On UACN, Pa Emma succinctly put it that the new guys are not going to be investors friendly. The focus for them is to recoup their investments as soon as possible. The more assets they sell in the future will determine if buying now is a good or wrong one. I do not see any reason why there should be these large offers for the stock.

If u are in UACN, HOLD and HOLD very tight and be overprotective of it.
...infact, be vigilant to massively ACCUMULATE more !!

The current huge offer is for the most part, "a mirrage".
Actual sellers are only very few.(those with eyes can see it)

In all, No point highlighting the good and inherent reward in the result.(keeping it for later)
...will be glad for it to come down in price, so some of us can accumulate much more.(note the part in bold)
I will SURELY utilize this great opportunity for good !!

These "plays" are sometimes a tradition in the "NSE room" wink cheesy grin

The CEOs salary increased from N42 million in 2018 to N147 million in 2019.Higher than the pay of the CEOs of FBN, Access Bank and UBA, about the pay of the CEO of Zenith. This is a red flag for a struggling business that is about to be turned around

The new core Investors might not be different from the guys who wrecked Oando.

Investors should be cautiously optimistic, avoid company's that are managed by Wizkid young CEO.

In another news the CEO worked for some years at Ocean and Oil the core investors of Oando.

UACN will pay me handsomely as projected before investing in it.
All projections and permutations regarding the released result were all expected.
The only new thing is they went ahead to pay dividend of 10kobo. This was not expected in the 2019 financial performance so has passed as an awoof.
The management has been brave enough to proceed with publishing their results and stuck to the plan from last year.
If you bought for long term like some of us, don't be deceived into selling off now.
It's a natural reaction to the dividend payment.
Buy from sellers if it becomes ridiculously cheap.
We are in end of April, the date for the unbundling is closer than ever. This same market will respond appropriately.

I can't speak for those who bought for jijo though.

Chief, by this singular post, you have become the spin master general of this thread.

For about 6 years. I am sure many people missed that one. This is probably the first acquisition of Themis Capital and will be a guinea pig for them.

The focus is not so much on the loss figures for two years in a row but for the so called corporate restructure and where it leaves retail shareholders. I am still trying to figure out a way forward after they sell the third portfolio coy either this year or early next year. Asset stripping in motion. For the short and mid term its a no-no. if it survives to the long term it may be a different story. If you must have a relationship with UACN, go for one of the subsidiary in paint manufacturing. The other cash cow is not quoted so you can't access it.

If you know how to read financial statements, pay close attention the CFS and notes to the account.

Probably my last post on UACN before people think there is anything personal.

"Jijoist" may still have a winning proposition albeit a very unfavourable risk adjusted returns.

You nailed it, sir. Although I don't seem to understand the meaning of the adjective ''Wizkid'' in this context, but there is nothing wrong for the CEO of any organization to be young. There are numerous examples of ''old for nothing'' CEOs and leaders around the world, particularly in Nigeria. In fact, the younger they are, the better the innovation they bring on board.

If UACN should make a profit after tax of over N150 billion like Zenith bank, GTB, MTN, that means the CEO will be paid a whopping salary of over N2 billion.

Richy MUST deny WAPCO and UACN three times before he will be bailed out..... grin
Price is now recovering all the 10 10 10% credit he was given before. Its like borrowing credit from MTN, once you load, the real-time billing system goes into action with programmed obedience.
WAPCO BIDS are gradually self isolating from offers, from N12.95 to N11.50 now, na so price quarantine dey take progress.... grin

nna777:

Looking at it from another perspective, US oil inventory is at its all time high. Their storage capacity is at over 70%. same with China.

For Brent to move northward, those reserves have to be consumed for demand to increase again. So even if there is a further cut, it will only be temporary (few days northward movement).

So pending when the oil reserves of China and US is consumed and pending when the further cuts is announced, Brent will likely dip further to say 25 before the surge from May when US will start their phased opening of the country

Information comes per hour which can alter projections which weren't in themselves wrong but as new info comes in, changes ought to be made.

The slide in oil is obvious. reserves are maxed out, earnings are dipping, supply is more than demand etc.

Even if there is a further cut, it wouldn't make any difference except in the stock market futures.

The excess in the reserves have to be consumed first. his will lead to price stability. price uptrend will begin when consumption starts full scale. any movement now will only be manipulative.
