First of all you'll need to find a hardware engineer to work on the charging port, to make it detectable by a pc.

Was hanging which was very unusual then one morning I was chatting on Facebook then it hangs again for about 5 minutes nothing was moving until it went blank

If it connects to PC,reload it but if it doesn’t then it is hardware issue.

if the phone does not connect to system then it’s an hardware fault,either get an engineer try another port before changing the tristar.
