Aston02:what they do is give to the needy around them, they are no offering baskets or tithe boxes, giving to the needy is more effective both spiritually and socially. There is no commandment to pay tithe, it was an instruction, and obligation for a specific time and people, read the verses fully, you will see the reason these people were being maintained via tithes, it does not apply to these men posing themselves as whatever, that is why Jesus did not put much emphasis on tithing, even when asked about it, he said its not as important as loving your God, and your neighbour as yourself, that poor single mom is a neighbour, showing love to her is more important to Jesus, the Christian saviour. 2 Likes |

Silly Christians everywhere! U want to pay tithe because of Malachi, but won't go to Deuteronomy 14 from 22 to end to check out the culture of tithe and know that it is absolutely a Jewish tradition. That being said, our so called priest won't preach Malachi chapter 2 but will preach Malachi chapter 3 everyday. But let me tell u something u should know. Saint Paul didn't mention Tithe in his GIVING messages but always say " GIVE CHEERFULLY ". This GIVE CHEERFULLY should be ur priorities. I see that u want to pay ur so called Tithe GRUDGINGLY. Then what's the benefit of paying it in the first place? David said "He won't give God what will not cost him anything". Some people will say "the tithe costs me something and then I have to pay it". What it mean to GIVE CHEERFULLY is to give something with joy. It doesn't mean it won't pain u but u must give it out with a grateful and joyful heart. Someone can give his last money to someone else with a CHEERFUL and grateful heart even at a severe pain later. Givings I recommend are these : VOW : vow is very important and must be fulfilled no matter the cost, whether grudgingly or cheerfully. U will ask why am I bringing up confusion here? It is simple! VOW is a covenant not to be broken, that was why the Bible says "don't be too quick to make a VOW to the Lord. Be sure u can fulfill it. Don't be a fool before the Lord." So vows made are A MUST FULFILL. OFFERING : Whatever ur heart says u should offer to the Lord, u just do it. Is not a forceful something. Don't let Ur Priest also tell u that u can't appear before the Lord empty handed. All the people that dwell in the time of old in the Bible appear before the Lord empty most often to worship God and seek His face. However, they also get their sacrifices to the house of God when their heart and wallet has prepared them for that THE POOR, WIDOWS, STRANGERS, FATHERLESS, HANDICAP: All these people God don't joke with ur gift to them. In fact, ur tithe are CULTURALLY Meant for them. Check out Deuteronomy 14 from 22 for guideline. Levites (today's priests) were to be remembered during tithing and not absolute. This is because they don't have portion or inheritance among the TWELVE TRIBES OF ISRAEL. But I believe ur pastors have more money and connections than most of us. TITHE : Yes! U should pay ur tithe. It is a law for the Jewish people and if u want to live by such law, who am I to stop u. However, there's what is called conditional tithing in the Bible, which is done by the increase of ur proceeds. Maybe u can conveniently resort to that. GIVE CHEERFULLY MAN! |

ednut1: God needs your money! Because he won't come down from heaven to collect it doesn't mean we should give him what's duly His. There are a whole lot of things that goes into running a church or being a pastor. There are lots of missionary works and pastors these men people sponsor and contribute to. Because they don't get to talk about it often doesn't mean they are scam. Most pastors are on full time and they have families too. How do you expect them to feed their families, cater for the spiritual and sometimes physical well being of their members. However, I do know there are other churches whose pastors feed large at the expense of their members. And there are churches that the pastor in charge are not even aware of the money in the church's purse other than the monthly allowance given to him. In addition, most of them pay back tithe too. While some get all these things as gifts as well. For me, I know how my pastor is living and I've seen him going the extra mile because of his members. If he buys a jeep tomorrow, I don't think I have the right to question where he gets the money to buy. That's between him and God, not me. |

The truth is that when you pay tithe, it is only your business and you do not need anybody's advice on this. Only the word of God should be your guide. This is purely between you and your God. The question you need to ask yourself is that those who are asking you not to pay please check if their life is better of. I tell people that the problem 90% of your earnings can not solve it is not 10% that can solve it. I have seen people with a lot of million of dollars in their bank account and they contacted COVID-19 and they are no more. So what happens to their money in the bank. I am sure they cannot spend it in the grave. Paying tithe or not is purely personal and it is all about your level of faith in God. |

Tithing is not a debt. Giving (tithing inclusive) to God is voluntary yet necessary and should be done willingly. Most importantly, it is an act of faith and we give in relation to our individual maturity in faith. Matured faith says I will give my tithe with the believe that God is able to provide more, little faith says I have to manage this and hold onto my cash. In the latter, you are not wrong but only needs to grow more in faith and in the grace of giving. God will not be angry with you but there are only realms in kingdom wealth, sufficiency and provision that you will not attain which makes your remain at the level 'of not been enough' (debts and more debts). It's all your choice. Remember tithing is not all about giving the cash, but the understanding that motivates the action. God bless! |

Lovelyn451: The fact he's even considering shows him to be carnal like Cain. I remember watching "Cain and Abel" film. You need to see how Cain was removing from what he intended to give to God while Abel gave freely with a joyful heart. What happened? Abel's sacrifice was accepted while Cain's was rejected which made Cain to kill Abel. Op when God start blessing tithers. Don't envy them or blame your village people. |

I will advice u to pay ur debts first after all,the same Bible warns us not to owe any man...pay up ur debts and I bet u shall be free from this mental slavery. God will help u and as u come out of this debt. Then, u can now pay up ur tithe if u wish but for me I don't pay because we don't have levites among our men of God. |
