Isn't my point obvious?

When someone you see as a friend only sees you as a means to an end what do you do?

You are being colonized by the Fulanis, that much is clear.

Fulanis are more indigenous to Niger and Chad yet because of religion you sold your birthright to them.

You've subjugated your beautiful culture for their sake.

You now accompany them to raid villages to kill and maim. At least that was what happened in some parts of Mikang LGA in Plateau state when I was there.

The case of northern Nigeria is almost like Aparthied. A case of minorities (fulani) ruling the majority (hausa).
The fulanis used and are still using religion (islam) to subdue hausas and keep them under control.
Whether hausa's have been completely conquered by fulanis will be answered by future historians.
However, the hausa's can still regain their honor back and return the rule of their land back to majority if they disloge the fulani caliphate/emirate ''Emirs'' and replace them with ''Sarki'' the original term for King in hausa land before the arrival of usman danfodio.
Whether hausas will have the balls to overlook religion and get their lands back is another topic.

There's no open transformer where I stay.

I'd say the same thing to you too but it wouldn't mean anything seeing as you guys hardly have power supply.

You asked a question which answer is quite clearly above your deductive capabilities.

You should have just ignored but you had to say something. So, you decided to jump inside the gutter.

I won't be joining you there. Enjoy the muck along with Fulani colonialism.

No dear. I just think you should drop that phone and help out with the family business.

When you're back from driving your cattle from Borno to Chad and back we'll continue this lovely discussion about Amotekun and why your elders are shedding tears and peeing their pants. Don't forget to carry your AK47 in case you need to pop some farmers on the way. Hopefully they'll stab you first. (I kinda like the farmers more, sorry)

Lol. You can't be back yet. Did your cows fly? cheesy

Anyway, I know you wanna debate Amotekun badly. There's nothing to debate. It is already functional. You doubt me? Visit any southwestern state and see the Cheetahs and Leopards roaring and baring their fangs.

Be careful o. Cos if you go there with your AK47 they'll sure bite your face off.

What ever that's going on between the Fulanis and the hausas is convenient enough for the hausas. They let it happen. The Fulanis knows their limits. They can can even conquer south west too but can't venture into the east. I guess one weapon they use is religion.

Feels like a threatened convenience for me. Modus operandi of the fulani highly suggests that. No way a larger population can be so docile and allow a tiny minority rule over them without the threat of violence or iron-fist subjugation.

The question is how do the fulani manage to subdue such a large group of people? An understanding is imperative to solve the problem or at least prevent it from spreading elsewhere in the country

The same thing is happening to the Yorubas in Ilorin. I was shocked when I learnt that the current governor of Kwara state is Yoruba. I mean look at his names. Not a single Yoruba word in his names. i give Ilorin 5 more decades before it is 100% Fulanized.

In your post, you have touched two issues of mention. The Hausa are conquered ethnic group. When people are ruled by a stranger, in this case an Emir, it is indeed the subjects of Emir are conquered. As for the phrase, Hausa/Fulani, it marked the start of foolery in Nigerian society triggered by Nigeria/Biafra war. Fulani is extremely small in population. However the members of the ethnicity found themselves in the corridor of power due to the shift in balance of rule by Nigeria/Biafra war. In order to make Fulani significantly visible, it became apparently paradoxical to align Fulani with the docile larger ethnic group hence the nonsensical Fulani/Hausa phrase.

Calm down. Not everything is about Biafra. Stick to the topic. Don't infuse the discussion with your fairy tales.

One of the reasons for my question is the ilorin case. We shouldn't allow things to get to the hausa levels before tools are employed to reverse the damages incurred.

It is ilorin today, if care is not taken, it could be ibadan in a century

I would like only one tribe to conquer and occupy the entire Nigeria and even west Africa. we need only one tribe ,not 300 . Hausa/Fulani has the best potential and Fulani has already conquered everything in the northern part of west Africa from Senegal to Central African republic. now the focus should be on the south.

The day Fulani believe they can conquer Southern Nigeria is the day Fulanis will be no more.

