Chinese media lying started this mess, and China is in the process of trying to eliminate it's growing black population. The name of the man, to any Igbo speaker, is nonsensical

Okonkwonwoye

Oko - Boy
Nkwo - Born or Nkwo day

Nw - Nwa (Short) Child
Oye - A child born on Oye (or Orie) day.

Meaning this man's ancestors was born twice in one week lol.

Read with the eye of an adult. Take care.

There’s nothing wrong with the name or suspicious about it. Some parts of Anambra have such names.

His grand father would be Nwoye while his father’s name would be Okonkwo hence Okonkwonwoye. If he was born on Afo market day, he would be Nwafo and if he decides to drop his grand father’s name (Nwoye), his New last name would be Nwafookonkwo. Such last names were popular before the British came to our shores, before Christianity in Igbo land and before names like Chukwuma, Chukwudubem, Chiemeka and other names like that.

I feel sorry for this nurse and angry at mr Okonkwonwoye but I suspect that he might have felt paranoid and suspicious of the so called ‘antivirus’ that they wanted to administer into him.
We can never know what really transpired at the hospital.

A Nigerian coronavirus patient has been detained for allegedly attacking and biting a Chinese nurse on her face in a bid to escape from isolation.

Okonkwonwoye Chika Patrick, 47, savagely beat up the nurse, known by her surname Wang, after she stopped him from leaving his quarantine ward at a hospital in Guangzhou on Wednesday.

Shocking footage shows the nurse bursting into tears as her swollen face is covered with bruises and lacerations.

Local police said the detained patient is receiving treatment under quarantine with police supervision. He will be prosecuted accordingly to Chinese laws after recovery.

Mr Okonkwonwoye had been treated at the Guangzhou Eighth People’s Hospital since March 23.

He tested positive for the coronavirus after arriving in Guangzhou city of southern China from abroad on March 20.

When Ms Wang asked Mr Okonkwonwoye to take a blood test on April 1, the patient ignored her and attempted to walk out of his quarantine ward.

The Chinese nurse was pushed to the ground and bitten on the face when she tried to stop the Nigerian citizen from leaving, according to a police statement.

Ms Wang is said to have suffered multiple injuries to her face, neck and waist.

Mr Okonkwonwoye is receiving anti-virus treatment under supervised isolation by the police.

The Guangzhou police said they have been investigating the incident and will ‘immediately carry out prosecution once the treatment is finished.’

‘At the moment, the patient still tests positive,’ the police statement read. ‘The hospital has strengthened its security measures in the internal isolation zone.

Stop spreading false news , you are not living in China and you don’t know what happened. I am in Guangzhou and i knows what happened.

the made the typo multiple times. I think the issue is that many Nigerians don't believe non-nigerians can have plans, lie or harbor ill intent. Which is a very strange way to think but Nigerians are strange.

Well it's not an 'ordinary bite'.
She would test positive for the virus, be separated from her family & put in isolation. It could be her death sentence too. Apart from the pain of the bite, she has a lot to cry about.

This man is angry that Chinese people gave him the virus and he pulled this through just to give back the Chinese nurse their virus.

Are you justifying the act or what.

What the guy did was totally wicked.
Biting a care giver.

I trust the Chinese govt.
They will give him the right treatment.

He might even be killed by lethal injection.

My great grand father had such name. My grand father had it. My father had it but never used it.

People from old Aguata local government and some parts of Aniocha used compound names. I’m talking about 40s to late 70s.

Portuguese and Brazilians use multiple names but not necessarily compound names. Mother’s and father’s names are included in the birth certificates. Mother’s last name comes first followed by father’s last name.

Okoliokonkwo or Nwankwonwafo are normal names in the 60s around Aguata lga of Anambra state. Apart from compound Igbo market day names, you can also hear names like Nwankwo-Igboaja...eg John Chukwudi Nwankwo-igboaja.
