nku5:Don't be too excited bro, this is Nigeria. Many policies especially under this Buhari simply end as news, nothing happens afterwards. So, wait until you start seeing ships queueing to berth |

nextdoor84:Unfortunately for you and the people peddling that narratives and false association, SS folks don't label themselves Easterners and they vigorously reject being called Easterners or igbo.. Only igbo people peddle that association and there's a reason why they refer to themselves as SS and not SE or Easterners. Stop forcing labels, flawed and unwanted identity on people. |

kayfra:River Niger can take bigger vessels if dredge, but what they are planning for now is transloading from bigger vessel to container barges via warri port, but if Nigeria cease to exist North and East might agree to dredge River Niger or east might dredge their own section which is more closer to ocean Below are the kind of container barges that will be calling in Onitsha port and Baro port for now, they carry large number of containers

[quote author=NewsMuncher post=86087905]Onne, Port Harcourt, Calabar and Warri are all in that South South. When they call them eastern ports, people like Anambrastson start getting veey excited like the ports are in the south east. If a Biafra comes like many of you easterners deeply desire, hope you know you will not have even one of these ports in your region??[/quote Core igboland is not actually landlocked as u wish and think u can acess the seas through oguta in imo and ogbuaku in abia states its just 30 nautical miles to the atlantic ocean go do ur research properly. |

kayfra:I know you guys hate to hear the truth, if you desire I can still feed you with more informations on River port or Canal where biggest vessels transits, you can help yourself Google famous Shipping Canals of the World Suez Canal Opened in November 1869, the 193.30 km (120 miles)-long Suez Canal is an artificial sea-level waterway located in Egypt. Linking the Mediterranean Sea with the Gulf of Suez, the Suez Canal is an extremely crucial shipping canal in the world maritime sector as it is one of the most heavily used shipping routes in the world. The canal, which separates Asia from the African continent, provides a shortest maritime route between Europe and the regions which share a border with the Indian Ocean and the Western Pacific Ocean. The Suez Canal has been recognized as a maritime route to be open at all times, to shipping vessels of all countries in order to facilitate continuity in maritime trade operations irrespective of global conflicts. Panama Canal One of the most crucial maritime gateways in the western region, the Panama Canal provides connectivity between the Pacific and the Atlantic Ocean through the Panama isthmus- a narrow strip that separates the Caribbean Sea from the Pacific Ocean. Since the oceans that the canal connects with are not at the same level, the canal uses Lock Gates on either side to lift the vessel to the higher level and similarly to drop down to the sea level. Opened in the year 1914, the canal helps vessels transiting between the east and west coasts of the US to shorten their journey by 15,000 km. The 82 km (51 mi)-long waterway offers its service to 29 major liner services, mostly on the US East Coast to Asia trade route. In 2017, the Panama Canal witnessed the arrival of a total of 13,548 vessels and received 403.8 million tons of cargo, there are more than 10 famous Canals, River Niger when dredge large vessels can transit through the channel to East and North, you may doubt me because tribalism has beclouded most of you guys sense of reasoning.

Funny thing is that as of 1970, The old Cross River State consisting of Modern Cross River and Akwaibom states was called South-East state by Gowon, because the state was geographically South East in location in respect to the old Eastern region . While the current SE was actually East Central state, because the state was in central location, with respect to defunct Eastern region.

JUGGERNAUT101:first if I may ask which midwestern city or town did the British built railway pass through? maybe you should focus your criticism on fg that decided to 'waste money' and not coming here first to hound another group about a presidency that has nothing to do with subject matter in the first instance |

[s] JUGGERNAUT101:[/s] Rubbish, I believe you don't understand the meaning of landlock A landlocked state or landlocked country is a sovereign state that does not have territory connected to the World Ocean. River Niger is connected to Atlantic ocean. |
| Re: Eastern Ports Revival: How NPA, Hull Blyth, Maersk, Others Are Pulling Through by Anambralstson(op): 2:24pm On Jan 26, 2020 |
JUGGERNAUT101:I don't bother reading the rubbish you wrote about Anambra people, it clearly show you're ignorant. I just want to correct how you guys use the word landlock . In INTERNATIONAL LAW, international waterways are straits, canals, and rivers that connect two areas of the high seas or enable ocean shipping to reach interior ports on international seas, gulfs, or lakes that otherwise would be land-locked. International waterways also may be rivers that serve as international boundaries or traverse successively two or more states. Ships have a right of passage through international waterways. This right is based on customary international law and treaty arrangements. |

JUGGERNAUT101:Try again next time. For now this will go to dust-bin This is my problem with people promoting one nonsense unity. You wanted to write nonsense and created a new moniker so that no one will know your real mind. Then after you will login into your real account and start preaching unity from Rome. Dust-bin straight. |

JUGGERNAUT101:You started well but as always, your Igbophobia got the better of you. First of all, Igboland is not landlocked, not while we have an international water so close to the Atlantic. The reality is that this development is paining you, and no matter how you tried to hide your pains, it still sticks out. Get grip of yourselves Secondly, what do you mean by Igbos antagonism to everyone, are okay upstairs? Has Ndiigbo ever fought with our neighbors on grandscale? Thirdly, you are not in position to tell Igbos what we need or want. If we say we want/need a river port and not a dry port, then you are a nobody to tell us otherwise. Keep your unsolicited advice to yourself. Finally. Enugu airport wasn't an International airport until Oduah made it so. Your Nigerians have spent billions on Lagos international airport for 50yrs plus, yet it's still an eyesore, but Igbophobic entities like yourself expect Enugu to be world standard after spending next to nothing on it for just 3years. You are the dumb one. Atiku and Buhari were two Fulani yet non could step down for each other. Buhari contested with Yaradua another Fulani in 2007. Obasanjo contested with Olu Falae in 1999. None stepped down for each other. Get off Igbo issues, we are not the cause of your misery in life. |
