I am not misleading prospective investors but they should open their eyes so that they don't fall into the same pit I fell in 1990.

Oga that is what you are doing right now. Let's be careful in the use of words. Have you gone to verify your investment since investment one took over the management of the fund in 2014? Were you able to provide the necessary documentations? I can tell you all investors in any of investment one products are treated in accordance with rules and guidelines on the product prospectus which turn is regulated by SEC, You can as well click on this link https://www.pressreader.com/nigeria/thisday/20150225/281741267870016 to get to know the action investment one took then as they took over.the management of the fund

Pls can someone explain this marginal rate in FGN bonds. Will the interest be paid: 12.75, (5years) 14.55 (10years) and 14.80 )30yrs)
Or will they be paid: 8:75(5yrs) 10.70(10yrs) or 12.1(30 yrs)
Thanks.

Let me repost my previous response on this below.

It is usually very tricky with FGN bonds. One rule of thumb is, always keep your eyes on the yield to maturity. For example, a bond could have a coupon rate of 15% and you are told that the yield is 10%. If u don't want to mess up with your head, just look at that 10% as your annual interest on your capital. Although you will be earning the 15% but on a lowered principal. For example, if you want to invest 8M on a bond paying 15% coupon and the yield is 10%; you will buy that bond with more than 8M depending on the year to maturity. Let's say you got the 8M bond at 10M, your coupon payments every 6 months will be 15% of 8M and your principal at maturity is 8M and not 10M. At the end of the day, if u factor in your initial 10M put in the bond, you will realize your interest is actually 10%. So if u want a bond, keep an eye on the yield unless you are getting it in the primary market and it's a new bond issue.

Your bank or discount house should help you. With banks, always patronize the headquarters or main branch Inna state or region so u can easily meet people with the knowledge

I posted this from dmo website and it’s from primary. It’s bidding result, does it also apply?

Yes it applies. The only time it doesn't apply is if the Bond on sale is not a reissue or it's just a fresh bond. Example is the savings, green and sukuk bond in the primary market.

Assuming you open a savings account at 4% per annum last year January and this year the same bank is now offering savings account at 3.6% per annum, will it affect the account you opened earlier?

Yes. Interest is accrued everyday at current rate. It is only if it is a term(fixed) deposit that it will not affect it because a term or fixed deposit is a contract while a savings account is not a contract.

Nairaland obviously housed so much information that it should transformed into our own google. There was a time on this thread when the issue of BDC license acquisition was extensively discussed. Today a colleague came to discuss that someone want to sell off his BDC license to him @17m. I told him it was too high and I began to lecture him on the process of obtaining one from CBN (depositing 35m for a period of 3 - 9month, getting and office space for inspection till when CBN will issue license, then the refund of the 35m plus a 7% interest) and the profit margin he would be getting thereafter. He just opened his mouth as I speak with authority. At the end I advise him not to buy the license more than 3 - 5m.
In my presence he called the owner, the man tried to hide the truth by telling him that cbn will collect 42m, rather than 17m, but he never disclose the sum will be returned with interest

We have not said anything different from comment you just posted. I posted some tweets screenshots where CBN said u can only transfer what was transfered to you electronically and also cash out only amount that was paid in as cash. I also used figures to explain the scenario. There is no ambiguity here talk less of reading between the lines.

See my comments below.
unite4real:

If u have$1000 in your account such that $300 was wired to it while $700 was cash payment directly. It means u cannot wire out more than $300 and cannot cash out more than $700.

The total.amount u can cash out must not exceed the total you have paid in as cash and vise versa

So if anyone wired money to you, you cannot take that amount out as cash. You can only wired it for another transaction.

My interpretation is slightly different from yours based on the wordings of the CBN tweet.
My understanding is that you can cash out both electronic and cash deposits but cannot transfer cash deposits.
So using your case study. The total $1000 can be physically withdrawn whereas you can only transfer the $300 that came in through transfer and not the $700.
The reason I believe is that the electronic transfer always has a trail that can be tracked, the same cannot be said for the cash deposit which will only start having a paper trail from the point when the transfer starts.
I hope I am applying what my night school teacher taught me and not just applying wishful thinking sha.
