Alhamdulillah! Alhamdulillah!! Alhamdulillah!!!
I have wanted to do this for a very long time but finally, I am blessed with enough time. Masha Allah. since I'm done with my last paper for the term I've decided to give back to this forum this way and any other way I can.

Please gear up for a long post.

most of us know what happened to applications during this period. I had to wait for 1 year plus with enough fasting and prayers. lord knows I've never been that committed to my religion as I did during that period. At one point I almost withdrew my application but people of God like Frankrobbn1 and Naijaforeigner convinced me to hold on. Approvals kept coming in for fellow nairalanders but mine was in oblivion and I kept praying. So finally after the whole humbling and patience, God taught me:

I got my approval letter sometime around late august 2019 without medical request. I went nuts that night, just went out of the house and came back inside like 100 times. LOL. crazy memory. I'm laughing right now.

the next day I left home for lekki, immediately after the first crow just to avoid the traffic from Ikeja to lekki as its always very crazy. fast forward 14 days or so of normal waiting time, my passport didn't show up. another patience after all this while Ah!!! mogbe ooo!!! school resumes in days and yet passport is not showing up. my dad sent me on my way to lekki to go confirm and still the same thing seen on the online portal. temibami! who did I offend? Lol

So school resumed and everything was still the same, the passport wasn't showing up and I was going crazy at home. I already quit my job and just waiting to fly to my destination; Thunderbay. Already paid for a place to stay with another nairalander Collins, forgotten his moniker on nairaland. he is my brother from another mother now. collins left me in Naija and Japa to thunder bay and sent me a picture of my room and my head was swelling like garri. Lol. I almost entered depression and had to ask on this platform again if I could change my program and things like that.

After 2 weeks of resumption, my passport finally came back and booked a ticket immediately. omo ticket wasn't joking that period oo, paid lots to fly. left Naija Sept 20th and got to maple land; landed Toronto and I was dreading like what if I was asked why I came late and told to go back. I cant deffer because I did once already. so many questions playing on my mind and I couldn't answer all.

It got to my turn and I was summoned by a female vo
vo: hello,
me: hi
vo: can I have your study permit and passport, please
me: tendered it with a huge smile on my face
vo: so why did you arrive this late
me: I got my passport back really late and came as fast as I could immediately I got it
vo: okay. so it's written in your letter of offer that you have a pre-requisite in mathematics. are you very good at maths because if you don't pass your pre-requisite by the end of the first term, you'll be removed from Canada
me: I understand
vo: who is your sponsor
me: my dad
vo: so he paid for your tuition and going to support your stay here in Canada?
me: Yes mam
vo: good, let me see your proof of funds
me: passed it on to her with a smile and a tired look
vo: awesome. goes to print my study permit. came back and told me she won't be including the option to work because I have to focus on my studies first before anything else
me: I totally understand
vo: welcome to Canada
me: thank youuuuuuuuuuu

so that was it o, I had a connecting flight to thunder bay and had met a 9ja guy from frankfurt airport, so we just chilled together at the lounge changed a few bucks for a taxi, exchanged numbers and off we went on our ways to Winnipeg and thunder bay. landed around 12 am in thunder bay and had to wait outside in that cold for like 20mins because I had no internet or line to contact that I'm by the door. although I informed him I was at the airport and taking a taxi already. before collins, came to open door. yeh! what is this. who send me come! cold scatter my brain. all that swagger jacket from Naija was like foam, I was already shaking. finally, baba come open door, I run enter see my guy for the first time, hail am Naija way, the Indians for the house dey look us like we be twins, funny that's another story. na so I go crash, baba go continue to study, that time I never understand wetin Canadian education be like.

