I don't get you clearly, are you saying your mum will have 300k in her account after deducting your tuition fee and living expenses (around #9-10 million)? If not, then I am sorry you don't have the financial strength to study in Canada.
As for your aunt, is she willing to really sponsor you or you just want to use her SOA to apply? If it is the later then you don't have any chance of getting TRV.
Another option will be for you to go for a course/program that will give you full funding that will cover your tuition and living expenses

No, I said my uncle

Chances of getting a visa?
No one here can give guarantees, just hope for the best.

Seven years working experience?
Try and check if you qualify for Canada PR. Coming into the country as PR is always the best move.

Canada or UK?
Post Covid19: Both countries will struggle economically.

Canada's study visa is hard/challenging to get and just too many unnecessary documents to submit. You must put in work and prayers.

UK's study visa is quite easy once you have the right documents. The application is very straightforward. I actually think UK study visa is the easiest in the world (my opinion).

The question is what are your long term goals? If your aim is to study, work for 2 years and come back to change Nigeria, Please go to UK.

If your aim is to get PR fast, I will say Canada should be your first choice. The country has flexible immigration laws, so many ways to become a PR and it is a country that takes care of everyone (well, this may also be because of the government in power).

For example, everyone in Canada at the moment (Including International students) that have earned at least 5,000cad and have lost their jobs due to Covid19 are eligible for monthly income of 2000 Cad for up to 4 months. I got paid $2000 yesterday, e do me like film. I was not even making that much in a month doing 20 hours weekly before the whole Covid19 crisis.
Some schools in Canada have also set up funds to help students. My school has a 1.5Million cad emergency fund gotten from donors and have asked all students to apply for a 1 time donation of 500 cad. Honestly I have being very impressed.

How do you think students in UK are surviving right now without jobs? Parents who should be their sponsors in Nigeria are locked up at home with businesses locked up? UK International students to the best of my knowledge are not getting any support from government during this crisis. The truth is UK or Canada government owes International students nothing but the Latter chose to help international students regardless.

I have lived in UK and now in Canada. Honestly, I love UK, I love the life (Canada is kind of boring depending on your location) and the British pounds will make you fall in love. I owe a lot to UK.

However, the way the government of Canada has supported me this period of crisis, It has been amazing. I am spending the next 10, 15 years or even forever in this country. God bless UK and God bless Canada.

Please my brother and sister ,Any international student or anybody in canada applying for cerb should look at the requirement in details and ask many questions because what is happening now is anybody that apply for the fund will get it and does not mean you qualify for it , meaning some people will be ask to refund the money because after the emergency period govt will look at each case one by ome again and if they feel you do not qualify.you will be ask to refund the money in full and secondly the 2000cad is taxable income so keep the tax seperate for next year ..some people say international student qualify while some say no .even the information from govt is not well detailed but anybody that apply for cerb fund will surely get it but that does nlt mean he or she qualify ..please keep safe ..wish all the best

See this below::

On Monday, a statement from Halifax MP Andy Fillmore confirmed that students who had made $5,000 in the past 12 months could apply.

“This includes students who, due to the impacts of COVID-19, have lost their job, are unable to find work, or who had a summer job opportunity fall through,” Fillmore said in the emailed statement.

But just two days later, final details released on the benefit contradicted that.

According to the government website, the benefit is only available to those who stop work as a result of reasons related to COVID-19.

“If you are looking for a job but haven’t stopped working because of COVID-19, you are not eligible for the Benefit. For example if you are a student who had a job last year and were planning on working this summer you do not qualify for the benefit,” the website reads.

I think I clearly spelt it out in my initial post that there were conditions and not everyone qualifies for the money. The truth is majority of students that have been in Canada since last year summer/fall will likely qualify provided they have been working and lost their jobs due to covid19.

For example, If you arrived Canada January this year as an international student, even if you have lost your job to Covid19, you definitely do not qualify because there is no way you would have earned 5,000Cad from January till date working 80 hours in a month (20 hours weekly). Even if you collect the money, your SIN number will expose you and you will be forced to return it

Also, those ones that are working and still end up applying for the money are part of the people who will get into trouble. This can be easily traced via SIN. Major reason why the government said you must not be working, you cannot voluntarily quit your jobs, must have lost your job to Covid19 and you must have earned over 5000Cad.

