Many a times when we make blunders, and the result is not palatable, we shift the blames to the products.
Let me site myself as an example.
I once applied insecticide, like the 1st 3 lines of my cucumber gone while other lines are OK. I sat and began to reason.
Later i realized someone used the sprayer to apply paraquat herbicide. Tho I rinse it b4 using it but there was almost half liitre of the herbicide hanging in the compressor chamber which ordinary rinsing cannot remove except you flush it out with enough clean water.
Another instance, same quantity of insecticide I normally used for knapsack sprayer, I erroneously (with the mindset that i was holding 16L sprayer)poured same into my 2L hand sprayer. The result...all my nursery plants got burnt.
Another one. I broadcast 1 paint rubber of ewdu seed. As a first timer, I didn't know they used to per boil it. The thing refused to grow. The following year, when the land was turned for planting a different crop, all of them started germinating as weed.
it is not called per boiling rather" breaking the dormancy

Wow

How is your farm doing? I'm still contemplating between 4 to 10 acres. Seed is the last thing I'm waiting for. Is your ugu doing fine without ridges/heaps?

We are both right. I was specific, you are being generic. Different seeds with diff methods of breaking dormancy.

4 to 10 acres hmmm, that is a huge project. Hope you have market for that because in rainy season there is always glut. I learnt by April, may the price of seed can go as high as #10 to #12k. Ugu is doing very fine though this harsh weather really dealt with it upon we water every fortnight.

u mean u water every 2 wks? That's too infrequent now. Evry 3-4 days would be OK. The little I planted is watered evry 2 days and they look very dark and fresh - just as if it is in the rainy season.

Yes, Ada it's huge, the only factor left ias adequae market for the commodities. Can we corroborate and share ideas offline especially with marketing where I need help? I'll like you to send me your number privately. I'll like to know can the plant survive well without heaps/ridges? How many seeds will fully cover one acre of land?

U made a mistake in spelling fourth. U used: fortnight

/ˈfɔːtnʌɪt/

noun

a period of two weeks.

igbos and ss region consume more ugu leaf compared to any other part of the country.. I think that's the reason markets are still selling in your side... besides.. it depends on the supply of and demand as well

it is one acre not two and half, where I mentioned two and half was the seed we were planting on that particular day, thank you I will really appreciate if you can help with cist effective irrigation system, because all this one am using now are for my friend and mentor which I already told her we will work on getting better irrigation system rather than carrying hose around, I will a appreciate if you can help me with your on type if irrigation system picture, though am thinking of getting sprinkler or spraytub but I don't know if it can work with borehole

Spray tube ia your best bet. 3km spray tube is enough to irrigate the full farm.

Spray tubes are installed like driptape. effective for crawling plant, also good for lettuce, shoko ewedy etc

I'm more concerned about the price.. it would take hundreds of thousands to install spray tube on an acre of land and it will also increase the growth rate of weeds.. instead of spray tubes why not go for drip?

Drip is more better for Ugu, pepper etc but spray tube is recommended for Lettuce, onions etc
