If we have 20 of this kind of man in all influential churches and 100 of him as spiritual leaders of Islam in Nigeria preaching consistently on religion and ethnicity, I guess Nigerians will start to think differently on how to elect our leaders.

The catholics hardly live the ostentatious lifestyle we see these days. They were more of charity and helping the communities they lived to grow
But these days things have changed. Wonder why?? Thanks father for the wonderful piece

With APC 1+1=5 great mathematicians, judges we sabi book.
Same way 1+1 was equal to 11 and 16 was greater than 35 in Rivers state house of assembly and governors forum election under pdp.

These people tend to make an ignorant observer think they really have a right to complain about anything. cheesy

Mumu... who told you they're competitors. Both may belong to the same denomination, but weren't born to always agree.

Moreover, he has not even criticized Fr. Mbaba in the writeup, he only broke down your perception, my perception, the politicization of a religious prophecy according to what each one choose to see or believe.

They have really brain washed us with religion I this country that we spent more time in churches than doing our businesses, going to work or doing research to develop this country.....imagine the enormous amount of time spent at most counselling hours, prayer n fasting days, cross overs, first Fridays, etc by our youths, if th I is put into research I wonder what will happen......

Say it loud like an atheist Religion is the opium of the Masses, for the crisis in Catholic church today is nothing to write home about, The Celibacy of a thing has made to Popes to be fighting Royal Rumble, imagine two gods, a current god & ex god fighting public. That aside. When Supreme Court gave PDP Zamfara, there was no need for this epistles, from this man of god, Its only when supreme court declares an APC victory, that the judiciary acts funny & legislative Bills GMB is yet to sign becomes issues. Like your popes two Reverend fathers fighting, but we know Fr Mbaka na correct bet odds.
Think with your brain next time.

shocked why is it that the first thing I saw is "motivational speaker"
As in? Oga your description should be priest or pastor not motivational speaker
There's a difference between John Maxwell and John Mason
There's a difference between Dr Phil and TD Jakes
There's a difference between Oprah Winfrey and Joyce Meyer
There's a difference between Fela Durotoye and Sam Adeyemi

Anyway we must all realise that it's the supreme court
No matter what we say, it is final
So please save yourself the stress and sadness and move on
Even Iheodia has moved on

As for religion being an opium
You can't be a Christian and not be wise, Jesus was very wise and logical. You don't loose your head when you receive Jesus Christmas as Lord and Saviour, you gain insight, revelation and light. He said whose face is on the coin? Pay your tax. He said who has not sinned? Woman go and SIN no more. He said Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.

Christianity is about faith so when you say my sins have been forgiven and I am a child of God and I have been justified by faith and can enter heaven for eternity - it is because we have the faith that all these statements is hinged on God's promises.

He said we are healed, we are rich, we are saved, we are free, we are shielded, we have a crown...
And so many other promises, which I believe and claim as a child of God.
But I'm also aware and I've accepted that there is no crown without a cross, there are no riches without favour in work, there is no good health without healthy lifestyle, there is no salvation without repentance and confession, there is no heaven without righteousness and sinless living that grace may not abide in sin, God forbid

Religion may be an opium but our Christian faith is Christ in us is our hope of glory
No matter the difficulties, sufferings, persecution and cares,
We dey kampe in God

I remember this priest from way way way back. In Holy Rosary Catholic church wuse zone 3 near first bank
He looks feminine which is not his doing, but he is a man with deep insights. I watched a video where he was talking about spirit wife and husband. It was hilarious but very wise. @IME1 wehdone. Nl have wise comments but na time to read be the koko

Same with me.
Insightful article he just dish out from the oven of wisdom.

The man is blessed with critical thinking. If all the priest, pastor and Iman in Nigeria preach in this same manner, Nigeria will be great.

when Karl Max made the dictum "religion is the opium of the people" he felt so because in his opinion religion admonishes people to focus on eternal life rather than the things happening around them because this world is not their home( which is correct) but nonetheless Christians and other adherents of other faiths are behind most of the ground breaking discoveries recorded in science and technology till date, again Karl Max made that assertion because he believed that because of the oppression of the workers that they will be a revolution by the workers to overthrow the bourgeois...the dictator and he actually felt such revolution was imminent and that it will happen in his own time but alas he was disappointed such a revolution never came albeit there were pockets of revolts and riots across the world..secondly it should be noted that Marx was an atheist so religion was bound to have a lashing from him...Karl Marx relied heavily on his friend Engels for financial support be cause he was very poor ( though he was against material possessions but who like to suffer?) -that in itself is an opium! opium of poverty denouncing riches or wealth but needing money to survive and perpetually hanging unto a friend for financial support is the worst opium any body can take and Karl Marx drank it to the fullest!
...now bringing this nearer home, people tend to focus on their personal lives and endeavors because confronting the government on issues does not always and in some cases does not yield any positive result....Nigerians are not lethargic or laid back but why waste energy and resources on a! fruitless venture? when Sowore organised the revolutionnow campaign what came out of it? how many people participated? most of the support he got where from people sitting in a comfort zone behind their phones twitting, facebooking ,instamgramming, nairalanding and what have you
