Shut up you are becoming too childish and emotional, so even if they ran because there's nothing home is It now zamfara, Bauchi and Ekiti almajiri states that things are??

Why not ask the Chinese what they are doing in Zambia, perhaps the Chinese ran that far because there is nothing at home.. grin cheesy grin
You're a Mumu man!
Stop comparing south east Nigeria to China. They are billion years apart.

Am not in the cartegory of people you can boast to. I have toured 36 states in Nigeria deploying major infrastructures and know what plays. There is absolutely nothing in South East and why migration to the west is still celebrated there.

Tell me, what's in the South East that works independently? Civil service grin

what's Tolu saying... there's nothing like Eastern port

we only have
Western ports and
South South ports
Some of you should try to get little education though under age. The word Eastern port is quite different from the specific word South East port. These ports he mentioned were and still under the geographic defunct Eastern Nigeria which was actually and historically was the fastest growing region in the world in sixties along side of South Korea, Brazil, Malaysia etc.
Now coming again to what you wrote using the word western port. Edo and Delta which was formerly mid west and then Bendel state used to be under western Nigeria. So the right word for you to use is South west port and not western port going by your objections of the OP or whosoever. I hope I have clarify you a little about these.

So where is the South South?

I can't find it.
If you look at the diagram below, you'll see a South-South-West (SSW) and a South-South-East (SSE). That's the south-south.

www.nairaland.com/attachments/10957474_1200pxbrosenwindrose_svg_webp4429e7a2797fcd57554f58b20b61fbca

That's what inspired Dr Alex Ekwueme. He said that we had the Northern, Eastern and Western Regions at independence.

The Western Region had minorities. Those minorities became the Mid-West State (later Bendel and then Edo and Delta). That's the south-south-west.

The Eastern Region had minorities. Those minorities were fighting for a state called COR State. That's Calabar, Ogoja and Rivers provinces (presently Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Bayelsa). That's the south-south-east.

He brought these two together to create the south-south.

(The reason that he created these 6 geopolitical zones was because (1) he was afraid that the north would dominate Nigeria, so he wanted to reduce the power of the north and (2) the minority groups wanted their own regions, so the two southern minority areas, along with the north-central, have their own regions.)

However, this has got nothing to do with the naming of the ports. The NPA has two main port categories, (1) The Lagos Ports (2) The Eatern Ports and that's what Tolu Ogunlesi was rightly referring to.

you can only get some radio station in a particular state, star fm is based in Lagos and would get more yoruba callers than others..

It wasn't just a civil war, it was an expansionist plan by the igbos and whoever was supporting and manipulating the Igbos to attack and takeover the western region...

If igbos had been successful in the civil war there would have been millions of Yorubas killed so if Yoruba people are disgusted about a civil war that was meant to be between Igbos and fulanis but made the Yorubas part of it due to capital been Lagos and wanting to capture the capital the Igbos should understand the reasons for the disgust...

as an Igbo person you only see things from the Igbo point of view not the other person. humans naturally see things from their own point of view.
please explain to me how it was an expansionist agenda? The annoying thing is that the Yorubas are always uncomfortable with the Igbos I just don't know why. The person who led the troops to ore was Banjo. Will he command the troops to start killing any random Yoruba person they see? It's funny that your fathers and mother's were still going to school and having parties while mine were in the jungle running from air raids and assault rifles. To eat was even a Herculean task but The Yorubas are expecting the Igbos to see the war in the Eyes of the SW? I don't get you!! Millions of Yorubas killed by Igbos.?? Ojukwu had the option of killing the hausas in the east even though he would have been justified in doing so and didn't then it would be a fellow southerner that he would kill?? Stop over emphasizing your importance in the war because originally the people we clearly had beef with was the hausas but how your people carried it on their head like gala is baffling to me.!! How would igbos expand from the SE to the SW ?? Chaii. grin baba go sleep abeg.

Exclude Ogun and Oyo. But the point remains that the South West generally has a booming economy and why you will always find your lots in the most remote part of this regions.

We are not different. We are human first before tribal affiliations. The sooner you understand this the better for you.

One of the major problems we have as igbos is unrestricted pride and arrogance. We want to somehow Lord it over everyone with the mindset of "if it is not done out way then we will scatter everything". This is very wrong.

We are not the smartest nor the most hardworking because such abounds on every tribe and we need to start appreciating one another.

I see myself as a Nigerian first prior to being Igbo and this is why my mentality is at odds with yours.

