See as everywhere cold,lol

Made enquires at my regular FBN branch about the current tbills rate, and they told me they don't do tbills there for now, that fixed deposit is the availay option.

Oya what's Fixed deposit rate, 1.5-1.7% for 6minths, what that feck!.

I stir the ship to FBN quest (money market ) and I am getting 6.3% down from 6.5% last week I made an enquiry

No where nice atallz....
Get a better deal with LAPO mfb fixed deposit. Rates are still same.

Which is more advisable to do in this uncertain time, treasury bills or euro bond? Heard it’s possibility for a government to default on euro bonds because they can’t print dollars , but can never default on domestic bonds or treasury bills , as they could just print more money in time of uncertainty.

Ermmm, this pic below is from FBN Quest on thier Euro Bonds portfolio. These stats for the year was last captured from February this year if I am not mistaken.

in the Bar charts, The Navy blue rep FBN quest, the Gray represents the Bond Market.

I am sure it's enough for you to make your decision.

Pull it out and do what with it? Would you rather prefer your money stays idle in your account than atleast yield something in these troubling times in a place that's relatively safe for you.

Covid19 is not a world war, businesses are still ongoing although at a slower pace, besides the money market is highly liquid, so if you need your cash anytime you can always request for it.

You are in a much more safer haven than those whose cash are strapped in things like Real estate.

Oga better keep your money in there if you want to just withdraw it due to panic except you want to move to another investment option

Fidelity Bank, one of my worst bank.

So sorry for that...we had network issue then. But I must assure u that the network is superb now. Talking about HYSA (High Yield Saving Account)...HYSA is the best product in the bank now. You can contact this number (08026088211) for more clarification on HYSA or Fidelty Bank products or easy account opening process. Thanks

I don't have a problem with you selling, man must whack but this is selfish advice riddled with conflict of interest. Can't you proffer advice instead of peddling a product?

These are uncertain times. In uncertain times in Nigeria, cash, preferably Fx is king. You don't even know what the value of your currency will be tomorrow.

Lapo boss how far , I have some funds in lapo fixed deposit already, should I withdraw my funds now because of this corona virus issue. The reason being that markets are closing down, and probably banks soon. And Lapo is a major lender to these market and business persons. Once markets/business closes, debtors will default and my funds might get stuck... what do u think. I need your genuine opinion and the opinion of others on this thread.

That is just one of their issues. Concerning their network issue, imagine I tried to move 20k from that account to another account for use that day. After trying for more than 6 times and only one successfully going through. Imagine my shock later in the day for up to 6 transfers happening later, so if I was paying a vendor with a transfer that day, that is how I would have paid 120k for a service or product of 20k and then we will start speaking English for a refund.
That is just one of my many experiences. They are also one of the only banks that require you to physically submit a form at the bank for TB, Firstbank does that but you can also be sure that the transaction will go through since you do not have to put a rate. With Fidelity, your form will not be accepted if you do not put a rate, which means that if the rate doesn't work, your money will be in the bank for another 2 weeks and if your rate again doesn't work, you will keep trying thereby losing money and manhours of going back and forth to the bank. It was a torid experience for me, thank God I no longer have to do TB with them.

The TB challenges you faced with the bank is surprisingly strange to me. I must say maybe it Depend on the Branch.

I helped a client bid for the last auction on TB and it went through. My client lives in the States. All he needed was to send me his instructions and I sealed the transaction over here.
Him and other clients of mine has been using this procedure on transactions for a long time now.

Banking is Mobile bro.

During the period I used your bank (spanned across about 2 years) for TB, I am sure that I explored up to at least 4 different branches and I was told on all occasions that you had to physically come to the bank, as a matter of fact, if I search my mails, I will also find where it was stated I had to physically filled the form in the bank.
Also, you can or could only fill the form on the week of the TB, if you come a week before, they will refuse to accept the form from you because it is against the bank's policy for the form to be found on staff's possession outside the week of the TB. Compare that to my experience with Sterling bank, then the account officer would call me to remind me that the TB was maturing soon and want to know if I was reinvesting.
Ah, Fidelity, for some perculiar reason, the account is retained though.

Your funds are secure. You will have access to both your principal and interest at the expiration of your investment. Its true some aspect of our operations are already affected, But we have taken necessary precautions to protect depositors funds.

Why not put it in fixed deposit ?

We also have our fixed deposit but the rate varies based on the amount you are fixing and the duration.

No Fixed deposit as at now gives a guaranteed rate of 8.5% on 50,000 for 365 days( I stand to be corrected tho)

So why not go for VGIF which is just like fixed deposit the rate is reviewed every 6 month.

The COVID-19 case in Ile-Ife (Osun State) could have been avoided, if the woman who returned from the UK with her baby had gone into self isolation immediately she got back. It’s actually insane because the woman is a medical doctor.

She refused to go into self isolation, took the baby to crèche, the baby mixed with other babies. Then when the baby started showing symptoms of Coronavirus, she took the baby to Children Emergency Ward of OAUTHC thereby exposing other kids and health practitioners to the virus.

The health practitioners started treating the baby without protecting themselves, thinking it was just a normal illness. Now the baby has tested positive (the mother might be positive too). Imagine the number of people who have been exposed!

To think Ile-Ife is a small place and almost everyone knows someone working in OAUTHC. All I can do now is pray, because this is really scary. I’ve told my Parents (who are resident in Ife) to stay in their house, no going out till further notice.

Hello house. Can someo knowledgeable explain this?

I've been doing target savings with gtb and this is the 3rd month with zero interest. I've also read here people say target savings is more better than t bills for now cos of their interest.

Does it appear gtb don't issue interests on t. Savings or what?

do you withdraw from the account? I think that's the reason why. Most savings account have clause of not more than three withdrawals for a month

Does this include transfer charge debit? Of just the actual transaction like 3 debit transfers from an account.

Do you mean from the savings account the money is deducted from or the target savings itself?
