It is becoming almost second nature for most Nigerians, both the educated and non-educated classes, to cross the line while pouring out their hearts on national issues. I agree, there are ample question marks on how the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government has acted on and reacted to socio-political, economic, and religious matters; spanning from federal character, insurgency, ethno-religious skirmishes, education, malfeasance, to now presidential invisibility before this coronavirus pandemic.

Naturally, we feel betrayed, used, and insignificant to the presidency. Not paling in comparison to status-quo that should be, your feelings are indeed valid. But letting this emotional pain lead you to hurl insults of all sorts at President Buhari, as rampant online, is an overreaction. As you call him unprintable, reprehensible names and ridicule him through jokes/memes, remember he is fallible, someone's husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and holds office of President of Nigeria. It is enough to beg to differ with and criticize constructively his leadership style plus policies. Using constitutional and moral means to show displeasure are in order. Look emotional intelligence's way.

Disturbingly, some people even wish Buhari death, hoping news of his demise filters in soonest. If that's not a representation of the Scriptures' observation that "The heart of man is desperately wicked," then it must be of something worse. If you fall in this category, kindly stop now! Such comments are humor taken too far.

As events unfold and we watch with disappointment, anticipating the National Assembly does the needful and saves the day, let us (Nigerians) amplify our voices to be critically loud enough, not insulting enough.

Buhari hasn't gotten one-third of what Jonathan got in terms of abuse and insults on nairaland alone. Every leader (performing or non-performing) gets ridiculed by people on time or the other. Donald Trump has been called all sorts of unprintable names but he doesn't whine boit it. The saying ' uneasy lies the head that wears the crown' comes to mind. I dont see anything wrong with the so- called insults and abuses. As far as I am concerned, they should spur him to more positive actions and not whine like a little girl whose doll got snatched by a bully.
If I may ask, how many constructive criticism has he taken in good fate? How many has he acted upon? I dont know why any body will even bring up this topic. What geniune attempts did he make to diversify the economy? Lets be truthful to ourselves a government that blames its woes on the preceding one is not ready to work. The honourable thing to do is for him to resign and let more competent, sound and healthy people take up the reigns of the administration of the nation. And history will judge him as a true elder stateman who has the interest of his country at heart. This do or die attitude will not end well. I rest my case

Garba Shehu
Lauretta Onochie
Bashir Ahmad.
Femi Adeshina
Tolu Ogunlesi
Kayode Ogundamisi

How would any sane person respect a president with the above characters speaking in his behalf?

Not to mention a retinue of 30k miscreants recruited to sound stupid in his behalf?

Respect?

The OP is not a sensitive human. Otherwise he wouldn't have trodden the path of trying to cover up the president's inadequacies.
I agree the president shouldn't be insulted.
But we r talking about people who are in abject poverty, fear and so many others whose anger levels keep increasing everyday.
If the president is too incapacitated to work, why cant he just resign? How can we be looking for our president months after a pandemic broke out, only to be given a rude treatment in the form of a short video clip?
Donald Trump, angela Merkel, boris Johnson and co are all in their 60s and 70s and they show their face and give updates everyday to their citizens.
Why is ours like a family with no father and mother, cos even the VP has been quiet?
Nobody should insult the president I agree. But let his actions through his subordinates count.
Digressin......the minister of health and those that delayed closing our borders should have been sacked since.

Buhari merits the insults I won't lie.

When marginalizing a whole geopolitical zone with confidence. He doesn't look at faces, that's how when they insult him too they don't look at his face.

Imagine borrowing 22.7billion dollars and a whole zone got zero projects.

This same man was about to dash north east 300million dollars, but 2nd Niger bridge construction there's no money, and the bridge must be tolled for over 10years, you cab dash others money but for u to do something for us we must pay back the money with interest.

But Bubu is a disgrace to the nation, Nigeria.

Nigeria has never had a blockhead as President as we do.

It's embarrassing that Buhari cannot just come out and give a speech of just 2 lines on a global issue without rehearsing the prepared speech a thousand times. And even at that he would still embarrass Nigerians. Who does that.? He's destitute of everything a leader needs!

His Religio-ethnocentric bigotry has beclouded his pinhead that he cares less about how his virulent fulani herdsmen massacre Nigerians all over the place.

While COVID-19 is a pandemic; Bubu is an endemic scourge to Nigerians.

Na your own be that. Anybody that thinks government is meant to fly around and do nothing tangible deserves whatever he gets. Buhari is worse president in history. Worse than Abacha. Now I see why he was quickly removed as head 9f state. No iota of idea in him.

Do the right thing and NIgerians praise you. Do otherwise and get a backlash. I have never seen a time when anybody from outside NIgeria attack NIgerians without people defending. Come and see how people are supporting ImamofPeace on Twitter.

I understand that most people that voted for Buhari are illiterates. But I am appalled that literate people could support the monumental failure for second term.
