that try to maintain originality by allowing the status quo but in reality they hold no such power anymore like the precolonial time...it is not just unique to Nigeria. Even in other countries the government do remove traditional head, i could remember something similar happened in Spain or so. The issue is monarchy is no longer practised, so these traditional head or kings don't hold power like a political position
