This is extreme, punishing an entire community for the crimes of a few is not justified. Nigeria's security needs to reach a stage where people willingly give information. But brutal actions like this does not help.

You were not here when someone reported about an incident where a boy in a community reported to the soldiers about a plan to attack them. What did the donkeys do. They tortured the boy instead and were sitting till the attack happened then they went to burn villages in retaliation.
