Dude, are sad you lost your "job" because you truly enjoyed working there? I think so. Or else, you should be glad.
An MSc holder taking home just 30k monthly, as a man?! That was slavery. Underpaid is an understatement.
How were you supporting yourself and your family with just 30k?
I hope you are not married yet?
Pls, learn a lucrative skill with your little savings and start out. Or, become a tutor. Teach private lessons and get paid.
Whatever you decide to do, just make sure you don't get underpaid.
Know your worth.

Why y'all calling her dude or am I missing something

I don't advise anyone to just leave their home especially if you aren't paying rent now and go to somewhere where you aren't even sure of a roof over your head, especially as you're a lady.

Have you considered cooking from home and supplying offices.
If you can cook well, and package it neatly in a not too expensive way. I bet you, there's a fortune waiting to be made.
I know there are many food vendors in Benin but
if you package it right, there's market for you.

This is a very nice advice @op biko consider it but that is if you actually know how to cook nice meals maka afo osisa grin grin

Leave Africa for Corona era?

CORONA will subside soon.
The WORLD has experienced worse cases than corona.
The PUBLICITY about it is too much.
The PUBLICITY kills more than Corona.

If you have opportunity to leave, Please Leave.
That's the reason Most WESTERN EMBASSIES congratulate you when you are given a VISA from Nigeria, because they know you have climbed further on the socioeconomic ladder.

I find it hard to believe that as a MSc., you were earning 30k when you can teach private classes and make over 100k.

Some people come here to tell stories that touch whereas they're just scammers...

If you are being honest, find a teaching job or advertise private classes, soon someone will call you. The essence of education is to broaden the mind. 30k is an insult to a Master of Science

Succint!
Nothing more to add.

If only you know how long I've searched..Insults are expected. Maybe I'm not searching the right way. If you have better options am willing to learn. Anything to take me out daily at least for now would give me joy. Have enough issues already. Don't want to be depressed.

If you claim to have a master's degree and can accept a pay of 20k then shame on you. You could have invested your time learning a trade instead.

Education broadens your mind and if your mind is still caged after studying at tertiary level for more than 5 years then you have missed your calling in life.

With your qualification, I can recommend you for a teaching position in an international school here in Abuja if you have teaching experience. Schools are currently on lockdown due to Covid-19 pandemic. So reply here for now. Thanks

OP, Teaching is better combine with home lessons you can make bout 60k. Salary from teaching in a school - 30k, two home lessons,.one- Monday, Wednesday and Saturday; two - tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, 15k each.

Business is a better option. I'm done applying for jobs.

Calm down man! Did you bother to read what I wrote at all. I said a friend not me. I don't have a masters...at least not yet and I don't earn such paltry sum. Again, there's no particular manual for life. What works or worked for you may turn out disastrous or catastrophic if I attempt it. All I am saying is that if you live above the poverty line and by some distance, you should rather be thankful instead of harbouring the thought that your success is strictly a product of sheer determination and hardwork.
So, be thankful man

Bros, I read everything well. And the 'you' is not you in particular but a term for anyone... It isn't a matter of ingratitude either, but a matter of self worth. I believe she spent millions acquiring her education over the years. So everyone is privileged to an extent.

I still maintain that it is a waste of money and time to study for several years up to master's level only to accept 20 or 30k. If you have any sense of value, you wouldn't accept it.

Very well. Secure a place you are going to stay in Abuja before school reopens. Make contacts to see if you have relations or friends you could stay with while on probation.

Nope. She's not. But rather, you qualify as someone who is actually.

Are you telling me if she had told you she earned 5K per month in face-to-face you'd have replied with 'You're mad' Instantly?

Respect is nothing to accord people mister. You don't elevate yourself one bit by calling people abusive names.

The fact you can say anything on a faceless forum almost without repercussions doesn't mean you have to let go of your sense of responsibility.
Lame!

Why not put the chains away... I mean the "MSc" and all that pieces of junk you put in folders and use your hands and brain. Must you answer to a boss?!
That's the problem in the country...
The government doesn't give a damn
The so-called graduates keeps coming out like a gas explosion and yet wants to be employed by the govt that doesn't give a damn
Still, they'll say "God will do it" or it's not my portion like they're special... Then we have your type... we're at the battle field and the best you could think of is gathering flowers when you've not even saved your ass! That's ur Msc!
So we have the few bold ones and/or beneficiaries of the corrupt govt will start employing ppl like you with token.
If you want I can employ you with a 32k salary but you'll need a PhD please.
