In a world of social media, hostile intelligence officers can use LinkedIn to acquire a list of current or former people at a particular company or agency with specific job titles in a matter of seconds.

Here where you get it wrong. You still see spec ops through the prism of cold war lens. Today US special ops team number close to 75,000 men.

Today's special ops teams are primarily counterterrorism teams. In Nigeria we have the AFSF and MSF leading conventional attacks and backed by the rest of the army.

I'm not referring to long range reconnaissance teams.

As we can see special forces in Turkey, Russia, and America. They are heavily armed, heavily armoured with the support of significant air power.

Even if you have extremely expensively trained specops how to suport them when your conventional forces are ill equipped with scant obsolete platforms? My goodness-they still have WW 2 T-34s!?

T-34-85 Soviet Union Medium Tank 45[27] obtained from Czechoslovakia

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republic_of_Guinea_Armed_Forces

Just remembered we already had this convo last year concerning Cote de Ivoire, another underequipped force.

True but IRL the very role of a spec ops unit recce, sabotage, deep penetration all done clandestinely demand immediate light and conventional forces follow up. Imagine being the commander of a half section after having tracked and followed a coy of Burkinabe mercs into a forested savanna for 3 days. You call for a AF bombing mission only to be told:"Nigga, are you high!? Our Alpha is in the hangar-we told you when at the pre mission brief!"
Imo,properly equipping conventional forces should be their priority.

Getting proper equipment/training and tactics for conventional forces should be the priority instead of training a handful to make tacticool displays.

What is the defence budget of Guinea and Ivory Coast.

There is no way guinea can have a well equipped conventional army, it's not possible as they have no money.

What they can have is a small well trained special force, equipped with armoured vehicles or AA mounted on pick-up trucks and backed by French air power.

As we all saw in Nayrab in Syria this weak, a competent air force can ensure victory for an ill-equipped force provided that the enemy has no air cover of it's own, even in the case were the enemy has a better army.

https://www.facebook.com/CarvinH/videos/3540345139369973/

Firstly the Rooikat is not even close to being an APC.... A broad definition would place it as an AFV but to be more specific its a Reconnaissance vehicle. Secondly the SA Army isn't designated SAA that designation is for South African Airways.

Lastly nobody is perfect, you can even youtube army fails and you'll see even more glaring mistakes by militaries from Europe and America it was a simple mistake that is being investigated by the SANDF.

Deal with the issues. Recklessness is quite pervasive in the SANDF.

We're talking about a peacetime army, not one at war.

What about this one?

This incident is reckless yes hence why it's being investigated, however recklessness is certainly not pervasive in the SANDF....as you claim

Also it doesn't matter if its a peacetime army or not, accidents happen all over the world with every military in the world... Including the Nigerian military.

That is not a demo, it was a rehearsal. The vehicle came from an incline at a high speed while having a high turn radius.

This is what rehearsals are for, to test your setup. Even professional dancers fall during rehearsals.

Get over it, move on.

One cannot have SF doing the job of infantry and one cannot have infantry doing the job of SF .

Both will end in disaster.

Using SF in counter terrorism ops must be restricted to realms of SF operations only.

Counter terrorism operations are a niche domain which requires specific trainings and specific tactics.

Everytime troops are trained for CT ops , after completion of deployment they must be retrained for their original role be it conventional warfare or be it special operations warfare. And it must repeated every time they are inducted or deinducted.

Back home it was found infantry trained for conventional warfare and even SF was unsuitable for CT ops.

So a specialised division RR was created , units under it were trained for CT ops and when the units were rotated out after completion of tenure they were retrained for their original role. It happens everytime a new or old unit comes in.

Same for SF , they were trained for SF tactics in support of CT ops. Like going for covert ops inside urban areas or undertaking intel based time critical ops where secrecy and efficient execution is paramount.

How Nigeria is exploited.

One of the criticisms is that Nigeria exports oil only to import the same oil back again because it cannot refined enough for domestic needs. Why spend million on defense instead of building the economy first

This is redundant. Nigerian has a lot of modular refineries which are privately owned.

Nigeria also has the world's largest refinery, with a capacity to refine 650,000 barrels per day.
