I think u are absolutely correct when I visited Lagos in 2018 I couldn't believe my eyes that this was actually the popular Lagos debris and very terrible bad roads can be seen everywhere. There's really nothing too special or fascinating about that place I can't live there.
A state with a beautiful name but highly overated.

Every state or country feeds off something to be developed

SonOfEl:
Some states in Nigeria are actually more progressive than they look, at least by African standards, so these places are considered as underrated.

I picked these states based on their high economic index, low social perception and fledging human resources.

1. Ogun State - people say this state only feed off from Lagos State and Oyo (Ibadan)

2. Abia State - poor infrastructure has attracted strong and sometimes unfair criticism on this state.

3. Kano State - Kaduna and an army of almajiri has taken the shine off this state

What's your own list of most underrated states?

So which of your igbotic state as all that you have listed ?! Oh ! I should not talk about the 5 Igbo state that have been run aground by PDP politicians ? I heard Abia as now been officially declared as the dumping ground state from hell that every living soul can't wait to be evacuated from. Do you not have a comment on that ?

Oh! I forget your pathetic existence would rather remove the log in Lagos eye instead of that of your igbotic foolish n cursed soul. What a shame of pathetic magnitude your existence is all about.

all states in Nigeria are dead. with useless and overhyped ignorant idiotic governors who steal and embezzle the future of their kids and unborn children. if Abuja Lago and PortHarcourt cannot match any of the states in South Africa in terms of development then we are not better than togo or benin. Nigeria doesnt have any state with high standard of living. how many coutries do you have people trekking long distances and being stressed the hell out just to go to work? Nigeri is just one big shithole

2) Akwa Ibom
3) Cross River
4) Ogun

States that have been badly stereotyped:
1) Abia
2) Ebonyi
3) Bornu

Nothing concerns the matter on ground who whoever is Borno governor... Borno is ruined forever, unless the world ends today

And how about Abia?
Re: The Most Underrated State In Nigeria Goes To Who? by Sylraph1: 12:21pm On Feb 27, 2020
For me I will go with Abia state

That state is very industrious that if well manage by a good leader will be one of the most industrious state in Nigeria.....

There is a saying that that states 'ABA N'AZU UMU OGBENYE' meaning 'Aba feeds the hunger'.

It's almost impossible to stay in Abia state especially Aba and complain of hunger because once you are Agile, Smart and an opportunist,my brother,u go make am there....

A place you will see STAUNCH HUSTLERS,young boys serving thier masters(boy boy), young guys doing their business not even the girls are left out.People from different parts of NIGERIA troop in daily to buy goods,Trailers fully loaded and leaving in their numbers;was even surprised the day I realise CAMEROONIANS come to Aba to buy goods.

They lack infrastructure...true,but apart from Lagos, port Harcourt and Anambra i don't think there is any other state that can stand them in terms ofHUMAN CAPITAL
If you feeling you are not doing well or that you are life is crumbling, guy go to Aba and you will be challenged.....

What they need is competent and smart leaders and not some bunch of CRIMINALS with pot bellied stomach marauding as politicians....

Am not from Abia but am speaking from mine and many other people's numerous experiences..

Abia should be merged back with Imo State. Her existence is an assault to common sense.

Visit other states and you will realise that Lagos is underdeveloped when compared with her IGR and debt profile. Aside major roads, Lagos lacks motorable internal roads. Very poor drainage system. Sewage system is none existent as people drink borehole water that has been filtered of sewage and feaces. GROSS!!!

You are 100% right. Lagos is overhyped and not in any way close to all the attention given to it.

Abia state is the most underrated state on Nairaland because of a busy section of Aba city that has bad roads and poor sanitation.

Below is Umuahia planning and Aba planning

Abia state:

A poor and unkept small section of a city doesn’t mean the whole state is like that.

This is also Aba.

Abia is not underatted. It is a poor state especially in terms of infrastructure.

If you've been to neighboring states like Port Harcourt, Enugu, Akwa Ibom, Imo, Ebonyi e.t.c you'll know the difference.

True talk bro, most times I do tell lagosians that there's nothing spectacular about Lagos, personally I do visit Lagos once or twice in a month and I do tell them that I am always relieved Whenever I am on the exit journey out of Lagos. Looking around Lagos I see so much unpleasant stuffs some of which you have just stated, no good internal roads, the few available ones are riddled with potholes. The hygienic conditions are abysmal....

I've had this several times even from my cousin who's serving presently in Ogun state.

I couldn't believe it, I felt it was just the area he serves but it seems it's same opinion shared by many

Ogun state's IGR and it's proximity to Lagos has boosted it's hype but a trip to the State may leave you disappointed with the level of development you will see. You can just immediately search for Google Map Satellite images of all the famous places you know in Ogun state and zoom in to see for yourself.
