Blindersoff:most Yorubas are educated illiterates. Northeast Nigeria is not homogeneously Fulani region, there are Fulani, Nupe, Kanuri, Bororo, etc but Yorubas are cool with it. Middlebelt comprises of Idoma, Birom, Tiv, Yoruba, etc tribes and Yorubas are cool with it. Eastern Nigeria was made up of Igbo, Ijaw, Urhobo, Calabari, Eket, Uron, Efik, Ibibio, Ndoki, Anioma, etc tribes but envy couldn't allow Yorubas and their Hausa-Fulani masters so they had to politically carve out Southsouth to spite Igbos yet they deny being envious and hateful of progressive Igbos and instead claim to be hypocritical progressives, jokers 5 Likes |

dandollaz:I am not a supporter of Buhari nor APC..but Jonathan really messed up regarding the affairs of the SS& SE that were ready to do everything to ensure he return to power..Name one thing is even started in the SS..all his effort was channeled toward the north, thinking he will get their vote but look what happened .He really messed up full time.He was the one that could have had more interest in reviving the Eastern port and the speedy construction of the second Niger bridge. PDP is not any better. They are just like this wicked party APC...that told us to be grateful & thankful that it is only beheading that is taking place and not bombing..so therefore we should appreciate the govt..Who does that..? PDP and APC and two evil sibling form the same mother with different father. 2 Likes |

Blindersoff:So you are saying that Igbos are myopic? Who exactly in Nigeria is visionary apart from the men of old? Who are the founding fathers. There is no leader presently that is visionary and I stand to be corrected. If you are Igbo as you claim, there is no wisdom and certainly no price disparaging your Ethnic group. It doesn't portray you as being unbiased it only shows you don't have value and regards for the ethnic group which you claim to belong. Bbbwings: Nobody is luring Igbos. Its thier right. If you like no vote for APC no one will hold you to ransom. But the Nation is for all tribe. The main reason why the port where redundant was because ships were afraid of birthing in those docks because of pirates hiding in niger Delta creek making life miserable for them and their business. They would rather use Lagos docks instead. so in summary we are the same people that make the country ungovernable for ourselves. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

SangoOlukosoOba: The facilities will create the businesses. People, jobs, increase in land and real estate value, schoos, hospitals and other subsidiaries. The only thing that attract people to lagos are the job opportunities and obviously not the slums and the exorbitant shacks rents. If those opportunities can be created efficiently in other parts the country, the population of lagos will disperse. 1 Like |

Sammy07: They go to where they have openings to fill and less competition. Just like the Jews, they are everywhere. Developing the east is a different ball game, because it will give Nigerians, not just the igbo more economic options of where to live, work and do business. It is futuristic approach and the reason why the country is still undeveloped. A step in the right direction. |

Dpharisee:South South may have no meaning in geography but it has meaning in Nigeria today and it covers the southernmost parts of Nigeria, also known as the Niger-Delta area - home of the proposed Niger Delta Republic of Adaka Boro and co. Geography can take note of that as a field of study. Some example usage of south-south: - UNDP and South-South Cooperation: https://www.undp.org/content/undp/en/home/2030-agenda-for-sustainable-development/partnerships/sdg-finance--private-sector/south-south-cooperation.html - India intensifies South-South Cooperation: https://www.undp.org/content/undp/en/home/presscenter/pressreleases/2017/07/14/india-intensifies-south-south-collaboration-through-the-united-nations.html - Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South%E2%80%93South_cooperation 3 Likes |

NimrodEndOfDays: A wise man does not quarrel with his neighbours when he knows they are sometimes the closest to him when kindred are far away. Case in point the igbos in yoruba land or even in other lands not belonging to igbos. I do not think you have heard of any other tribe resident in Igbo land quarelling with igbos but why must our own case always be differemt? The men of old abound in every tribe even in the so called minorities . You do not portray yourself as being wise. Igbos are known to be wise and not being foolish enough to poison their own food or destroy the bridges that take them to where they feed from. Don't be daft and little-minded. Lagos, Warri, Onne, and Calabar are all in the South. Heck, Lokoja should be made a port for lighter vessels. They should be distributed across the country for better logistics to target market and less environmental impact on Lagos. More so, they would extend economic growth and development to the host cities and states. It's not like ports are free for anyone who is in the export or import business. Whether you are from Lagos, Edo, Benue, Anambra, or Kano, duties will still be paid plus transportation costs. In your little mind, you think having Biafra calls for an embargo imposed by the surrounding states to stop the inflow and outflow of goods. How do thinks land-locked countries in Europe and other continents thrive economically? EWAagoyin: |
