Many do not understand human rights in Nigeria. If the school and teachers did, they would never have touched the child.

Now they will learn the hard way.

Kudos to the parents for teaching the ignorant teachers what the rights of a student, despite being under their care, should be.

Whatever happened to that foolish female secondary principal that was conducting virginity tests on the female students in a senior secondary school some years ago?

chaiii moral decay
this is the reason why our children of these days are nothing to write home about
during our time this is a routine stuff and the public stuff for the dirty pupils while others watch in amusement.

the shame only will make you remind your parents next time to do the needful.

Honestly things have changed

And how have we helped shape the society today, we are even morally worse than our grandfather's that ruined and still running this country.

In a paid school...bad behaviour from the teacher

In a public school...moral standard by the teacher

Those teacher's got what they deserved.. They have no right at all to shave a student's hair without the parents or guardians consent.

Keep raising Malians, one day they will start with you. Irresponsible parent like you. Why don't you home school your useless child?

Since it's PM, then I'll take this news item with a pinch of salt.

But if you ask me, I think both pedagogues have that innate desire to become professional barbers. Something of a latent passion of sorts.

My opinion: enroll them at the nearest Lagos skills acquisition centre so that they can be taught the rudiments of the trade.

That's if they did do a good job of giving the kid a "shiny moon".
Re: Teachers Sent To Prison For Shaving Pupil’s Hair by eyinjuege: 5:26pm On Mar 20, 2020
Serves them right .
Why couldn't they send the child home as the parents brought the child in or even suspend the child till the parents do the needful.
It's not everytime you get physical with people.
It's assault to have shaved his hair without the parents permission.
Abi they used the hair for juju ni?
They should let us know..
I hope they arrested the school proprietor too,for good measure. They couldn't have carried out the act without his/her knowledge

Not all parents do not know the right thing to do. We must also be aware that some kids might be asked to keep their hair for some period of time just for spiritual reasons. People who attend white garment churches will understand me better.
Now imagine a teacher shaving off such kid's hair.
Is she wiser than God.

All she needs to do is to consult the parents to know why the kid has not barb his or her hair.

Both parties in this case are wrong.
I.e if it was in the school rules and regulations that students can't keep their hairs untidied therefore teachers have the right to do what ever they can to the hair as punishment as long as it doesn't inflict physical wound on the faulted student and this leaves me with a mighty question as to where those teachers got their lawyers from?
But then punishments like that on a 5 years old (minor) kid takes extra I.e you have do it without humiliation

Na I too know dey cus all dis things most times now see wahala wey dem don land dem self put , but back den in command day secondary school Oshodi dem too shave my hair I no go lie
Simplyleo:
At 5, the appearance or turn out of a child is entirely the decision and responsibility of the parents. If a teacher or school has issues with the turn out of a 5 year old pupil, the best is to contact the parents and address it accordingly.

You don't just pick up razor blade and start shaving the hair of a 5 year old without the consent or knowledge of her parents.

Any teacher tries that shyt with me must pay for it. undecided

They should suspend your child till you cut his hair yourself or take him to another school where they allow dreadlocks

You don't dictate for another parent the hairstyle you have chosen for your own child.

As you have chosen, others have chosen.

Some parents like gorimapa, while others love low cut, and some love afro.

Parents have the right to decide for their kids, while every adult has the right to decide for him/herself.

That's how you encourage your child to join cult when they grow. So what will you say to higher institutions management that cut students bushy and dreaded hair? I pity the kids you will raise ewu.

Imagine using the same clipper for multiple kids. What if they had given the kids HIV or a disease that can be easily transmitted via fluid exchange. Odiegwu. The teachers no get sense.

Aunty Florence, you shaved my hair back in primary school. I went home, my mom gave me 100 to go to the salon and have a clean cut. I went to school the following day, Aunty Florence used me as example of how good and neat pupils should look.
Aunty Florence taught me how to keep clean hair cut. I was wondering then, how come my mom didn't notice my bushy hair?

Today's parents are worse!! Yes, I said it.

God bless our Teachers!

The point here is the age, the parents should’ve been contacted instead of using unsterilized tools to cut the child’s hair in the present of everyone.

There is an age you get to and you can be herd responsible for such.

Why not become the teacher at home.
If you don't want your child to be disciplined don't bother to take them to school.
Tomorrow same child will have the boldness to slap you in public.
Shameless parent

I don't subscribe to the teachers barbing the whole hair but cutting a little will have gone a long way to push the parents to barb the hair completely.
With the way things are going in Nigeria, I pity the future generation.

That is regarded as an abuse in Western country and might be jail for it so Teachers no matter how bushy child hair is shaving pupil hair its not part of your duty you have really overstepped your boundary.

There is boundary to everything. Sorry I have nothing more to say than to wish them good luck in the trail and these will serve as a lesson to overzealous teachers.

Have you forgotten that the school has its rules and regulations and every student must abide by such rules. I blame the school management for their weakness, such can't happen in my school. If I were the teachers I will get my own lawyers and I bet you I will win the case.
