young, most entered immediately after secondary school. I, on the other hand was this old bearded fellow who has got nothing to show for the past few years other than slips of jamb and the torment of walking to the cafe only to get the usual answer "no admission, no medicine" I think by now, my heart is a tablet of inscribed scores, scores of every jamb, putme and remedial exams I've written and seriously I dont want that for you. By the time you enter, your worries will change, you'd realize that the time you wasted, you would have used for something else.
Now, what's the solution!! That biochem that you feel is a useless course is pre requisite for promoting to clinical in medical school. If you dont pass it, you ain't going nowhere, the even better part is this , after your 4 years with biochem, with a first class or upper you can get a direct entry into 200 level medicine in any university in Nigeria. See!!! Youre actually losing nothing!! By the time you return, you'd know the biochem better hence you'd only need to struggle with anatomy and physio. If I had known, I would have studied it before entering med school rather than wasting heart and soul on jamb scripts. So, please!! Love biochem, cherish it!! Because your dreams are about to come through!!
About being an average student!! Oga!! Make I tell you , medicine ain't for the super intelligent, if you are consistent with your reading time and you sabi "cram" small, brother you'd never fail. I give you my word!! All the best man. See your in the hospital someday!!