My sister is married into a Yoruba family and I schooled and have friends with northerners even from the East where I went to school.

Igbos need to learn to be tolerant
dude. Cut the bull shit of my sister is married to this or that. That is no way a basis for unity. We are humans but we are different. Unless you want to decieve your self . The demarcation done in Europe doesn't mean they are stupid it only shows that people with similar traits and features can live and work together. The Igbos are full of them selves yes. The Igbos have pride. Yes. The Igbos are confident in their abilities yes. That is how they are created. And that is why they are Igbos. You don't expect an Igbos man to prostrate just because he wants to copy the type of respect Yorubas give their elders? Because they prostrate does not make others who don't to lack respect. I have issues with the Igbos too but I cannot live in denial. We are not one and will never be. Go to Twitter and see how the society is detiorateting. People are complaining bitterly. Why? Because we have failed to do what is right. We are just slaves to the British. If people cannot tolerate us then you cut the Igbos from Nigeria we must not be together. After all Igbos do not contribute anything according to some people.

We should also have southsouth naval command instead of eastern command which comprises Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross river and Ogbaru naval base Anambra which are all under eastern command naval command anu
N.S.E.W in Compass and maritime terms doesn't mean South East Region and the ports in question are in SS states/Delta Region. PERIOD.

Central and South America, the Caribbean are part of United States Southern Command, but are the countries in the Caribbean, Central and South America part of the US?

I have toured both states Oyo and Ogun, you can't compare Ogun to Anambra, or Oyo to Enugu, Imo to Ondo, Osun to Abia, Ekiti to Ebonyi southeastern states are far ahead of these your states in developments, I have lived in West befor relocating to east my wife was born and brought up in Akure, Ondo state, these states are backwards, you will understand better any day you visit southeast

As I just told NimrodEndOfDays, it is natural of humans to want to see and do things from their point of view..
humans are naturally selfish.
its not an Igbo thing.

it has nothing to do with tolerance.. we are our tribal affiliations first before humans.

most Igbos work in companies owned by Igbos, the same with Yorubas but Yorubas are more "stupid"(according to you - tolerant) in hiring non-yorubas.

its the same abroad. most people work in companies owned by someone of the same ethnicity as them...

its human nature to put ethnicity first... wh:ite people put race first, black people try to be tolerant and end up been victims of racism...

just like Nigeria - southern Nigerians try to be tolerant and end up been victims of tribalism from the northern Nigerians..

The sooner you understand this the better for you.
my dear. I understand enough for me to know how humans behave. That is why have to split. And as I said I lived with Yoruba people all my life so I don't think " Stupid" is a word I would use to describe them and no where did I give that impression. For peace to reign to your tents. If Igbos were fewer in the SW there won't be this much friction.

May be they run to the south west because south west is highly developed with strong infrastructure comparable to that of America and China. South westerners are the most educated people after canadians and they also have some of the most developed cities in Africa like oshogbo, Adoekiti and ibadan. Lastly south west people are the most sophisticated tribe in the world having cities with highly developed technology, well equipped first class Universities, the most technologically advanced villages in the world.
These are some of the reasons the igbos are running from their "undeveloped erosion ravaged eastern" Nigeria to civilized and high industrialized western Nigeria where every thing works. In fact, south west Nigeria could be regarded as a first world country unlike SE which cannot even be called 4th world or 5th world country. In fact, igbo land is the most undeveloped place in the world. Chad and Niger are 100 times better than igbo land. Now everybody is happy with this.

Only a dishonest person would say Buhari hasn't tried.

Successive governments have come and gone, yet they ignored the 2nd Niger bridge, railways, ports in the east, even roads.

We've been importing rice and even as poor as the average Nigerian is, he believes farming is beneath him.

Buhari has taken us back. Yes back to where we should have started. The foundation.

Don't be a zombie.

Those you fought for have switched allegiance from PDP to APC, yet you keep crying.

Key into the policies of today's government and watch how things unfold quickly.

Tolu was right when he referred to them as the Eastern Ports. The NPA previously had a zonal structure and according to that structure, what people call the Apapa Port is known as the "Lagos Ports" and those ports that Tolu referred to were known as the Eastern Ports. That was what he was referring to.

Eastern Port in maritime terms is a correct designation per N.S.E.W, but it doesn't change the fact that the ports are in the SS/Delta region.

Your obsession with the word Eastern is nothing but layman's semantics.
