Thanks Muleriders, for the explanation. Still, I'd like to know how they(WES Officials) get each student's raw scores, for example, "80 over 100" or "75 over 100", since most transcripts don't have such; only the unit loads and the grades.

If the transcript doesnt have that. It's not an official transcript

Not all schools put that on their official transcript.

Secondly, there's no separate presentation for official and unofficial transcripts.

I barely see a post on masters in accounting. Is it that people don't go for Macc programs. I use God dey beg ona, anybody that knows a good sch in the US for Macc program with good funding. God bless u all...

I got admitted to Virginia Tech Master of Accounting and Information Systems program (MACIS) and also Kansas State University Manhattan Campus to study Masters in Accountancy (MAcc program).

Virginia tech offered me paid teaching assistantship which qualified me to pay instate tuition, out of which my department is covering 50percent and health insurance.

Kansas offered me scholarship towards tuition but I am yet to know the exact percentage.

Hello Juwon21. Based on my observation, there might be delays in documentation for Fall 2020 intakes, owing to the pandemic. This might have significant effect on visa interviews for the aforesaid applicants, globally. I might be somewhat wrong with this observation. smiley

No. That's not true. What you have on your transcript is your grade by number and letters. Your student copy may not have that but your official transcript sent as an official copy surely would have that. The letter A to F is not what determines your grade but the marks that you earn in each subjects.

A transcript that isnt telling you what an A, B or F means is not a transcript. A transcript must be detailed enough to understand how well you did in a particular subject. Not just letters like A and whatever you saw in that transcript. on the transcript, there is a detailed explanation on what each letter grades means. for A is 80 and above, B is 70 to 80 or whatever way they have to put it.

For Wes or your target school is requesting for it?
Either way, find a WAEC office near you and ask for your WAEC certificate to be sent to any of the answers to the questions I asked in the first line... (I don't think you can use your personal copy, except if it's not compulsory to use an official one)..

Yea A, B, C.... is defined at the end or base of the transcript.
It doesnot change the fact that what you said earlier was misleading. A score is not put on the courses, just the letter grade.

I don't understand what you are saying Man, You claimed that only A, B or F is what you have on your transcript and you are here again to contradict what you said earlier. Any which way, a transcript not only give you a letter Grade but a score of each subject. You cannot have an A which is 90 and above in the US standard and 70 in the Nigerian standard written only as a letter A. They cannot evaluate it with only the letters if they don't know what score A translates to. Hope you understand now.

I am not here to argue with you. I just dont want you to mislead others.
Some people feel they know all, to accept that they make mistake is a problem.

It is simple. Let me give an example.

Course Grade
Course 1 A
Course 2 B
Course 3 C

Legend
A 70- 100
B 60- 69
C 50- 59.... etc...

So each course score is not stated but what each letter means is explained. I hope you get!

Dude, not all transcript has the individual scores, some only carry letter grades. In fact, mine has just the letter grades and it is official. I have never evaluated my transcript but a lot of my mates have evaluated theirs with WES successfully. A transcript will include something called a transcript legend. The legend describes the interpretation of each grade from A to F,
and it is mostly found at the end of the transcript. It has something like A = 70 - 100, etc.So if the transcript does not have individual scores for each course, the legend serves as guide to the evaluator;
whether WES, universities admission office etc.

Does it sound like I was saying a different thing? The legend describes what grade A to F is. And that's exactly what evaluators use not the letters. So if the legend is not there, is that a transcript