The application takes less than 1 minute once you have a CRA account and less than 5 minutes if you do not have an account. The whole idea is to make it fast for people to receive their money. No documents are submitted because it is assumed that the criteria has been clearly spelt out and easy to understand.

Finally, I was laid off March15 due to this pandemic and I have earned over 10,000Cad till date before losing my job. I guess I don't need to tell you that I qualify.

I will end up collecting a total of 8000Cad in 4 months and you are suggesting I should be worried about paying tax on the money next year? You want to collect free money and paying tax is supposed to be an issue? Am I not supposed to even be happy to pay tax cos it shows this country spends all the tax they collect very well?

Bro, you and I know that people who qualify know themselves. I mean we can read and comprehend things, hence, why we paid so much money to study in Canada. The criteria is straightforward. [b]CRA also has a number, you can call in and ask if you qualify. Na people wey won dey greedy or wey won game the system go dey ask plenty questions when the rules have been clearly spelt out. This is the end on this topic.

Please, should I use him as my sole sponsor or should I use my maternal Aunt's Statement of account that runs in millions as a co-sponsor.

N.B- My Maternal Aunt doesn't bear the same surname with me.

PLEASE, I need your candid piece of advice cuz I'm in dilemma.

Good day house,
I’m just about to start my online application and I’m filling the first questionnaire. I intend to call up the provided panel physicians and request for an upfront medical. My question is that in the section where they ask if I’ve done an IRCC medical in the last 12 months, am I to pick no?
Cause my line of thought is that if I do pick no, as I haven’t yet, does that mean I have to do a requested medical now?
I’m just trying to beat time, as little as I can.
Thank you all very much.

If you are in Nigeria, because of COVID they aren’t doing upfront medicals for now. You have to wait till the embassy requests you to go for one.

Wow that's a good news coming his way soon.
Their is non for now due to the pandemic but hopefully after the lockdown he can proceed..

Plz bro did your bro pay his full tuition or half?
Can you share his profile with us?

Yeah sure
This is his 3rd application.

I invited him to Canada a few years ago. They denied him.
He applied for a study permit last fall he was denied based on tie to Canada, and economic advantages in Canada. So, this is his 3rd application. Also, I requested for GCMS note for both applications that got denied.

I'm his financial sponsor. Documents provided are SOA, 2018 tax return, employment letter and my proof of status. I also swore an affidavit on his behalf. Tuition paid in full. PS. I did not write a letter of sponsorship. I guess the affidavit carried more weight.
He included my mom's statement of financial net worth from a chartered accountant, SOA and affidavit of co-sponsorship.

Applicant's document
Statement of account
Employment letter and Business certificate.
Affidavit of study
Statement of Intent.
And other academic documents.

Note: I submitted through an agent here in Canada. I'm not sure if it made any difference because I provided all the documents. The only thing she suggests that I should add to this new application are a statement of financial net worth from applicant and mom. She asked me to swear the affidavits too.

I hope this helps. I will be back with a comprehensive list of the documents submitted.

I was on this thread 7 years ago, so I know how it feels.
Good luck to everyone.

Good day all,
I need an urgent help.

I applied for a student visa July 2019. Did my biometrics through and agent.
Then on September 17 2019, there was a message on my dashboard stating my biometrics fee money was reverse that I should pay on the 17 of September 2019. Same day.
The agent didn't pay the money. And refuse to give me access to my dashboard.

Fast forward to January 2020. I use the authorities to get in arrested then. I knew what was happening on my dashboard. I message the email on the reversal letter and I was told I should pay the biometrics fee back. Which I paid on February 2020. And I got an email from them that my account has been updated..
But up to this moment, my dashboard has been the same. I don't know if it's still on hold or not processing. I message Nairobi email, got no response from them.

Please house, is there something else I can do?

In view of the bolded, you have nothing to be worried about since your account has been uploaded and your biometrics enrollment details are available on your application.

In the meantime, you can enquire about the status of your application considering your application has exceeded the standard processing times. You can do so by contacting Nairaobi Visa office via Email -nrobi-immigration@international.gc.ca.
Also raise a CSE via THE NAIROBI WEB FORM.

It will end in praise.
