Olusegun Awe Obe describes the Supreme Court judgment on the 2019 Imo State governorship election as a miracle that overthrew all known judicial precedents |

With the decision of the Supreme Court that Uche Nwosu was the duly nominated candidate of the APC, it becomes logical to conclude that Senator Hope Uzodinma was not a candidate at the election. This is because by the provision of section 87 of the Electoral Act, no person can contest for any elective position unless he contests and wins a primary election and a duly nominated candidate is the only one who can stand for election unless he withdraws in writing or he dies.https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2020/02/14/how-imo-governorship-election-verdict-generates-judicial-crisis/

It is surprising that the Supreme Court had forgotten its judgments and decisions as contained in our law reports on the need to call eye witness evidence in proof of election petitions, inadmissibility of hearsay evidence including documentary hearsay and also the import of dumping of documents without having them demonstrated in open court or relating them to aspects of the petitioners’ case, even as their decision in the case of Abubakar Atiku v. Major General Buhari is very much fresh in their memory.Hatchet job gone bad. This is one of the worst judicial precedence(legalisation of judicial robbery) the Tanko-led Supreme Court have set today in Nigeria. |

Is Tanko a judge, someone that didn't pass through the NBA, It's like claiming to be a Bsc holder without passing Waec and Jamb, The worst thing that happened to the judiciary is having an outdated Fulani illiterate at the helm of affairs, that Man is worst than HIV virus, ebola and corona virus. |

The Supreme Court goofed on the Imo Judgement, the presiding judges should have ordered a re-run. After which APC will use their federal might to rig their way to the seat. |

Once the Supreme Court has entered judgment in a case, that decision is final and will remain so for ever. The law may in future be amended to affect future issues on the same subject, but for the case decided, that is the end of the matter. |

backbone503:The two cases are quite different. In fact the Imo case is quite different from all the other cases. Imo is the only case where Supreme Court actually aided and abetted fraud and rigging. And I think it is quite intentional going by how the SC bent itself out of shape to carefully avoid mentioning numbers in their judgment, in a case that is all about numbers! Also notice they said nothing about meeting “the required constitutional geographical spread of votes”! Because they know the numbers make no sense - the man gave himself 2 times the registered number of voters in some places! Then when INEC gave him certificate the next day, they carefully made sure NOT to release final tally of votes (because they know they’d be laughed at!) How hard is it to obtain INEC documents, write any results u wish, keep the carbon copies, and destroy the rest?? Or is it that it is so hard to obtain INEC documents?? The ONLY way to checkmate that is to accept INEC’s word, UNDER OATH, that they never issued those documents! I am not at all into politics at all, but here is what someone into Imo politics wrote: Imo people did not vote for Hope. Hope didn't even campaign in Imo because of the APC crises between him and Rochas who was fronting his in-law, Uche Nwosu. On the day of the election, Hope and some APC loyalists were lodged in a Hotel in Owerri writing results after INEC announced results. They brought the results and were compelling returning officer to announce but he refused that it was fake that even party reps have raised the alarm. |

I knew I was opening another long, boring crap, these should relax, haven't they gone back to court? They should allow the supreme Court decide for the unprecedented second time. All these blackmailing and intimidation won't work. |

Interesting write up. Clear facts. Anyone with a contrary fact should bring it forward. But normal Zs of NL chapter will come to insult everyone. Solomon8144:Do they ever know anything? Programmed robots. ybalogs:APC scored own Goal in Bayelsa. Supreme Court scored own goal in IMO. backbone503:Sadly, hurt as it may. But Bayelsa is better off with someone who can't get pre-election issues right. Let it be a lesson for anyone with good intention for the people but is not thorough. Our electoral process is undergoing a lot of changes for the better. |
