So ur suggestion in essence is that all should travel overseas for some papers, even when the available resources are not enough for the pursuit of such certificates. erico2k2: |

All those schools do not give free tuition to every Tom, Dick and Harry. You have to get a very good or excellent academic results before being considered for any financial aid by those schools. kokakola: 1 Like |

Trello: I suppose you are trying to correlate future benefits with present cost? I have had a couple of friends that did their PHD in UK, as a result of their tight work after study policy, a handful of them couldn't stay back to work, also as a result of these policies the UK experienced a drop in international students. Most of these folks ended up in Canada or Australia, breaking into the market there wasn't as easy as they hoped. I will suggest that you choose a location for your PhD which offers opportunities to be able to recuperate your investment, at present the UK doesn't fit that description. 1 Like 2 Shares |

@OP What have you done with your BSc?? You mean with your added Master Degree you are still a master in nothing, now you are on a quest to bag a PHD. Even all the renowed billionaire did not posses all this to be master in their chosen field of endeavour. So tell us, what do you need all these papers for, when you have nothing creative in your mind, not even one idea that can spin billions |

Mekas2016:Take it easy man. At the bolded above, how can a KP earn almost #800k which is about £1600 a month without labouring beyond normal; especially given that study visa has work restrictions during school term? What is the the minimum wage? How many hours a week does/will the person work? Let us be realistic here and stop painting non existing mosaic. Again, how do you compare someone having €100 in Europe to someone having #100m in Nigeria? Are you for real? Nigeria is not perfect regarding structure and functionality as a country but don't overreach on your assumptions. #100m is about £200,000! Please note that not everyone on this forum is ignorant or uneducated or perhaps not well travelled. 4 Likes |

erico2k2:I want to assume you live or have lived abroad? If yes, can you kindly enumerate the numbers? Stating minimum wage, hours worked, income after tax and cost of living. To the best of my knowledge, wages in Europe are not as high as what is obtainable in North America, save for Mexico. For the UK in question, how much is the average entry pay for a graduate? Except for a few who earn big bucks working for USA companies in the UK or the oil industry. I look forward to your figures. Cheers. 2 Likes |

If you’re doing a lab - based research, and if your supervisor is a difficult person, trust me it will affect you. If he does 8 hours per week and earns minimum wage of £8.21/hour, that will barely cover his transport to and from work/Uni, rent and feeding for the month. BabbanBura: |
