I attended my interview this Morin at Austrian embassy Abuja. After all I was told that they will send my application to the Austria immigration and get back to me. The interview was quite tough anyway. Unnecessary questions were flying during the interview.

Boss, for clarification please it was written on their website that one need to book an appointment before you can submit your application. Is it that they have changed the rule or what? .Thanks.

you don’t need to book an appointment, just make sure you get there early (VFS) for submission.

Hi nairalanders, i am planning to apply for a schengen tourist visa. But i am stuck in between italy and France. I am 30, single but engaged, been to South Africa in the year 2017 and i have been to Ghana as well that same year. I registered my business as an enterprise in the 2018. So i will know to know what's my chances of getting a France tourist visa and is it advisable that i book a prepaid accommodation or an oridnary reservation will be okay.

Is the proof of pension very important? I work in an organisation where they deduct tax and pension from my salary but I'm sure I don't have a pension account. As such, I'm not so sure I can provide the pension statement.

On my letter of offer, the salary is clearly stated including the deductions (both tax and pension).

Will I be able to apply without the pension statement? I earn a little above 250K monthly

Submit copy of your offer letter and bank statement for your salary account.

No one can tell you what your chances are. You may list out your intended documentation so everyone can assist you if any is outstanding.

If you've been through the UK visa process previously, then completing the forms for a Schengen visa and gathering the required supporting documents will be easy for you.

As at 2012, the UK visa process was still paper based and offline, just like the Schengen process is. The Schengen visa form is much much shorter than the UK one (just 3 pages) and easy to complete. Unlike the UK form, you dont need help in completing it.

You have travel history, good home ties and a reasonably good income, so simply put together a coherent itinerary for your trip, save up a commensurate amount in your bank account (vacations are not cheap, so you have to show that you can afford to travel, then come back and still resume your normal life after the expenditure), book verifiable accommodation online, make sure your leave dates and other information tallies with what you will fill in the form, and you're all set. If you need any specific help as you go along, after reading through here, then you just ask.

A pension account statement is not absolutely necessary. Just like property title documents, it's a document that one can present if you have it, as part of evidence showing your ties to Nigeria, but if you don't have it, it's fine.

Everyone's case might not necessarily be the same. If you've been invited for an interview, as usual, arm yourself with the truth. I had to go to Abuja to be interviewed for my first Austrian visa and in my case they concentrated on my travel history (I had previously consulted for an international organisation which required my making a couple of trips to some out-of-the-way places).

I will be submitting my application on Tuesday at the vsf office for Netherland visa.

Please do I need to write a letter introducing myself and mission to Netherlands (conference) even duh i already have a letter from my employers.

Who do I address such letter to.

If she doesn't work or earn income, you have to ensure that you present very good financials to cover what is essentially a luxury trip for two persons with no travel history and enable them to continue living comfortably after their return, and throw in more documentation to evidence more and stronger ties to Nigeria.

You can add your savings account if the balance will favour your case. The Europeans do not bother about verifying all credits in accounts the way the UK does.
