The chinese have great experience with outbreaks, and even though the virus started from China (a real outbreak? A lab accident? ) it does not mean we should not accept help when we need it where we need it. Our numbers are going up, not down, so it's not like we're winning the war against the virus.

But that is not what this is about, the CCP is trying to save face by acting as if they have a solution when they don't. Other countries have been sending back the faulty hardware that China supplied.

Can Nigerian doctors or scientists produce Corona virus test kits? Till this moment, we still rely on test kits produced in China and sold to us or given to us for free by Jack Ma and co. Nigeria with a population of 200 million people has only conducted 5000 tests so far due to inadequate supply of test kits, why don't the NMA and co prove their competence by designing tests kits so we can scale up testing?

Every country hv their local protocol/requirements for you to be able to practice medicine in that locality. For instance even if you are a prof of medicine in Nigeria and go to China you can't start treating their patients without fulfilling some requirements or exams.
Why then should Chinese enter our land and start treating humans when we are not experimental animals( Guinea pigs?)

About 12 yrs back while I was in the north the government brought some "Chinese doctors " and these guys where no more than a technician. Immediately they came and with few interactions with them we knw they were quacks. And they started killing pple in Broad day light... A friend the hes a doctor witnessed one case scenario where a patient came to that general hosp with neck pain only for the oyinbo to inject the patient in the jugular with anaesthetic drug and the man dropped dead immediately...
After killing couple of patients due to gross misconduct and mismanagement ppl stood up and chased them away.. but those life lost couldn't be replaced.

So if the devil wants to help, we should accept?

Having read their reasons, I think NMA is only trying to protect the pride of their doctors. Simple. If they are afraid of infection from those Chinese doctors like he subtly implied, they can be tested.

The NMA has confessed that over 40 doctors are in isolation because they were exposed to the virus. Who is going to replace the 40+ in the mean time? These are the same doctors who kept telling us before the pandemic that they were overworked and that we lose too many of our doctors to Europe and America. Now, they claim to be sufficient in number.

Well, it’s fine. If this pandemic ravaged the community, nobody will remember the doctors, but if there’s tremendous success, nobody will remember the role of the government. The doctors will be commended, taking for granted the fact that the medical equipment and facilities are provided by the government especially in a time of global scarcity.

To be frank, as an observer, I believe all the reasons stated here for not interacting with the Chinese doctors don’t hold water. There are indications that this is territorial behaviour.

If the government had gathered Nigerian doctors from all over the world and brought them home to assist the NMA, they would still reject the idea, going by the excuses given in this interview.


Italy did not reject the Cuban doctors, instead they welcomed them with fanfare. Only red necks in the UK have protested the presence of Chinese doctors. Majority recognise their input and welcome it.

In my country Nigeria, our doctors are concerned about their territory. This doctor went so far as to suggest that different races need different approach to managing this illness. That is interesting.
