Oga Mr. American with bad grammar, read the post and understand first jareh. He was quoting someone on VJ.
Oga Mr. Nigerian with horrible pidgin English mix. Read yourself and maybe you and the author should learn a little html for to quote correctly.

BTW I am an American who lived in different countries and speaks and writes 7 languages, including the engineering technical level in many, also many aerospace manuals done and translated by me, not good grammar in NL according some Nigerians. Too much wahala to be liked by pidgin speaking people and to learn how to chat here. Learn to read well at least in one language, English, then talk to me.

@frypuffpuff I'm so sorry for the denial.

I think the reason you were denied is because they don't believe your relationship with your fiance is genuine. It has nothing to do with your profession.

If they feel that a relationship is not genuine, then their conclusion is that you are simply coming over to the States to get a job...which is why you got that section 212(a)(5)(A).

Also there's nothing wrong with meeting your fiance when she is still legally married. However the requirement is that you must also meet your fiancee when she is legally single (divorced) within two years before she files the i129f petition. If you guys didnt meet again after she finalized her divorce papers, then that's a ground for denial. What the section 212(a)(5)(A) simply means is that you are not eligible for the fiance visa and since you intend working in the US, they cannot allow you to go to the US because you will deprive US Citizens of jobs. Note howevrr that even if you say you don't intend to work in the US, they will look for another reason.
True. Applying for Fiance(e) or Spouse visa is all about how well the correct information is presented. Good paperwork and genuine correct information gets you visa, some, even small inconsistencies gives you troubles.

True legitbachelor. Hahaha disguy1 no mind that smartkitty. I was quoting a VJ experience. The thing is can you engage a woman who is still legally married? So it will be considered a sham. We are withdrawing the petition for future petition filing. It makes sense that you cannot engage a woman who is not legally divorced. I engaged her when she hasn't filed the divorce on her first visit. Worst case scenario that will be going in the visa officer's mind; we both conspired so you could divorce your husband. Since the time of engagement was not after the divorce and was even on the first visit.
Exactly! Get a good lawyer, you will need one.
Learn a little html, please, then complain about not being well understood.

It might be legal to date and engage, but the immigration process can be somewhat complex! It is painful but also a good example for people to learn from. Besides, it’s not the end of the road for him! Better days will come

You might be right. Legitbachelor made some valid points. It’s not the end of the road like you said, it’s just painful sha.

Please how did you guys sort out WhatsApp call logs! I need help cus they are saying numbers and duration has to show. Thanks in anticipation!

Okay, go to your WhatsApp, click on calls, then choose the ones you and your fiancé had, just click on the exclamation mark and the details such as call duration, time, date and even the MB consumed will show. Just do screenshots of many as possible, especially the ones with longer call durations, send them to your email and print them out at a cybercafe if you don’t have a printer at home.

Letter of intent to marry : Is the petitioner and the beneficiary meant to write the letter together or each of them meant to write it seperately. On nairaland some people are saying it should be written together, while in other forums or when I googled it, some people say it should be written separately. One from the beneficiary and one from the petitioner.

I beg which one am I suppose to do.

Pls advise it is urgent.

You should have 2 letters. One from the US Citizen petitioner and the other from the beneficiary.

Don't worry about the introduction.

If you are asked about it just let the CO know that it was just the 2 families getting to meet and there was no exchange of vows or bride price.

All the best in your interview.

My K1 visa was approved and I want to say a big thank you to LegitBachealor & the rest of the members here for all the contributions. I had my interview on Jan 15th and I just tracked it, it's showing issued, so waiting for the notification to go to DHL. So let me give the low down how everything happened.

Our case actually expired on 28th Dec,2019 but I was able to get interview date before expiration. I did my medicals in Lagos 13th December and picked it on 14th January morning because I don't stay in Lagos. Even though it was ready as at 23rd December. The consultant practice Ikoyi very friendly people.

I collected police certificate same day I did medicals and paid them 8k at Alagbon picked it up same day.

On 14th January I lodged at Atlantic hotel vi lagos musa yaradua road. I didn't want stories. The hotel is 25k per a night and I didn't mind because I wanted to be close to the embassy as possible. Woke up 5am and got to the embassy 5.30am. People don full everywhere. I paid one security 1k and dropped my bag and phone. My interview was for 7.30am.

So after all the queue and all, we were inside for the interview. No be small thing. Those for visit visa b1/b2 were just so much. I kept hearing please take your passport you re not eligible for the US visa...I'm sorry I'm sorry everywhere GOD. Those for immigrants were about 40. I focused on myself, already arranged all my documents in different transparent folders. Secondary evidence, primary evidence, compulsory requirements etc.

My turn for the submission window and thumbprint verification. The lady asked for Affidavit of support, police clearance certificate, medicals (don't open it until you get to the embassy & they ask you to at the queue), original birth certificate, w2 tax etc, passport photo and my international passport. I gave her all in 2 mins. Had it all arranged in my compulsory folder. Then I sat down and waited till I was called around 11.30am

The consular officer a black American asked me to take the oath which I did, finger print and interview startedooo. I tried my best to keep an eye contact on him, everything I learnt on this forum. Questions upon questions

So who filed for you?
How did you meet?
Where's she from?
Where does she stay ? ( THIS one I named the address in full)
What does she do?
Where does she work?
How many times have you met?
When did you propose?

I was already doing so well with All my legit answers then from nowhere he asked me this question...

You have been denied tourist visa 3 times, what's the circumstances surrounding it?

I explained to him the conference I wanted to attend but was denied, i gave him dates of all the application even the 1st one in 2014. No lie at all. Thank GOD I never lied in my application or said married when I was single.

He then asked me if I had ever lived outside Nigeria...I said No.

Next thing he said I believe I have enough information to approve your visa. He gave me two papers and said I should pick up my visa in two weeks and circled the Dhl address. I said thank you.

Wow it can only be GOD. Nigeria is really on a radar even if you are genuine, you need to pray that everything works out well.

Yankee here we come okooo

Thanks everyone!!!
