Can Nigerian doctors or scientists produce Corona virus test kits? Till this moment, we still rely on test kits produced in China and sold to us or given to us for free by Jack Ma and co. Nigeria with a population of 200 million people has only conducted 5000 tests so far due to inadequate supply of test kits, why don't the NMA and co prove their competence by designing tests kits so we can scale up testing?

Whether we admit it or not, China has more firsthand experience in diseases like these having faced SARS, bird flu and now Covid. The Chinese are in Italy, Spain, France, Iran, Serbia, South Africa, and 82 other countries providing supplies or medical expertise, are Nigerian doctors better than the doctors in those countries. All I see is inferiority complex.

Every country hv their local protocol/requirements for you to be able to practice medicine in that locality. For instance even if you are a prof of medicine in Nigeria and go to China you can't start treating their patients without fulfilling some requirements or exams.
Why then should Chinese enter our land and start treating humans when we are not experimental animals( Guinea pigs?)
It's a totally wrong steps by the FG taken with their ulterior motives.
Our leaders just act as if they are acting movies in african magic..
About 12 yrs back while I was in the north the government brought some "Chinese doctors " and these guys where no more than a technician. Immediately they came and with few interactions with them we knw they were quacks. And they started killing pple in Broad day light... A friend the hes a doctor witnessed one case scenario where a patient came to that general hosp with neck pain only for the oyinbo to inject the patient in the jugular with anaesthetic drug and the man dropped dead immediately...
After killing couple of patients due to gross misconduct and mismanagement ppl stood up and chased them away.. but those life lost couldn't be replaced.

We are paying for our ineptitude. Until we put law into our own hands this government will still think we are fools. They refuse to listen to the populace thinking they know it all. We have been managing this pandemic very well and the result is showing. Why bringing in Chinese doctors again. One thing that baffles me about this federal government is that they refuse to heed Nigerian's warnings until things escalate out of control. Same way they refused to close the borders in time when Nigerians were raising alarm that the virus is being imported by the travellers, not until there are few confirmed cases to convince them.

I don't think Nigerian doctors are bad in handling this outbreak. The way I am hearing patients being discharged everyday is a good news.

Nigerians just have a bunch of sycophants and mediocres ruling them, can you imagine FG bringing Chinese doctors to the country 10 or 15 years ago to contain an epidemic? Because the world is now talking about China so they think Chinese doctors have a magic wand in their hands to heal the patients.

Is this inferiority complex or what? I get that they feel confident that they alone can stem the spread of the virus but this is different. Everyone needs a helping hand now. The U.S is asking for skilled hands (which I don't support), Cuba sending medical personnel to Italy, China sending a team to the UK. Almost 180+ countries are affected so it's a collective effort. Wish them the best of luck.
