Hi, house.

I am very new to stock investment, I majorly invest in money market mutual fund but with the current cut in TB rate which drives mutual fund rate to around 5-6% and inflation around 12% I was forced to look into stock, so I both Mtn stock (@129) and GTB(@28) but with the current market condition I am really getting scared of my position. would you advise I count my lose and sell or I should just wait? I was expecting Mtn to at least rise cause of there good quarterly report but na lie..

Any input is well appreciated.

thanks

I believe the bottom is in this March for all stocks worldwide.

Leave those your old stocks, and use fresh cash to buy the bargains that are available on the floor.

I think we need to interpret what is happening in global stock markets especially US as it relates with ours.like someone said earlier, it's a health issue not a financial crisis.

The reason for the volatility of Dow is the spike in the cases of the virus in the country. This will definitely lead to panic and fear hence the selling spree.

Coming back home, there has only been 2 cases here in Nigeria. Our exchange has had it's fair share of the volatility. Most stocks have either reached their 52wk low or broken it and are reversing.

I am of the opinion that although there might be drop in prices of stocks but it will not be as bad as few weeks ago.

This is the period of maximum panic. So just continue buying small small until your money finishes. grin grin

Those of us that bought Zenith at bottom-pot price are already having 18% gain. grin

With the Zenith dividends paid to guys now, they will start to bid up prices in a bid to average down.

Dow will recover a greater portion of the losses this month. The liquidity is there. Other countries are supplying as well.

Traders are just waiting to hear that US and EU cases peaked. After that, we no go see road for market o.

Everything is going south, one direction, stocks & commodities.

Even Gold is following them, everyone want to hold cash.

It only shows the amount of panic and fear out there.

We go dey alright las las.

Gold already knows what it will see. grin

Gold is seeing the volume of cash that will chase equities, so it is running first.

Gold needs to crash to 1,100. The gold bear just started.

I think the responses thus far will at least prevent such from happening... Central banks, govts are even front-loading solutions to these problems. And if and that's a big IF, any of this happens, it will be a soft landing one...

BTW, this moment is what Warren Buffet talked about - Four or five times during their lifetimes, investors will see incredible opportunities in equity markets and they have to have the mental fortitude to jump in when most are jumping out.
if you know, you know.... No shaking!

I like that quote.

Who will imagine that Dow will fall from 29K+ to 20K+?

And stocks getting cheaper. See all IOC stocks. Chai.

This thing may spiral out of control!

EU were laughing at Chinese when they employed the measure of locking down Wuhan city to prevent the outbreak. They were saying that it was a communist country and such can be found.

Instead of them to have acted and put contingencies in place, they kept laughing and opened their borders to allow tourists in.

Now they are locking down a country grin grin

So which measure was worst? Lockdown a city or lockdown a country? Ordinary commonsense.

EU stocks are now very cheap. Strong BUY!

Powell acted based on pressure from treasury secretary and other president alias who want more stimulus money but deal gone wrong. Anyway they are planning helicopter stimulus package ($1,500/$2,000) monthly to every adult citizen/resident to enable them take care of some bills because of these Coronavirus pandemic. Morning Guys, weldone for a good job you are all doing creating wealth for the future. Please i want to ask, IF i buy UBA and GTB at the current price today, will i qualify for dividend?
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by millennium2012: 9:35am On Mar 17, 2020
Pastor, I think you're referring to the time of Great Tribulation. The Great Tribulation is not here yet. That supposed to start after the rapture of the saints. What you see now is a tea in iceberg. Refer to book of Revelation. Anyway, I think we're in the wrong thread.

No worry yourself. As long as you had the shares before or on qualification date you will get your dividend.
