microservice:
I have two questions regarding accommodation:

1. I learnt that private residences don’t care about Visale for garant. Is this correct?

2. If the guarantor is an individual, must he/she be a relative?

Hi Everyone? Anyone?
I just got admission to study in university of bourgogne( Msc). I am yet to read up on the visa requirements but want to connect with anyone planning to go to France by September.
I am super worried about the whole COVID-19 situation and i don't know if they would need one to be tested negative before they can grant visas.
Anyways, anyone preparing to go to France, please lets connect and update each other. Thank you.
Re: Thread For France Prospective Students by Skymoore1004: 4:16pm On Apr 20, 2020
You have until 30th April to pay for your visa application via campus France o so no further delays. You pay 50k & the validate your documents & invite you for an interview when lockdown has been lifted so check their website.

Meanwhile why France? Do you speak french? If not how do hope to survive

My dear, I also got my offer too..

My tuition is 243€...

I doubt fully if the French-Embassy will "issue Visa" on such low tuition of 243€..Because
they won't trust one's study intention.
"Except" you have a scholarship.

I also have admission in University of Bordeaux which is €4,000

I rather go to university of Bordeaux for €4,000 than the Bourgogne €243..

Bourgogne is 50/50 because of the tuition.....and playing such kind of game is close to failure.

The fact is i don't really plan going to France...

REASONS;

Settling in France is not Easy.

I don't know how to speak French.

Before you can get a job in France, you must know how to speak French.

Not that one can't get a job without knowing how to speak French, but it's gonna be hell and it will take by God's Grace.

French Citizens are crying for jobs..even in Paris...let alone us that are coming from outside.?

FRANCE is not like GERMANY where jobs flow like water in the stream.

CORONA VIRUS will make it even worst.

The only people i think enjoying France are those on Scholarships with Stipend.

i Just looked through the vfs website and i did not see anything regarding a deadline for payment. If 30th is the deadline then how about people that usually give admissions towards june/july? they can't go ahead to pay for visa when they are not sure of admission yet.

If you don't mind, kindly point me to where i would that deadline? Thank you

this is what i saw on the website:

"It is not currently possible to submit your France-Visas application for the selected country. For more information"

okay for those going to Dijon for Msc that is University of Bourgogne its not a bad city although very isolated compare to Ile de france, Lyon, Lille marseille and even bordeaux, my advice for you is that if you are coming to france and hoping you will get a life after study, you are wrong.. even if you speak french, most employer will still want you to speak french like you were born there except you want to use your certificate to do cleaning job.
Presently France is not issuing any visa due to the corona virus pandemic and all university are closed as well till september but some plan to give distance exam to student, since france is not like UK that depend on international student fee to boost their economy due to their low tuition fee, most schools might end up not admitting new student this year, i hope i am wrong or some necessary requirement will be asked before coming in, like COVID 19 test certificate.
For the person complaining that UB fee is too cheap for 243euros, that was the standard fee for all university in france not untill 2018/2019 academic session when they change it to 3999euros which is 4000euros, so some school retain the old fee to attract student while others change to new fee because they know they will always get student to come, so dont be deceived, you will get visa for 243euro fee, Although Bourgogne and Bordeaux are enemy because both of them always fight for who produces the best wine in france lol, its bordeaux though...
Visa application are mostly by summer which is first week of July, so you still have time, since france plan for high school student to resume by May 11th and monitor the situation till June 11th to consider opening foreign border(EU border will be open on may 11th). I am presently in Dijon although i did my masters at Universite de Cergy Pontoise Ile de France(Paris region), I wish i could be around to help out daneilla but i will be leaving france for my PhD at Hongkong in August, Wish you the best

oh very nice questions you ask

1. Yes, I am leaving because i got a PhD at Hongkong Polytechnic University, well in france, it is believe you should get a PhD during your stage (Internship) but not all stage(Internship) comes with PhD after finishing, that was my case even though i attain the french PhD grade which is the most difficult in europe, i still didnt get a PhD, and in france it believe that once you dont get a PhD during your stage (Internship), the rest dey God hand, no Professor want to take someone else student and Hongkong provides me with an opportunity to come continue with my study, you see, I am not after french free health care or the CAF reduction house rent, I am after my education.

2. I didnt option for APS, rather i applied for another masters at University of Bourgogne to get a 2years carte de sejour(Residence permit), since i know with my APS, I wont be able to get a Job related to my MSC degree to convert to normal residence since my france language is barely B2. okay let me explain this to you, those that enjoy APS in france are those that did their masters in Tourism or course that requires you to do a job mainly meant for english which is difficult to get or else, you will just discover you use your APS do cleaning job and prefecture(Administration) wont consider such job to give you normal residence permit.
let me explain here again: in france, once you are done with your masters, you will be given an APS to look for a job related to what you study in school with a pay of not less that 1500euro, once you get this job, you will go to the prefecture or rather Admini for them to change the APS(similiar to student permit because you can only work 20h per week) to normal resident permit so you can full time. so let say you study Physics and you got a job for tourism or cleaning job, the prefecture will reject your change of status application because the job is not related to your course, so student always find it difficult to get a job related to their course so dey prefer to do another masters just to retain studentship and do their normal side job rather than risking to take a year APS.

3. part job you we do here is basically cleaning job and that is if you are in Ile de france(Paris region), all this province Dijon, Bordeaux and the rest is what we call french for the french, they are damn too racist to even give you cleaning Job, and forget working in restuarant if you dont speak at least B2 french, in worst scenario, you can go to CROUS to ask for student Job if you can proof you are really broke and such is not a case for a new student who just told the embassy he or she has 615euro per month for the first year.

Okay I understand you now. But before the APS expires, can you apply for another masters to remain back?

Also you keep emphasising on cleaning job. E be like say France don show you shege o. So it’s only cleaning job that is available to non french speakers? Mehn France is out of my list please. Cannot even go to Oyibo man land to clean when I get boys wey dey call me Oga for Naija here. In as much as I m ready to humble myself to survive out there, crayfish never reach to bend for me o

But I’m happy for your progress to study in HongKong. I hope and pray that you will be success there. Is it funded PhD or you’re paying for it?
