Same thing happened to me o, I recharged someone 4k, the only difference between my number n his number was the last digit, everything was thesame. I called the guy like 3 days straight he didn't pick, I sent him message begging him to refund, he didn't reply finally I sent him a message to enjoy my money n die. Like a week later he called me, n talk me he was an offshore worker that he has been in the rig ever since, I said ok, I apologise for the last message I sent him and begged him to send my money back, he said he will send it that even, till today I nor see one naira, I even called him back the number was off. I just lock up the money.

Your mistake was apologizing

Mine happened on Twitter. I meant a guy mid last year, then I just rounded up my Youth service, looking for a job and I decided to go and learn web design prior to when I get a job. Coincidentally, I saw a post of a popular celebrity saying he want to help people that want to learn something. Well, in my mind I was like prayer answered.

FAMS you won't believe what happened, he told me to send registration money to his agent. My sixth sense was telling me it was scam but I sent 5k. After that I contacted him and he said I should send him recharge card for him to call his agent. Then I knew it was all scam . 5k gone. I try looking for Providus bank to report the incident but couldn't.

I swear before man and God my own experience was at Emeka nfor too. I just forgot the name when I was typing.
Glad I have someone who's had similar experience. grin

I wish I was as smart as you tho.
My mom, younger sister, and cousins have been scammed. I have never met scammers but I want to see who will outsmart me either through intimidation...my greedy nature or in a cunning way. A girl I liked this year almost scammed me but she told me that I'm too cautious and calculative...she thought telling me would make me be free. I discarded her because deception disgusts me.

I read your story, madam. Lots of mistakes you made...I just pray you learn from it. Work on your boldness...no one can intimidate you unless you allow your mind to be intimidated. Don't rush stuffs...make enquires before embarking on stuffs.

My people are smart but you have to be smarter and tougher to deal with them.

I had 3.5M worth of Bitcoins which was my life savings when I was doing my Masters in 2016. I made a panick sale to a scammer who immediately blocked me on whatsapp after I sent coins. Sadly, Bitcoins price surge massively after that incident ans that investment could have meant a fortune, It felt like the world was going to end. To God be the glory, I bounced back, and today I have made a 100 folds of that loss buying and selling Bitcoins.
thank God your life bro.. come and teach me how to buy and sell bitcoin. Thanks

I smell lies all around your post.

From 10k to 500 notes?! Which year are you talking about exactly?

No lies bro. Maybe some stuff didn't add up in my narrative.

1. Like you pointed out, I don't recall the exact value of the coin I gave him, that's what I said around 10 kobo.

2. 500 note was in existence then, around 2004. That was even what made them notice that it was missing.

Growing up My Mom said to me that if I wanted To be Happy in life, I have to follow GOD. In her Words " I know how I got pregnant for you, you are different from your siblings "

Truly, I didn't have True Happiness until I made my Decision to Follow JESUS..

I went to onitsha market (Emeka Nwafor) to fix my laptop's screen, the guy I met said he wasn't having the screen at that moment and asked if I could wait.
I was on my way to enugu and there was no way I could wait, so we agreed he should buy the laptop. We agreed on 30k, a laptop I bought for 104k that only had inks on the screen and all i intended was to buy a new screen for it.
Like the 30K bad price wasn't enough, I agreed only for him to tell me he was going to scan some internal faults of the system and he said he was going to charge 10 naira or so per unit (I can't remember the exact things he said because it's been like 2 years it happened). I didn't see the 10 naira as issue, after he was done scanning my PC, he told me the total charge for the scanning was 19k. I don't know how he did it, but he showed me everything on his screen. I couldn't argue with him because there were plenty scary looking guys around and that was my first time there. This guy sha paid me 11k for my brand new HP15 that only had little black inks on its screen.
My first time in the east taught me a great lesson.
(No tribal pun intended)

And you could not report the issue.

In this ikeja with my hefty body and strong eye . Na so I near him, asked how much ? he said 20k it’s a big phone worth more than that

Well, Oga I get 10k he said no p. As we were both walking to the atm a police woman signaled me, as omo Yoruba Wey sabi eye signal , I took the guy to eco bank atm and later told him my atm hanged, he knew he’s bursted I entered the bank and watch him leave . After some minutes I enter the market back I saw the woman smiled and give her 1k she told me they work in group that even if I bought the phone successfully they will still overpower me and collet it back.