so fast forward; I went to Lakehead on Monday to report myself present and ready for the studying but he no work. I had resumed too late, one of the professor been one give me chance to catch up 3 weeks in one night, he was like '' okay i will attach you to someone but first go read chapter 3,7, 5 and 2 then come tomorrow for classes so I can introduce you to your partner''. I remembered that feeling really well that day: feeling of wasting 4 years in the Naija education system, they tried but it wasn't as deep as what I was seeing in that textbook. so I decided not to continue with it because I didn't come to Canada just for coming sake and burn 21k cad for fun, so I contacted my agent who is a certified consultant by CIC and she gave me all the info I needed and decided to change to the University of Manitoba for Human Resource Management. To cut the long story short, I sat down for 3 months mostly playing Fifa. my Indian friends for house come even bring me one video for youtube make I watch '' smoke shisha play Fifa'' because I played too much Fifa. something wey dem no born me well to try when I resumed school. I finally resumed in January and now done with the first term.

P.S: this is not to talk down on anyone, but please if you know you aren't the type that studies or can sit on his or her own and pass please look for another country to go or better still express entry. if you are an average student trust me you'll catch up because of the teaching style and the Naija spirit wey no dey carry last. please consider your option carefully as schooling in Canada is extremely stressful. i am giving this info so you can know what you are coming into. the devil will not use us to burn thousands of dollars o. copyright is real here, plagiarism is real here. get caught; get expelled. ILEYA NI YEN O.

That's my own story people and I want to give special thanks to Jnyuwa02, Frankrobbn1, and Naijaforeigner for the support they have been giving on this platform. he no easy. I doff my cap to yall.

I can't write everything but I wrote what I remembered. as time goes ill keep updating you guys.

Not a good deal. Meanwhile can you tell us the name of this school. There are other good schools in Canada that you can apply to without such conditions.

Please I also applying for Memorial University of Newfoundland. Is the $2000 part of the tuition fee?

Hello gurus in the house, Please I am a little bit confused. I applied for a PhD program in U of S in Canada, got my official offer letter with scholarship (Covers my living expenses and tuition) and in addition I got a full funding from my supervisor's grant (also covers my living expenses and tuition fee). Please can i attach just the two documents as my proof for funding since they both cover my living expenses, tuition fee and every other need for money. Thank you all
NB: I dont have any sponsor and that was why i sourced for scholarships and full funding. I have about 300k in my personal account and that is all I have.

Hello TheBeat,

If you legitly working and earning that much in your country of residence, it will even be ideal to use your foreign account for your visa purpose. Maybe in the case where you are fussed about the current closing balance, get you family to wire the funds into your foreign bank account and use other supporting financial documents like your pay stub/payslip, proof of source of funds etc. Meanwhile, keep in mind that you should either prove a solid ties back to your country of residence or home country.

Bases on your concern on this post, since you have evidence of WN transfers of the funds to your family, get them to transfer the funds to your local account in a likely manner. Then show the WN proof coupled with using the LOE to provide clarification on how/why you sent the funds your family and how it eventually got into your account and for what purpose.

In as much as money parking is a sin, isn't that why we have prayers to enable us interceed?

You just have to explain yourself brilliantly.

All the best
Thank you very much, this is very helpful.
Please what can I use to show tie at home?
I am single and I have an unlimited work contract in my country of residence.
Are landed properties enough to show ties back home? I equally have a small farm back home, considering the time, can I register it as a company now and use the documents to show ties?

Congrats on your admission to the University of Saskatchewan. On this thread, we have PhD intakes for fall semester to Concordia University, McGill University and MUN (all with full funding). Your funding is more than enough. You will, however, attach your personal statement of account but it won't be used to assess your application since you have funding. Funding usually makes visa application easier.

What department were you admitted into? What's the total funding you received?

Canadian immigration processing fees increase April 30 Canada is adjusting immigration fees for the next two years

April 9, 2020 by Shelby Thevenot

Fee increasesCanada’s immigration department is increasing processing fees at the end of the month for foreign nationals who wish to become permanent residents.

The fees that foreign nationals pay include operational, processing and service delivery costs related to all permanent residence immigration programs.

The new regulations come into effect on April 30, at 9 a.m. EDT. Completed applications received before this time will be processed in accordance with the current fee schedule. Applications received on or after that time that do not include the correct fees will be returned to the applicant as incomplete.