Well, I served in the North, and during that time, I observed, and I was forced to ask questions.
I observed that during the school exam on subject: Hausa, even though all of them can speak Hausa language perfectly, they were still cheating during the exam.
I know this is also common in the South, but my curiosity and my intention of just trying to curb them from cheating, made me to ask: Are you not an Hausa? Why do you still cheat? Majority of them replied in chorus; "we're not Hausas!"
Then, I probed further, who are you then? They now started saying, I'm Berom; I'm from Jos; I'm from Kaduna town and we have our language, I'm from nasarawa, we have our native language which is different from Hausa's... Blah blah".
Then I later asked a Corper mate from Taraba, who can speak Hausa fluently, even though their native language is Jukun, if all/majority of you are claiming not to be Hausas, but can speak the language, who are then the real Hausas? His reply was that he doesn't know either.

So my deductions all round is that, Hausa language might be a native language of the early elites/highly civilized from that part of the country, it may necessarily not be from northern Nigeria itself, as it's true that other tribes in other western Africa can speak the language fluently as well.
Just like "Oyo Yoruba" which is the standard for all Yoruba, while there is other Yoruba dialects that average Oyo man cannot understand without learning. So is a certain English language, a standard to all Brits, even though, their native languages are different. Then, I believe Hausa is just a common accent/ acenstor language to those people in that area, while it might be the native language to a minority tribe in that area.

Fun fact: I was told that in Kaduna alone, they have about 50 different tribes, aside the "Hausa's" and I confirmed that people from kafanchan in the same Kaduna state, can speak their language, in which a typical "Hausa man" will not understand.
So it's not really Fulani dominating, it's just people who're claiming to be Fulani that're dominating. If you check most of the northern states have majority of different tribes that are not even Fulani or Hausa.

What is the situation with the hausas in the north? Are they now a conquered tribe?, A silent one? Or just ruthlessly oppressed by the fulani?

Growing up, I was taught in school that the major tribes in Nigeria are the yoruba, igbo and hausa. But after a while the term hausa/fulani started to pop up everywhere on the media and now it's just fulani with very little mention of hausa in any important national discussion.

My understanding is that the hausas still vastly outnumber the fulani in the north but are there still hausas in any significant position of power in there? If so, who are they?

I don't know too much about this topic, never travelled past Abuja while I was in naija and can't find enough resources on the internet.

Your inputs will be very much appreciated

Hausa people are more into business from pre-colonial era to date. That's why Kano is the trade centre in the North.
Fulani are more into politics and education. That's why Sokoto was the centre for religious and political affairs before the colonisation.
Presently Almost all the well known businessmen from the north are of Hausa decent while all the big name in Nigeria politics and government are if fulani origin.

Today It ll be a very difficult to find a Hausa or fulani families that didn't inter married. Except those fulani herdsmen in the Bush.

This, I believe is a gross undersimplification. It's almost like saying the Blacks back then were alright with the arrangement of them being slaves because they 'didn't' fight against the slave masters. We all know that wasn't the case. It was basically 'revolt and die' back then.

Could very well be the same for the hausas. I mean how else do you explain a major tribe not even governing themselves despite their major population.

Why ll you talked ignorantly about things like this in public space.
Before Dan fodio who told you there were no fulani mixed with the Hausa?
Hausa people assimilated fulani into there own culture and no amount of bigotry from u and ur kind ll make us look Hausa or fulani as different.
Those fulani who refused to live the normal life in towns are still roaming the jungles.
There was never tribal conflict between the two.
Dan fodio fought his jihad against corrupt and infidels with the backing of Hausa masses and scholars.
Hausa people are always into business than politics and they are still leading in business in this country. Go and research

I think it should be obvious to you how the fulani's conquered the hausas. 1. Uthman Danfodio played 50 Percent of the mission 2. The fulanis used religion to penetrate the hausas
3. The hausas were comfortable with the fulanis since they shared the same religion which can be confirmed by some comments above.