This was around 2012, I meet this girl on Facebook she introduced her self as happiness. Seeing her profile picture this babe was quite beautiful if I was to rate her with her picture I will give her a eight out of ten.... In the space of three month we became so intimate online, to cut the story short we decided to meet, I stay in Lagos while she is from Enugu.. She travelled all the way to Lagos for us to meet... The night before the day she was to arrive I couldn't sleep her face was all that was in my mind.. The next morning she called that she has just drop at the park, I quickly rush took a taxi heading to the park.. I called her trying to know where she was and what was the colour of her dress so I can locate her, thank God I saw her first without she seeing me, I felt like the ground should open up and swallow me, she look so different from what I imagined, she was a ugly fat hippo. If me and her were to stand side by side we would look like number 10... I just have to switch off my phone and went back home...God forgive me. Later I found out that pics she use was her in secondary school.

I was scammed by Koltron Nigeria Ltd. It happened between 2012 and 2013 can't remember correctly.
I overheard my colleagues then discussing with 2 men and laughing. I asked what the news was that they weren't sharing. That was how I used my hand by myself to enter that wahala.
They introduced the investment to me, that they trade in forex and after a particular time you get a certain percentage as profit. They started telling me about my senior colleagues that are into it and are cashing out.
They gave me a brochure, it looked so authentic. I studied it and I immediately transferred 100,000 naira to the account.
That night while at home Africa Magic aired one movie about a woman who had a restaurant and was doing very well till some men in suit came and marketed an investment to her, she was promised a certain percentage which was very juicy. She invested her all and lost everything.
I should have known that was God giving me a sign but I ignored it. The following day I transferred an additional 50,000 naira.
Shortly after we heard an announcement on NTA news warning people not to involve themselves in any of such schemes as their investment wasn't protected bla bla bla. We called the guys the next day, they said they are encountering a challenge. We check the account and it was already blocked. Choi! The MD of the company was later discovered to be one riff raff and he was just going in and out of police station as different people kept arresting him. Abeg na so our hard earned money just go like that. Some people borrowed up to 500k to invest in it.

Just imagine the kind of Cheap scam data this person is selling.

Let's not be greedy. Even the Network Owners will never sell data allowance like these.

These type of people make us honest business people look bad.
Just look at what he is selling as data.
Learn to buy data yourself directly from the Network Carrier. I don't even see what's cheap about these data these people sell.
They are only out to scam individuals.

Imagine the Network Owners themselves that is Airtel sell 1gb while this Scammer is selling 1gb Airtel for 330Naira.

How on Earth is that possible?
Please, let us shine our eyes.

I got an item here on Nairaland discovered that all the person said about the item was all false wen I got home , I contacted the person for a refund he started being aggressive saying he couldn't do so. I didn't want to hurt the person but wat the person didn't know was that it's not everyone you scam, more reason I don't do bad , but them no de cheat Esan man, he lost alot ,till now the person still doesn't know what hit him , waiting for him to talk so I can finish him totally. i don't cheat anyone so you can't cheat me. I hope he sees this and confronts me.

some people just need to be taught a lesson so they don't go about doing the same to others.

I hardly get scammed but MY father has been scammed so many times. Because he easily trusts people.

One time as at 2013 my little brother was supposed to go to the USA for his university education, my father enquired from a traveling agent and the man told him the requirements, and the agency fee. My father paid him the agency to #200,000 for everything, and after some weeks he told us he had gotten the admission for my brother for a school which was $12,000. My dad as at that time just came back from work at the USA which he had been working the previous year at the gulf of Mexico.
This man tool the money for the fees in dollars $12,000 and disappeared. My father tried to find him but didnt get him until they located his new office in port Harcourt.

My father involved the police, the moment they heard $12,000 they said for them to make the arrest he has to pay #150,000 my Dad said no problem. They all planned and the man got arrested. They asked him for another #50,000 for arresting the man, my Dad paid, the man paid them to have an agreement to free himself they called my dad so we can all negotiate and the man said he was going to pay my dad little by little. The police said he must pay my Dad through them.

The first payment $3000 police dpo took $1000 police men took $500 gave my Dad $1500, second payment they shared it again. My dad got fed up told the man to forget the money that God would judge him for what he did to him.

That's an old story.

I was angry when I heard my Dad left such huge money for the man. My Dad said we should forget it. What's causing scam to prosper in Nigeria is that our police is useless and most Nigerians easily have mercy on those who did wickedness to them
Na so so ahh I just dey shout here. Those police worst pass the man wey scam your dad sef
