As a Nigeria, you might have heard people saying that when someone drinks garri, it means the person is poor and rached.

For example, people tend to laugh at those that soaks garri.

But that isn't the case.

I remember growing up, my parents won't allow us drink garri and most of my friends used to. I used to say when I grow up, I'll over drink garri...
I drank in the university sha A lot... But after, I can't stand it... While everyone drinks garri.. It's mainly to quench hunger.. People that drink garri for fun does that once in a while, that's why they take pictures...

If as a man you can only afford garri as a meal then you are very poor.
