No. Retaliate? For a travel ban. If their products are not useful to us we wont buy it. Nigerians will and are still travelling to the USA. I dont see any cause for alarm. They deny you visa simply apply to another country. The only thing you have lost is the visa money and stress. Travel and spend your money in another country

Actually most Nigerians can and use/buy such products daily....despite bing the poverty capital of the world Nigeria has a strong market setting that has been defying analytics since the early 90's. The major reason we are poverty capital of the world is because a large set of the population live below the dollar standard per day....but that is majorly in the north because let's face it that's where we have the largest population size in Nigeria with little development to support their size.....Nigerians actually have a lot of money under the bed....spending it lavishly is hard for Nigerians but we do spend enough to keep those companies Interested in our Markets. Nigerians spend about 300billion year on year shopping from abroad.

Most here are just dumbfucks. They really have no clue as to how huge the Nigerian consumer market is. Granted, it isn't the richest or largest in the world, But in africa, it is the MAJOR market hands down

In 2018, When Donald Trump imposed steel tariffs against Canadian Steel, Many Canadians responded by boycotting made in USA products.

If Nigerians are not good enough to travel to the USA, should we continue to patronize American companies like Apple, Amazon, Hewlett-Packard, Ford, GM Motors, Godaddy, Namecheap, Tom Ford, DKNY, Boeing, Tommy Hilfiger, Nike, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Levi's, Gap, etc?

And how is Canada today

Where they able to win the trade war, they lost the trade war and bend to Trump wish, the reason for USMCA

Need I remind you US is just one of the places they move our money to

Dubai...
UK..
Germany...
Switzerland...

The list is endless bro, and from wat I've heard(not 100% sure) Switzerland does not care about the source of ur cash, money enters there and disappears, Dubai too seems so

You do have a point here. The Plateau or Benue man will think twice before he defends a Fulani man from a non Nigerian.

And there's no longer lost between the Igbos and the Yorubas.

it's truly worrying, that what you wrote is the everyday reality of many of us

Sometimes I wonder why the white men seem to have a stronger sense for the common good of all ...

Bros, blame it on that old man in Abuja. They have no respect for him whatsoever and that's his own doing. Upon all the travelling up and down, we still get banned like the 4th world country he portrayed us to be.

Buhari should only rule the Abokis who thinks like him . His backwardness has put us in this shitty situation. He is worse than any President we've had. He's nothing but a bully. He wants the world to believe he's a noble man but nah, he's far from it and when he leaves, the new administration shall expose his excesses as well.

I don't know what I was thinking to have voted for this kinda human being. Took my dear Nigeria back to stone age.

Confused leader. undecided undecided undecided undecided

What travel ban? I thought the ban was on immigrants from Nigeria? As I understand it, you can still travel to visit on a valid visa.

Nigerians be claiming fastest growing economy in the world like birthright... With your boarders are closed Abi?

Give us verifiable statistics, not using some archaic index of comparison while people are dying of hunger daily and business folding-up.

Sets of clueless leaders who don't know how to grow an economy, very soon the likes of Kenya and Sudan will also issue travel ban to Nigerians

the ban does not stop politicians travelling overseas. The ban is not on student visa and other visas but on immigrant visa. The problem is we don't read. The ban is not on all Nigerians travelling to the US but on immigrant visa or h1b visa. F1 visa, tourist visa etc is not banned and the elites and politicians are not prevented from travelling the the US

is a welcome development, let the poor stay here in Nigeria to demand for good governance, hold their representative on accountability

the ban is a welcome development, banning these timid citizens from leaving this country we make them to get sense to protest against these useless cankerworms. no other route to jaapa again

I love the ban

We as a nation really need to imbibe a very STRONG sense of NATIONALISM..
You attack one of us you attack all of us..But tribalism has so eaten deep into our psyche that achieving this is almost impossible..Therefore the rest of the world will surely continue to treat us like the scum of the earth...

It has nothing to do with tribalism. Nigerian are not happy with the state of Nigeria as a country, major regions rightly believe that they are being exploited by a Fulani elite's that contribute only poor rulers and killer herdsmen. Very few Nigerian especially those in the South will not miss the demise of Nigeria as a country. India split into two countries, a prosperous India and a backward Pakistan.

When South Africans were killing our brothers and we said, let's boycott their products here, how many people stopped using MTN for that period? How many people boycotted Shoprite?

Patriotism is a scam.

I am a Being, and I buy quality stuff from quality brands irrespective of the location of their Head Offices.

And, let me add that I do not give a damn about any country.

I am a planetary being and I can live on any parcel of land irrespective of the location of the space in time be it Mars, Earth or Antarctica etc.

We are. We haven't risen above the animalistic instinct for self preservation and survival.

That's why the poor kill to get rich and the rich keep stealing for fear of becoming poor in future.

Most Nigerians are not well educated

Because patriotism is imbibed in every educational system
But the leaders cause these divisions naturally so that they can keep exploiting and using the people
