First time someone will ask this question in a very long time cheesy

12th of Feb, I think

Hahaha. I have no other option for now. After all, when I didn't know of tbills, my money was just lying fallow in my bank account without interest. So, even the low rates is okay for me.

Thanks for the info.

But the Correspondent bank account provided by fbn quest is that of standard chartered in New york. When i asked, i was told i would be charged for making a transfer into a standard chartered account

tomtom370:
5% transfer fee from where to where?

If you run a dollar account with FBN, there shouldn’t be a transfer fee sending dollar to another FBN domiciled dollar account.

I opened Eurobond account with United Capital, and thankfully, their bank corresponded with my dollar account, so no need for transfer fee.

Oh! I see...Poor them.

You can do some value analyses to be sure the investment would be worth the transfer or otherwise.

All the best.

FGN Savings Bond rates via Morgan Capital.

5.9% interest undecided
Been preaching about Buyback here that gives 18% and 21% interest respectively on a one year investment

Please everyone how safe is Renmoney, I am planning on doing a fixed deposit with them at 10% per annum since treasury bills rates are still low. They have options of 1,2,3,6,9,12months. Please what are your suggestions? Is Renmoney solid?

Invest in real economy.Imagine folks that have 5 keke napep on the streets of Lagos. That's at least 5 unemployed people out of the streets and over 3 million naira worth of investments in Nigerian economy at 700k per each KEKE.All this gone down the drain over poor govt policy but the same govt wants you stop being greedy with TB and start putting your money in an economy that's so unstable

My brother. Inconsistency in government policies is a major factor to the success of a business. Some people will run at great loss. I won’t be surprise if those bikes and keke re appear in months to come and all of a sudden in years to come they will ban them again. Inconsistency on part of government. Business in Nigeria also need spiritual foresight, ask maxi and opay grin

Which bank did you use?

I'm looking at the possibility of making cash deposit into the provided account details. It should save some costs. Although I haven't found out if its possible.

I feel FGN savings bond was CBN's tool to drive down interest rates on Treasury Bills....afterall, it still gets oversubscribed

the patronage is very low. Its not appetizing. The last one for January had less than 500 million naira subscription for the 2 year tenor. Guys are not interested in it

Imagine the number of unemployed people on the streets of Lagos right now.Imagine the loss of revenue for both the state govt and business men from the sellers to the people that create employment by buying and giving out to people. But no,I want to pull my cash out and put it into this Nigerian economy where it can go in a twinkle of an eye. If your assertion is right, then why are the rates falling?

There was no assertion here. I simply said that the federal government issued a 2 years savings bond in January 2020 for about 7% and the total subscription amount was less than 500 million Naira alloted. As far as I am concerned, it simply means that it did not meet people's appetite.

CBN now reduce further the interest rate for February bond. I am not surprised because their policies have been more of A KALO KALO TYPE OF ECONOMY.

What do u think of a CBN regime with a monetary policy rate of 13.5%, inflation is over 11%. It issues Treasury bills to foreigners and banks @13%, while ordinary Nigerians are only allowed to participate in the 5% to 6% corridor.

It increased Loan to deposit ratio to make investors come forward for cheap loans to invest in the real sector. Later it increased the cash reserve ratio by 500 basis point to squeeze out more money from the banks.

Is this not a BETNAIJA ECONOMY?

Think about this

Bros i initially mentioned here about having about four kekes... got advise here to increase ...
Long story short
I intend to add two more to the fleet but the recent ban on keke in Lagos is really a concern i now feel skeptic getting more...
Although i reside in on of the south eastern states... i don't know if the south eastern governors would follow suit considering the ban in lagos...

You know Our government can copy n paste for Africa...
Who can forecast? What do you guys think?
Will appreciate your candid advise

Forget Keke for now. Go and buy those little Suzuki buses they call "Small Doctor". Put tracker and comprehensive insurance before putting it on the road. Make sure it is hire purchase.

Neccesity brought about Ekene Dili Chukwu using big buses, neccesity brought about Peace Mass Transit using small buses.

Hello, please can you let me know which bank United Capital uses for their Eurobond. Because I have Access band Dom and Stanbic Dom. I would not like to go open another bank's Dom. I also have GTB euro Dom. U can imagine.

United Capital said cash deposit doesn’t work for them, only transfer. They use FCMB Dollar account.

I guess it’s same with most platforms. Please confirm from your financial coy.

Best!

Unlike keke that excessively has both...
Anyways lets see as things unfold...
