The fact that You and I amongst many others are having this convo says He should rightly be placed amongst the Upper echeloens of QBs to have ever played the game. After all there will be no debate if there was no truth to it. Also a few comments above you actually said you'd have no qualms if someone placed Rodgers as a Top 5 QB of all time. That alone tells me that He is not overrated as GOAT arguments can be made for pretty much each Member of that exclusive club. Joe Cool,Brady, Manning, Rodgers et al.

Mahomes is ahead of the Curve and in the next decade or so from now, We might very well be mentioning His name as a Top 5 QB of all time however for the time being let us be guided please.
Exactly! If he accepts the Rodgers is a top 5 QB of all time then why can’t I call him the GOAT especially when he would rank top 3 on that top list? The fact that we can entertain that argument is enough prove.
A40 is so DISRESPECTFUL to the GOAT!

But you can see the argument I'm having is with people that tag Rodgers the absolute GOAT like Roland is doing when he doesn't have the regular nor postseason CV to back it up. At least not compared to Manning or Brady.

I believe the GOAT tier would be Brady then slightly below would be Montana, Manning and slightly below that would now be the likes of Rodgers and Brees. No argument can be made for Rodgers as the greatest QB of all time

Believe you me unless Mahomes discovers crack or picks up deviant behavior, he is the biggest threat to Brady's throne not even Rodgers.

Mahomes is the first QB I've seen that literally has no weaknesses. He has a stronger arm than Rodgers, yet can scramble like Wilson and Deshaun Watson and still be as accurate as Drew Brees.

Here we go with goal shifting again, now he is no longer a top 5, what’s next? He is not a top 10. Like it or hate it, he is going to appear on the top 5 of all time on many lists.

You're deliberately going out of your way to misunderstand me.

I have no qualms with anyone listing Rodgers as a top 5 != Me rating or saying Rodgers is top 5.

I've told you I have Brady, Montana, Manning, Favre, Elway ahead of Rodgers

Favre ahead of Rodgers, I will personally pick ARod just because of the lack of turnovers.

Brett Favre was a gunslinger. He took more risks than Rodgers or arguably any other QB that ever played but when he was in his prime he was far and away the best QB in the league. He was MVP three years in a row

Unlike Rodgers who would rather throw the ball away when he doesn't have a free WR 50 yards away, Favre would squeeze the ball through that tight window regardless. With Favre it was never over till it was over unlike Rodgers who could for the most part play from the front but rarely ever recovered a deficit

If you like add Tim Tebow e no concern me.

If not for lack of longevity and having Joe Cool ahead you can make a compelling case for Steve Young ahead of Rodgers.

In fact

Brady
Montana
Manning
Elway
Favre
Young

Then you can now talk of Rodgers

exactly! Rodgers is not top 5 IMO. Wins have to come into play also...if we were talking maybe who had the highest ceiling as a QB? Rodgers would be top!

So ball safety is now a bad trait in a QB, Favre had 366 interceptions in his career, can you imagine how many games his teams lost because he was playing hot potatoes with the ball.
At least I know ARod will not lose me the game by giving the other team the ball

Which kind of wins, do you mean games or SBs.

I didn't say it was. However if you are risk averse with the ball and unwilling to throw into tight windows and double coverages that is usually the case.

If you want to know why Aaron Rodgers interceptions numbers are low. It's because in his time in the league he has led the league in throwaways 6 times!! The years he didn't lead he was in top 5. Every single year!!

There have been seasons where 10-15% of his pass attempts have been throwaways. Let that sink in! The minute there's no receiver open he just throws the ball away, costing his team a shot at another down. If you want to know why his comeback wins are so few relative to his talent level the easy answer can be found there.

Example of what I'm talking about

Any metric I no wan know. Rodgers is probably more like 7th. Still torn between him and Steve Young. Accurate and mobile

Steve Young was Aaron Rodgers before Aaron Rodgers. Only more mobile. It's almost unfair he never got his own team till like his 7th season or so.

Aaron Rodgers is 2-35 in 4th quarter comebacks against teams with winning records. grin grin

The Lakers just toy with teams these days. Either they demoralise you with a 1Q flurry or they let you get ahead, give you some hope. And then they bludgeon you in the second half.

SBs of course. Only favre has one also, so its maybe a toss-up between them and I would go with Brett favre even with his 300 plus interceptions...
Re: The NBA Begins by Nobody: 8:44pm On Jan 14, 2020

Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 3:06pm On Jan 15, 2020
Blame analytical zombies that have made it cool to disrespect Kobe. League MVP, Finals MVP, All-NBA and all-defense and a core member of the last team to win a 3peat.

When you see folly it's best to unlook

The inaugural Basketball Africa League is set to kickoff in March, with sponsorship coming from the NBA, FIBA, Pepsi and Jordan brand. Twelve teams in total from 12 countries. Rivers Hoops would be representing Nigeria.

It's about damn time Africa had it's own Euro league equivalent.
