Can anyone confirm that Morgan Capital has increased their broker commission to 0.5% from 0.25%

Those of us that bought Zenith at bottom-pot price are already having 18% gain. grin.

It's 18% already true true.

Say GT clocks anything below 20.50 tomorrow, we are looking at sub 18. Those who will buy early on Thursday markdown day, the speed of the reversal no go get part 2. In a twinkle, it will go from sub 18 to sub 20.

Most times is difficult for a black man to appreciate or praise his fellow black man when he's good at what he does.
My brother I respect your wealth of knowledge. I have really followed your comments here for a very long time. You are really good at what u do bro. I think most of us are privileged to have u around. I know most of our Ogas and Madam that share their wealth of knowledge here for free. I say may God continue to increase u all in all ramifications of life.
You all wouldn't know the people u most have saved from wrong investments and how many Millionaires or Billionaires u have made through your input here.
May u continue to be humble even in times of pressure here which I see sometimes. God bless u all and equally bless us too.

Please Ma'am, will I still qualify for Gtb dividend if I buy tomorrow? Since tomorrow is the markdown. As it stands, I gave my analogue stockbroker instruction to buy, but I don't think my bid was successful. Cashcraft can really delay.

Please leave analogue brokers, open an account with a broker that offers an online trading platform and save yourself headache.

If people here including me begin to relate our experience with Cashcraft this thread go full. I wonder how they are still in business.

Thanks bro. Even my Penny earning Annuity Scheme (PEAS) that is with them, they have stopped it since last year. Return investors money has been an issue till date. Something I did that was suppose to run for 21 years, they just stopped it along the line. Thanks for your advice.

I think we need to interpret what is happening in global stock markets especially US as it relates with ours.like someone said earlier, it's a health issue not a financial crisis.

The reason for the volatility of Dow is the spike in the cases of the virus in the country. This will definitely lead to panic and fear hence the selling spree.

Coming back home, there has only been 2 cases here in Nigeria. Our exchange has had it's fair share of the volatility. Most stocks have either reached their 52wk low or broken it and are reversing.

I am of the opinion that although there might be drop in prices of stocks but it will not be as bad as few weeks ago.

I know "health is wealth" sounds like a cliche but it's not far from the truth. I believe it's a financial crisis inasmuch as it's a health one. There's numerous research into how health of the populace affects the economy of a nation (indices such as gdp, etc.) If we truly see the big picture here you'll understand that this are uncertain times, market hates uncertainty. Factories are closed, supply chains are broken and it'll be so for the better part of a month or two, or even longer. What happens when the supplies run out and the factories are not back up yet. What happens to those that depend on menial jobs to get through. Economies are grinding to a halt and it'll take a lot to resurrect them after this is over.

Nobody knows anything about this virus, we don't know if these cases that have recovered will remain immune, nobody knows if it's seasonal or whatever. It's still being found out.

How long this contagion carries on will determine if this becomes a full-fledged economic recession.

Good evening NL.

Please I need your help with information. (I am new to the stock/shares market)

My mum has had this stock broker friend with an active firm in Victoria island handle her shares for some years now. I am planning on buying few shares myself, I told her my plans and asked her to link me up with anyone she knows. That was when the topic changed o.

According to her, the last time she received any dividend from her shares which includes GT.bank was about 3years ago. Now eh, that time the total investment was 5m. Last year she called the lady, and she said something about shares crashing and now money don drop to 3m.

*This my question guy...

- What are the documents I am meant to request from this lady, that would show the history of her shares. Inflow and outflow of funds etc.( Just like a bank account has a statement of account)

- She has an account with GT.bank, can I present a "power of authority" to the bank. Cos at this point she needs me to handle the account, she doesn't stay in Nigeria.

Another Tbills mature on Thursday.. Will be in the mkt to buy more Gtb if I see a good bargain.. Brought down aggressively from 32 to 21.90.

Thinking I shld stop today and wait after div to buy at fair price .. Hope it works out

Your comment is on point. You missed the point I was trying to pass. Europe is now the epicenter of the virus including the US. Because of the proportion at which the infection is doubling, measures are being taken one of which is lock down (no movement except necessary). This has led to shutdown of systems in the affected nations.

Automatically panic will set-in to sell stocks, etfs, etc. leading to drop in the indices.

Coming to Africa,

Is the virus doubling here? NO

Is any nation on lock down? NO

Has Schools, business, movements been restricted? NO.

Are we here going about our normal lives as if nothing is happening? YES.

Since Nigeria is dependent on forex and our main cash flow is still oyel, we had to at some point partake in the Index drop.

Am not in anyway saying that you are wrong, all am saying is that if the virus was pandemic in Africa or say Nigeria as a country and we had to go on lock down like Italy and France, it could have been much more worse to the point fundamentally sound stocks like Zenith and GTB will be selling below #5.

But since it's not pandemic here and our index has had it's share of drop, stocks are beginning to reverse. So our case is really different.

Am sure some people where in awe when our market didn't nose-dive today because the US index dropped almost 3000points yesterday. My explanation above was the reasons why.

I hope you understand.

Try and open account with a digital broker so you can trade by yourself and move your stocks too.
Cashcraft is not what it used to be before, they are not catching up with the prevailing trend and I fear for them if they don't do something urgently to handle this.
