Today is the anniversary of January 15th 1966 when evil men went out and selectively murdered Yoruba and Northern leaders whilst sparing their own.
This was the root of all the political problems we have today

That was slmost 55 years ago, more than enough time for any serious country to get its act together.

Which country in west Africa didnt have coup in the 60's? All of them did. 90% of all countries in Africa have had military coup.

Not true. If you were a good student of history you would know that a highly ranked Igbo officer called Lt Col Arthur Unegbe was killed

I thank the people that rid Nigeria of these elements who sowed the seeds of insecurity and mindless killings on our land.

sorry o, very corrupt leaders, you forgot to add.

and if you read your history well, you'd know that the populace in Lagos were very happy that they did. because their corruption was stinking(not as bad as Shagari's or IBB's), but for a 6 year old nation, the nation was on a downward spiral.

Yes, it turned out to be a ethnic purging, but i ask, how many Igbos were in the country's political sphere as compared to those whom the British handed over power to?

After the Jan 15 Coup, Nationwide, there was jubilation, except in the North who justly felt it as an ethnic purging. But then, why wouldn't it seem so, when they were the one's filled up in the Government.

The nation was happy, there was a breath of fresh air, all of you keep ignoring that, but keep telling us that Ethnicity purging took place.

as long as people like me is alive, we will make sure we correct rewriting of history by people like you.

Instead of campaigning for Awolowo democratically, Ifeanyi Ifeajuna, Adewale Ademoyega and Kaduna Nzeogwu decided to hatch a coup to take Awo out of prison and force him as the new president.

As you come here to celebrate(in reality, wail) the Jan 15 coup, make sure you come back to celebrate the July 29 Counter Coup, in which the Northerners killed non-northerners(not only igbo that killed them), Yoruba, Igbo, Ijaw, Urhobo, everyone. And that even Obasanjo as at then only nearly escaped being killed by his junior officers in Kaduna, because he was a non Northerner.

The Counter Coup was despite that there had been Kano Riots of which Igbos(or was it Non Northerners again?) had been maimed and killed, because of the Jan 15 coup.

When you come, come here with facts! dont just come and wail

Sorry no, point of correction. After Nzeogwu's coup, Ironsi was Head of State, and despite Brig Babatunde Ogundipe, a Yoruba, being CSSHQ, Awo wasn't released until Gowon came into power. it was Gowon who released Awo, not Ironsi. and if memory serves me right sef, the coup plotters were all in jail then. So, how did they being in jail, make Gowon release Awo from jail?

It was their chief aim, but there coup failed. Ironsi and Ojukwu defeated and jailed them. Mind you, at that time, most of the officers were Igbo.

But who made Ifeajunna and his band of murderous ethnic bigots the judge, the jury and the executioners of who and who is corrupt at that time.?

So, there were no easterners that were corrupt at that particular time in our democracy?

Na only other people's fathers that were corrupt and hence had to die at the hands of ibo coupists? There were no corrupt ibo leaders 'cause dem all be saints, abi?

Yeah, Ademoyega was complicit in the murders that occurred in lagos but can you professor of nigerian history, tell us who actually he shot dead on that terrible day?

Gun carrying officers? BLATANT LIE!

the Nigerian Army gun carrying officers was filled with Northerners. and that's why After Gowon, there was Murtala who ruled with Obj and "TY Danjuma", Buhari, IBB, Abacha.

Some of us have read a lot brother, a lot.