Find out how to stay in Canada

Permanent resident processing fees for economic class applicants are generally being increased by 50 per cent as follows:

Principal applicants of the Economic business class (self-employed, start-up visa, Quebec investor, Quebec entrepreneur, and Quebec self-employed) will increase from $1,050 to $1,575;
Principal applicants in the economic non-business class will go up from $550 to $825. This increase will not apply to principal applicants and their families in the Caregivers programs, which will remain unchanged;
Fees for spouses or common-law partners of all economic classes will go up from $550 to $825;
Fees for dependent children of all economic classes will go up from $150 to $225;
The right of permanent resident fee will increase from $490 to $500, which is an increase of two per cent.

Fees are expected to increase in two years based on the applicable Consumer Price Index increase rounded to the nearest $5. New fee amounts will be released in 2022.

Fees for permanent resident cards, permanent resident travel documents and certification or replacement immigration documents will not increase.

Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) says that permanent residence fees have not increased since 2002. Fees for permanent residence applications will change again in 2022 in accordance with the Consumer Price Index.

The new regulations come into effect on April 30, at 9 a.m. EDT. Completed applications received before this time will be processed in accordance with the current fee schedule. Applications received on or after that time that do not include the correct fees will be returned to the applicant as incomplete.

Permanent resident processing fees for economic class applicants are generally being increased by 50 per cent as follows:

Principal applicants of the Economic business class (self-employed, start-up visa, Quebec investor, Quebec entrepreneur, and Quebec self-employed) will increase from $1,050 to $1,575;
Principal applicants in the economic non-business class will go up from $550 to $825. This increase will not apply to principal applicants and their families in the Caregivers programs, which will remain unchanged;
Fees for spouses or common-law partners of all economic classes will go up from $550 to $825;
Fees for dependent children of all economic classes will go up from $150 to $225;
The right of permanent resident fee will increase from $490 to $500, which is an increase of two per cent.

Hello how are you able to get full funding, what’s your cgpa? And what course?

Good morning all.

Please do V.O call banks or bank managers to verify the amounts in your Personal Statement of Accounts?

Yes,

Now according a memo issued to them, from this month they will have access to verify account from there , just like UK and USA does, but about 3 banks here in Nigeria refuse to grant them such access

Good Morning All. Please guide me on the 6m I said I’m about to inject to my Dads account. Considering that the balance therein as at today is close to nothing as all his money has been ploughed to his business, won’t it raise some sort of concern to the visa officer if I credit his account with the 6m in like 3/4days before applying?

Also, he’s a businessman and the cash flow in his personal account has been 100k or less in a single entry, won’t it also create an issue if I suddenly lodge 6m in there even if I spilt it to like 2m per tranche??

Good morning guys.
Just wanted to share this here. International students who got their study permit approvals on or before 18th of March, 2020 are now exempted from the travel restrictions and can travel to Canada to begin their academic semester. As seen on the IRCC website.

But please note that he has fixed deposit of 5m each in two banks making 10m maybe the FD Certificates might be useful.

2017 October 1st application
2017 December rejected
Fanshawe college: PGD Human Resource Management
the reason; purpose of visit and travel history
used a travel agent in Nigeria.

2nd Application;
May 2018
Lakehead University
most of us know what happened to applications during this period.

My current view
Much Love From Winnipeg

In MI Abaga's Voice "To God be the Glory for ur story"

That ur No Medical Request aspect is damn unusual ( 1 out of lots of applicants). God's grace dey ur head sir..

Something got my attention here which am jz hearing for the first time, VO asking for Proof of Funds at Point of Entry

Does that mean Applicant's should go with his/her POF (HardCopy) when travelling?

Thanks.

So it’s not Lagos? Thank you!

Also how do I ‘copy London’ as it’s a web form I’m filling and not an email I’m sending? (Or do you have their office email addresses? If you do please can you send them? Thanks again)

Blema111:

Applications from Nigeria are usually treated in Nairobi, Kenya. Send to Nairobi and copy London.
