Good morning everyone. Please do I need my 6 months bank statement when using a gift deed for my POF or will a statement for just that day do? Also, can my POF be in a bank account that I rarely use..although the account was opened at least 3 years ago. I also intend to put the funds in fixed deposit in the same bank. Thanks.
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 9 by bankyh1905(m): 5:44am On Feb 06, 2020
Here's how I see it: you only need last month's statement of account which will show the money inflow. Also, you can use that account as long as you can get a ref letter from the bank. The gift deed document and transfer slip should complement.

Thank you very much. I want to put the money in fixed deposit. A certificate of investment in addition to the documents you mentioned should suffice right?

This part is wrong as GTB issued my wife a Letter of Non-indebtedness and she doesn't have a salary account with them. She also hasn't collected any loan before.
We were charged 500naira each for both Ref letter and Indebtedness letter as shown on the transaction history on mobile banking

Okay

Dear Ayandee....I would advise you not too be too worried if you are unable to get a letter of non indebtedness...

C) get your relationship manager to get one of the credit bureau print outs (I think there are 3 or 4 omcredit bureaus) for you showing you do not have any outstanding loans in Nigeria...careful with this though...the report is sometimes inaccurate/lagged and may show old loans that have been paid off.
D) go to the head office and ask for the branch manager, escalation often works.

You'll be alright. All the best!

I like your submission but the stress of points C and D on top letter of non indebtedness.

I think he/she is moving with the tide of people that submitted the letter hence the worries on not getting it.

I hope others that didn't use it will calm him/her down. I didn't and @banky... didn't, he already got his COPR

Please, any idea how many points can someone get with a year of working experience?

winner01:

Thanks. That has been a concern because due to the information I was given, I was planning to use only one year experience from when I completed my last degree which was Aug 2018.

But if it's allowed to use years of working experience while on school, that's even great.

The person who gave me the information also has 3+ years working experience but finished her masters April 2019 and she's done her ECA report, so she's waiting for April 2020 to be able to claim 1 year working experience.

Hello, did you get a letter of non-indeptedness for your mutual funds account? Or the regular bank account.

It's IRCC's opinion that you must provide a letter (among others) which lists "outstanding debts such as credit card debts and loans". Now, either you took loans or not, the bank needs to make that clear. See here for more details.

PS: GTBank has been known not to give such a letter (as was my experience). That's still okay as its reference letter (with its wordings) sufficed.

Didn't submit any letter of 'non indebtedness'. Gotten my PPR already

Skilled work experience during studies OUTSIDE of Canada does count as long as it was paid and NOC 0,A,B.
This is according to IRCC and several students have got PPR this way.
It might not be common in some parts of the world, but in the western world, going to school full time and working full time is quite common.

Okay.
I’m glad to hear this.
Thanks

This confused me anyway

You definitely can. Go to Modify Family Information and adjust accordingly

Hi guys , my score of 468 (me and my wife) seems to be hard to get these days , I wanna go alone as unaccompanied spouse before my birthday but that part of the form is refusing to edit. Is it that you can’t edit that once you submit your profile or what? Do I need to start a fresh application?
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 9 by Mrsc22: 8:51am On Feb 06, 2020
I think you should just be a bit patient (if your birthday isnt too close). 468 is not bad and any moment from now, you can get ITA.

Dear Ayandee....I would advise you not too be too worried if you are unable to get a letter of non indebtedness...my take on the requirement below (circled) is that they need to state if you have loans or credit. Where a bank has not stated this, it can be assumed that none exists.

What I would advise is:
A) do a one paragraph LOE (if it helps you sleep better) saying you do not have any loans or debt and that is why no mention of this is contained in the bank reference letter.
B) do an email to the customer care dept of the bank saying you want to confirm if you have any loans etc and scan the response with your application.
C) get your relationship manager to get one of the credit bureau print outs (I think there are 3 or 4 credit bureaux) for you showing you do not have any outstanding loans in Nigeria...careful with this though...the report is sometimes inaccurate/lagged and may show old loans that have been paid off.

Thank you so much. I eventually got it yesterday after a lot of drama. Left the banking hall at 7p.m

Why don’t you do CIMA instead. Its all year round instead of waiting till September. Then wait another 6/7weeks for certificate.

Thanks @Mrsc22. Please how long does CIMA take, how long will it take to complete the course

What I’ve read is that you have to have a valid reason for spouse unaccompanying, like s/he has just started a new job, has to take care of a sick parent etc.
You can join a group or thread on family sponsorship to help you make an advised decision.
